IrenaK I don't know why, but I am actually more excited to see their adult romance than I was about their teenage one. Maybe it's because now I know they can stand against the Lu family way better than they could back then — she's not poor, and he's also independent and doesn't have to rely on his family's money. ☺️Them almost meeting so many times drove me crazy... I kind of knew their first meeting would involve their dog, but they still got me with that pool scene... 😅I am so looking forward to seeing how XiXiao will pursue her, how they will reconcile, and how they will make everyone who wronged them pay for making them break up those 10 years ago. 😌Also, I guess Huo Le will probably be released from prison and will cause some trouble. But I hope I won't see Wan's mother ever again. 🫣

This episode hurt... a lot. And then some. 😭💔 But it was still delivered exceptionally well. 👌Firstly, my heart was broken by the hide-and-seek scene, then by the phone calls he made again and again, and when she finally answered... It hurts even remembering that scene. But the final blow was XiXiao dancing on his own under the fireworks and imagining he's doing that with Wan... 😭💔Zhou KeYu did a masterful job of portraying all those emotions. And so did Bao ShangEn. Wonderful acting from both of them, and the perfectly chosen music just elevated all those feelings to another level.I can only be grateful that we finally had the time jump to the present day, and we can leave all that pain and suffering behind us. I hope that was the lowest point for them, and I look forward to hopefully less heartbreaking moments. 🤞🥹

All of them are "holding hands" to separate XiXiao and Wan... 🥺💔 Yan, Grandpa, Father, Luo He, and I'm sure we could find more, are all contributing to that. It's quite hard to watch how, because of all those people, such beautiful and sincere love will be shattered and those fragile, already vulnerable hearts broken even more. 😭🫣

There's a lot to talk about, but I might focus on Mao this time. 👆As expected, he just pretended to reconcile with WuYi, yet he still wants him to live, and that includes curing his illness. But for what reason? To make him watch how powerful and loved he has become? To get JiaYu for himself and watch WuYi feeling bad, envious or jealous about all that? Or is that some brotherly sentiment from deep within that he's trying to hide? 😒🤔But he won't be able to get JiaYu — she's not in love with him anymore, which leads me to wonder if he lives in some sort of denial about her feelings, maybe still thinking WuYi has stolen her from him? 🙄 But that's not how it works, Mao! 🤦♀️😮💨And I did notice the change in how JiaYu and WuYi address him now by his full name — Li Mao. No more A'Mao or Yizhi... That shows us how distant they've become by that alone. 😬Also, did Mao know beforehand about the attempt to kill the Grand Tutor? Maybe he even orchestrated it so he could have a reason to accuse the Xiaos again and get rid of the living proof of his not-so-royal lineage? 🫣😬🤷♀️But WuYi has now saved JiaYu from Mao, and even threatened him. Next time he won't spare him... And when will that next time be? When the Northern forces arrive? 🤨

Oh, why do I have the feeling that Jiang Yan might tell his father about XiXiao and Wan leaving... Nooo, why did she tell him where they are going? 😨Wan's mother being kicked out of the Lu mansion was one of the most delightful scenes... she deserves every little thing that happened to her in this episode, and more. Also — she's responsible for the debts of Wan's father's factory? OMG! I just can't with her... Just when I think she's already the worst, they reveal something that makes her even worse than that... that woman! 🤬😤Even though I love seeing XiXiao and Wan together and happy, in this episode I kind of couldn't enjoy it, because my worry for them has overtaken me... I should brace myself for some really bumpy episodes. 🥺😓

The happier they get, the more worried I get. 🫣 But I loved seeing them laughing, flirting, hugging and kissing — they are so wholesome! And the puppy! 🤗 It's the same dog she stroked in front of that supermarket 10 years later when they met again, right? 🥰 I don't want this era to end... We could finish this drama right here and not think about what's coming at all...And I don't like what Mr. Lu is doing with Jiang Yan — please stay strong, get through this, and never become his tool! Please... and don't take it out on your mom, she's been through a lot as well. 🥺

