The team is set!

The team is set, and they are so diverse! I already love them and believe this is going to be quite a ride. This drama is already giving so much—funny, tense, scary, and flirty moments wrapped in an engaging story with tricks coming from multiple parties... 🤗🤪🤭And I finally saw the sun! ☀️Also, I am quite intrigued with the backstory of Wen Xiao, her master, and Zhu Yan. 🤨😏

Now they walk side by side!

She knew how to lead, but not how to follow. He knew how to follow, but not how to lead. And so, they began to walk side by side. Perfect! ❤️"Do not bend to their will. Do not step back and do not compromise. I shall fight with all that I have. Just as you do." — I-An

First kiss!

Whether it's a king-only symbol or not, he's her dragon in shining armor now! 🤗I loved the kiss; the atmosphere was perfect with the petals flowing through the air and the warm colors of the night. So beautiful and romantic! (He probably did it for the surveillance cameras or something like that, but I know he craved to do it anyway! 😏🤭)

Loved the female lead already!

I loved how cunning, bold, and confident our lead is. She doesn’t take 'no' for an answer and is determined to cut her way through and upward. That’s exactly what she did with her choice to chase the Grand Prince as her husband—proposing to him herself was the boldest and most ambitious move she could have chosen. And she will probably succeed, because the Prince has been intrigued by her ever since that night in the archery field at school years ago.I believe this will be a very interesting watch!

A guide to tame a gang of ruffians :)

Wow... our girl was on fire! I loved how the ruffian gang became her loyal followers so easily. She’s the only one who can beat their butts like no one else—she earned every bit of that respect! Chang Yu was definitely the MVP of this episode. No doubts there. I was so worried for the hawk, but I'm so glad Zheng found a way to save it from the butcher's block. Good job convincing your wife the bird is worth more alive than eaten, Zheng! That was a close call for our messenger. But the ending... uff... I didn't expect this twist. What will happen next? Will Chang Yu be accused and put on trial for murder? I really hate her uncle and aunt! At one tiny moment, though, I was actually afraid that Zheng or the ruffian gang might have done something to the uncle... We'll see what happened. I suspect the truth won't be revealed to the public, but I hope at least we get to see what really went down!

The sparks are all over the place!

The pretend marriage consummation—no words! Electric sparks were flying everywhere and the room was filled with heat. To our disappointment, the leads are very good at restraining themselves, even when they are practically glued together.I really savored the beautiful shift from the northern lands to the more spring-like grounds of Heijian Luyuan Academy via bird's-eye view. The hawk's travel was perfectly done, finally revealing who is on the other side of this communication: Gongsun Yin, the headmaster of the Academy. A very intriguing detail is that there's a lady disguised as a man with heart-eyes for the headmaster. That subplot could be very interesting! As I understood in the end, the Marquis has another alias: Xie Jiuheng? Or was the headmaster referring to the bird by that name?

The feelings are growing

This episode gave us so many warm moments! All the little things they do for each other... it's very visible that Zheng already cares for Chang Yu. He even put in the effort to get back her hairpin. So sweet! ❤️Neither of them could even sleep properly after those exchanged pecks on their cheeks. The feelings are definitely blooming! The highlight was definitely seeing them show Song Yan his place. Even though it looks like he cares for Chang Yu on some level, he's definitely not worthy of her. He just lets others plan his life and needs. Making him a laughingstock at their wedding felt so well-deserved! 👏I wonder who the Marquis is exchanging messages with... They sent medicine for him, organized the payment for his "essay", and got Chang Yu's hairpin back. I want to know who they are!

They should finally talk about their feelings!

If only Yan Xing would ask Shen Du about the woven pig instead of making assumptions on her own... I bet there is a letter from his mother, or something of similar value, hidden inside—not a token from some other girl! The only girl in his heart has been Yan Xing all along, whether he had a name and a face for her yet or not.

Intriguing supporting characters

I loved Princess Hade! Her energy is amazing, and her friendship with Bu Yinlou makes me like her even more. On the other hand, Prince Fu seems very shy and lacking in confidence. In my experience with these dramas, characters like this often become obsessed with one of the leads; when they don't get what they want, they eventually turn into villains. I'm curious to see if his story goes differently! Overall, I’m really enjoying the show so far.

