Every time the FL's former husband is around she gets emotional and her hands start to shake in panic before she…
yeah..i loved that she didn't just magically got over her trauma. She literally got betrayed by the person she loved the most in the most gruesome way....woke up to an unknown man naked next to her (that in itself is a whole trauma on its own ), chained up, drugged again, and got knocked out and almost buried alive T_T . Poor girl suffering from PTSD
It was really hard to search this drama...i'm not sure why but when i searched "The double", this didn't came up... i had to find it through the actors...
i loved it! After watching it, my heart does feel very heavy, and I can't imagine how he must've felt through it all and I can only hope he stays healthy, happy, and continue to chase his dreams
itβs seems so easy to frame someone and drive them over the edge, but hard to prove or restore oneβs innocence.
in his case, it's not hard to prove his innocence, but the people of power doesn't want to do it because it would be the same to them as "admitting we wronged him", which you know they won't do....
I mean it took the police around a year to even accept his case and from what I heard, whenever any of his fans publicly ask about the progress of the case, their social media gets banned...
There are so many articles/posts/videos out there with false informations about him and passer-by are probably going to take those as facts without fact checking.
It's a really shitty situation which is why I feel so bad for him :/ His fans and management failed to protect him and his country betrayed him

Ok, I'm finished with episode 8, and here's my review so far for anyone interested:
The Pros: CGI / Set Outfits & Accessories (especially Bu Tai's clothes, I want them!!) World Building (I think they did a good job introducing Tushan and the Spirit Master Kingdom) Good-looking cast (eye candy throughout, haha) The love story between Princess Bu Tai and Shi Kuan (They've only just been introduced, and I already ship them hard. They also have really good chemistry!) The story progression, I think, is coming together nicely. It was a bit slow and uninteresting in the beginning, but I understandβthey're trying to set up the story. I think it's finally starting to pick up, and I can definitely see it getting better with each episode. I like how we can finally see the main leads going on an adventure to help matchmake, which is going to be interesting.
The Meh: OST: It's not bad, but there wasn't any song that particularly stood out to me or made me want to add it to my Spotify to re-listen. I actually don't mind the age gap between the ML and FL; it's a xianxia, so age doesn't matter in this universe. However, I think the ML suddenly going from 0 to 100 in love with the FL within the span of 4 episodes was a bit abrupt. I would've preferred if they either slowly fell in love or had more scenes together to showcase how he fell for her.
The Cons: I think I finally figured out what's missing: the villains! Usually, in xianxia or many dramas in general, the antagonists play as much of a role in driving the story as the protagonists. But the villains here seem very bland and one-dimensional. They don't really have any motives outside of just wanting to rule or wipe out the human race, which would be fine if there was a nice build-up or backstory. It feels like the villains are just there to be villainsβthey're your stereotypical villains without much of a backstory, and they're so boring that I don't even care enough to hate them, haha.
Rating based on enjoyment of the first 8 episodes so far: 8.5/10. I can't wait for the other characters to get introduced!
i don't know what was production company and director was thinking?? why they have to take gulinazha as female…
It's antis like you, who pose as fans of CY to throw shade at other artists, that give the impression that CY's fandom is toxic. Get out of here. We don't need any more negativity, and we don't care who is playing the FL as long as the production goes smoothly.
Some international fans may not have enough knowledge of C ent industry to know that one small issue can tank…
yahhh, antis are scary....I was on weibo and I saw a post of a group where some individuals gathered just to throw their middle fingers at his ads and then proceeded to ridicule him...
Poor boy, he's probably just enjoying his tea and focusing on his script xD. He has a very endearing personality haha
I believe in second chances, especially if the crime or offense is redeemable. I know nothing about HJJ, and if he were to participate in this drama, I have no problem with it since it's not really my place to get involved in his business or what he chooses to do in his personal life.
That being said, I understand where the fans' concerns are coming from. This drama is getting a lot of attention, half being positive from fans, and the other half being negative from antis. The antis are going to use any opportunity they can to put down this show, so HJJ is pretty much their scapegoat. They're going to use him to drag down this drama, and the fans don't want to risk that happening, so they're also pushing for HJJ to be out of this drama.
With C-ent being so ridiculously strict and the margin for error being incredibly low, it's understandable that even a minor issue or scandal can delay the drama from airing or cause it to be shelved for eternity. A big-budget drama like this, where a lot of money and staff are involved, is risky, and no one wants their efforts to be in vain. So as unfortunate as the situation is, given how it's already blown out of proportion and causing this drama to get a lot of negative attention, I do think it might be best for HJJ to step down from this role.
Don't get me wrong, I don't care if the actor plays in this, but I can't imagine it being good for his mental health either. If he decides to proceed with the drama, he's still going to get bashed (by antis of Chengyi, by his own antis, and by fans concerned with the drama's well-being). And if the drama ends up being delayed (even for reasons not related to him), people are going to blame him. I'd say he should continue his acting career but perhaps start on the down-low and work on building up his image with the public.
Also cried buckets