Her mother is even worse than I already thought. Not even trying to save her husband because a person who's that sick is just a burden? 😡 I really hope she gets everything XiXiao wished for her and more. I want her to end up in poverty and alone so she can feel what it is like to be left behind, unwanted, and without any resources to survive. 😠😤 And XiXiao's father is no better — to threaten him with Wan's freedom and life? Come on... 🙄😧But I do love that Wan and XiXiao keep holding on to each other, to protect and support each other and look for ways to stay together. They are as wholesome as teenagers can be, but that fight with their parents is tiring and they might eventually get exhausted... 🥺🤧 I really hope they won't , though.The plot is building up towards that promised big breakup, which inevitably will happen. And at this point, I am assuming the reason will be something their parents do, not because of him or her. Because I can't see how else they could keep those two separated. 😭💔P.S. This drama really tests the limits of my emotions — even the bad ones. 🫣

The way this episode ended got me a little confused and actually also worried. 😬😟 We have five more episodes left, but everyone already seems to be standing on common ground, all of them kind of satisfied with the outcome... Could that be just the calm before the real storm? And who would bring that storm? The Eagle King? Maybe Mao will go down some notorious path now that his father, GT Xie, will be away and won't be able to guide/advise his rule? 🤔🤷♀️ I think Mao might still want JiaYu for himself and that's the only thing that might not be settled between him and WuYi yet... I base this assumption on how furious he got in that one scene when one of the eunuchs said WuYi wouldn't write the divorce letter. 😒And then there's WuYi's illness, which Mao knows about as well (I still can't forget how JiaYu blabbed about it to him almost right away after learning about it). At least WuYi has been preparing, and training to operate and navigate without sight on his own, honing his hearing and other senses. 🥺💪 I expect them to come in handy, the same way as I expect the cane JiaYu forged for him to be used... The writers wouldn't include these things in the plot if they didn't have a use for them, which only leads me to think WuYi will go blind at some point.☝️But I do love how JiaYu has matured, and how she and WuYi's relationship just keep growing stronger. She wants him to live and fight for that life, and he will try. 🥰And I absolutely loved how YuanJi nailed the spring examination and got the first rank! And with all her knowledge about the bamboo cages filled with pebbles (I imagined them as old-school gabions) to mitigate the flood damage and JiaYu's mechanical skills for the demonstration they even helped to clear the names of the An and Lu families and put that old case to rest. 👏 And the Beifu reform will also go through... so I am returning to my previously stated question — where's the storm brewing? 🤔

They are so wholesome, I can't even... Him playing all night so he could win her a bicycle because the store was closed... and the next night staying up all night with an open phone call to make sure she slept well... Aw, XiXiao. 🤗🥰And they were lucky that they were on that phone call. Luo He would have destroyed Wan's house and even hurt her... That scene was so stressful. 😬😟And Wan's mother can say whatever she wants, but I don't think she can get any pity points from me... I think that even if she sacrificed her life for her, she still wouldn't be able to redeem herself. That's how terrible she is in my eyes. 😤

When all those people arrived at the funeral, and then the video with grandma talking.... they really are not sparing me... 😭🤧Her being so tired after the funeral, leading to her passing out while the house filled with gas, and then that breakdown in the hospital... She's been through so much in her life, and she's only 18. 💔 I am relieved XiXiao was by her side when all of that happened, so he could comfort her and soothe her. 🥹❤️I hoped I wouldn't see the mother in this episode, but there she was, not knowing what had happened, singing her same old song about money. 🙄 And to say her sadness is genuine... my foot! 😤 I want XiXiao not to go abroad and I think he might not — if not for any other reason, then at least to stay with Wan, because she's in a terrible shape at the moment. 🥺🙏

Not the grandma.... They really caught me off guard with her death, even if it was expected. She didn't look well when she left the hospital, and told WanWan not to wait for her at home and to just go out? Like she already knew she wouldn't be coming back.... 😭💔At least WanWan has XiXiao, and I bet he's not going to study abroad anymore. And then that will infuriate their parents, who will cause even more drama.... Why did I choose to watch this? I am so heartbroken and sad for them.... 🫣🥺🤧I want to return to the first half of this episode when they were so wholesome and she was giggling and timid at the thought alone of having a boyfriend. And I want to stay there, in that happy place... 🥹