Everything is changing

This episode clearly set the footing for the next phase. Even if I loved the romance scenes and the incredible chemistry between our leads, the world around them and beyond is in turmoil.Firstly, we finally heard the Grandfather's secret. To no surprise, it turns out Chang Yu's father wasn't his biological son. Da-da-da-daaam!Secondly, Wei Sheng’s organized killings of citizens are specifically designed to rile people up, turning them against each other and starting riots. At this point, I actually hope Qi Min will intervene to help Yu Qianqian, but that man and his intentions are still a total mystery to me.Thirdly, Xie Zheng has revealed his intentions to leave.Everything is changing; tension between factions is growing, and all the major figures are trying to make their moves at once. It’s inevitably leading to a massive clash. I’m waiting for tomorrow’s episodes—the drama is unfolding, and I want to be right there in the front row!

Trial after trial

This episode was such an emotional rollercoaster! I was terrified for Chang Yu, Zheng, and little Ning the whole time.At first, they sent Chang Yu to prison based only on her aunt's accusations, without any real evidence. Then we learned that the Fan house was attacked, with Zheng and Ning nowhere to be found. Luckily, they managed to escape and were hiding in the forest, freezing. I bet Ning was so scared, but she didn't panic or show it. Such a brave little girl! Thanks to Zheng, waves—literally waves—of assassins were killed with masterful skill. All his moves held such grace and flawless accuracy; considering he was still healing and not at full strength, it felt truly EPIC!Meanwhile, thanks to Constable Wang, Chang Yu was released from prison and rushed to find her sister and husband—finding them just in time and making her first-ever human kill.Everything that happened next was just as tense: Zheng is back to the state he was in in episode one, Chang Yu's hands won't stop shaking, and they cannot return home as it's been locked down by the Yamen. And then an arrest warrant for Zheng... WTF! Then they are both put on trial again—Chang Yu is sent back to prison for "escaping", and Zheng is accused of being a bandit...Zheng was ready to kill everyone there, as he clearly felt the judge was unfit for his power, handing out guilty verdicts left and right. Thankfully, his friend Headmaster Gongsun arrived with travel papers for Yan Zheng, his scholar. That got our boy released, and Chang Yu as well.My emotions are all over the place. I was so angry at the judge, the aunt, and the assassins... and yet, we still don't know who actually killed Chang Yu's uncle! But one thing is sure—it is all a setup.

Very packed with drama plots

Didn't like this episode at all. 😕Jiwon believed everything Yura said way too easily, without any doubt. At least she came to her senses about him later, but still, that felt a bit out of her character. 😔And then her mother suddenly appeared for a nice mother-daughter date, which actually was just to fish for goodies... I am certain Sumin put her up to this, and I was sad to see Jiwon getting hurt and disappointed by her mother once again. 😟And of course, a white truck — how could a modern K-drama exist without one of those? But Jihyuk will most likely be ok. He's protected by protagonist armor, and also, it's not his time yet, as it is supposed to be 10 more years before he dies, right?..... Right? 🫣The highlight was watching Sumin and Minhwan's miserable marriage and Mrs Yang getting medical help for her stomach cancer, but otherwise this episode was quite frustrating. Did the writers decide there was too little drama and then pack so much into one episode? 😥

Dony's stressing me out

I am more than certain that Dony did sexually abuse Kitty. He wants people to drink because then it's easier to get what he wants, and he didn't look too happy about Zhitao not wanting to drink and encouraging others to do the same if they didn't want to. 😔And I think he might want to also use Zhitao in some way, which is absolutely stressing me out. I know she's smart and sees through him, but I still worry. 🫣😟I really hope Nian, Lumi, and Tracy will be able to expose him before he manages to succeed with something terrible that would hurt our leads or the other people I care about. 🤞🙏P.S. Love Nian's relationship with the dog. 🙂‍↕️🤗

Consequences and gains

Uff, how fiercely and desperately she tried to protect him! I know she wants him alive to finish the script, but it as well could be because of some feelings she doesn't realise yet. They definitely have grown much closer by now... 😏And he has become such a devoted and protective husband. I love it! No one is allowed to harm her or insult her, because he would instantly handle them. Like when those people came to her house asking them to repay the debts. 😌 Only then, it was interrupted by Pei Heng. Also, I hope Han Shuo will find a way to keep that guy away from Xiaoqian and won't let him stay around Xiaoqian for too long. 😔And do I sense a possibility of a relationship between the Crown Princess and Su Mu? 🤭