I somehow expected more from XiXiao's confrontation, but I'll live with what they gave me. 🤷♀️😑But about the rooftop scene — I was completely taken by surprise and confused. At first, there's an unknown girl and then, for some reason, XiXiao is also up there, even though he is scared of heights. That all felt so random, but I guess the purpose was to show us his trauma — the source of his fear, and meanwhile, to also explain the backstory of his mother. 🫣Even if I have mixed feelings about this choice for the plot, it was a really emotional scene. I wasn't ready for anything like that. 😢💔Also, I don't like Wan's mother hinting to Wan's grandmother about how and why Wan might need to get some money. Is she trying to guilt-trip her own mother? 😤 I really think Gou XianYing is the worst character in this drama and I am not sure if there is anything that can convince me otherwise. But without her, we wouldn't even need this drama, because everyone would be at peace and/or happy. 😒And another question in my mind — if XiXiao and Wan pretty much know everything about each other now, what could possibly be that big reason that separates them on such bad terms? 🤔

The plot twist of him also living his second chance was nice, though expected. 😏 Also... was the cat that ran in front of his car in 2023 the same one he has in 2013? They looked exactly the same! 🫣Overall, this was the first episode where Jihyuk was so clumsy and timid because of her... like — a lot. It was so adorable and cute! 🤗🥰But now there will be a misunderstanding, because Jiwon thinks Huiyeon has a romantic relationship with Jihyuk... but in truth, they are just siblings or cousins. 😒Minhwan doesn't deserve the title of being anyone's boyfriend. And also, there are so many men there who think women are just like trophies or accessories who should stand next to them, be quiet, smile, and be pretty, just to make the man look better... THAT, I really can't stand. 😠I loved to see Sumin losing it, because she deserves all she received and more. She really is a creative, crazy bitch like those girls from school described her. But that only makes her more unpredictable and dangerous... At least she's starting to work her charms on Minhwan, so I can only hope they soon get together and relieve Jiwon from that torture she calls her boyfriend. 🙄

So, my assumption that GT Xie did not know of LeJun's plan was correct. However, he let her go once he learned the reason behind that choice... Mao is way more important to him than any other person. 🫤And that leads me to a question — what would GT Xie do if Mao didn't want to follow his "suggestions" anymore and wanted to decide everything on his own? Would the father turn against his son? And if Mao learned he was used in some ways for GT's ambitions? Would the son turn against his father? 🤔We finally saw the sword JiaYu forged for WuYi! 🤩 Only, she wanted to give it to him in return for a 5k tael loan for her mother's memorial on some mountain overlooking her homeland in Northern Qin. Such a sweet and well-thought gesture from JiaYu to her mother... 🤗🤧But WuYi didn't have the money, so he secretly sold his prized steed that his father had gifted him... Oh, WuYi! Always being so selfless with JiaYu and her wishes. I bet, if he could, he would give her the world and more! That's the man and husband WuYi is. 🥰Thanks to He YuanJi for telling JianYu where the money had come from. That's yet another thing that brings them closer again. AND she gifted him the mentioned sword for that... 🤗 However, WuYi said he wanted something else... I think we all know what it is! 🤭But the culmination of the episode definitely was the Empress Dowager's banquet, where with clever thinking, JiaYu and WuYi managed to make LeJun confess about killing Princess Yunzhou. 👏But imprisoning LeJun has just driven the rift wider between Mao and WuYi. Actually, the way Mao asked WuYi if he can guarantee Crown Prince WenXi is dead makes me wonder if maybe he suspects WuYi's true identity and his question was asking WuYi for a promise to never compete for the throne? 🤨 WuYi confirmed he's dead, yet it took some pause between the answer... So, would he decide to stay dead forever, really, if Prince Qi would start to abuse his power somehow? 🤔
