he fucking nailed it. i was soooo scared of this drama bc i love the director and i love yumi but he hadnt given us much yet. i was gonna watch it regardless but he SHOCKED me and i'm assuming many many viewers especially with the person his character was and how female-centric this hsow is. i ahve a feeling this brought out a lot in him both from the directors but the whole ensemble. they did an amazing job

also i know 'crazy' or weird could be a pejorative for 'autistic' (or the 'r' slur) in SK. a friend of mine (krn) was telling me this after we read this thing about SK having a higher rate of people with this than they realize/thought. it was really interesting and if anyone wants maybe i can find it. it could be both a good thing (reclamation) maybe or.....not that. lol (also i could be wrong about the pejorative stuff but it's a pattern in dramas and almost always if a character has a disability that makes them impaired they mimic the signs of severe autism)

she's a good actress and gives her all to her roles (even in shows non-desserving) and htis sounds like it could be good. please please please PLEASE do not fuck it up but there's some huge ableism over there (and in the world but i've read about autism/asd in SK) and it could be a fantastic look and not mocking

i think very few people on this list actually have deep voices but honestly i could be mixing ppl up or just it wasnt memorable enough to me. noteable dude is obviously sung gyun idk how he's not at the top! this dude's voice is bonkers. soo hyuk is very close though.

two things:

1. it's ok to call her a dumb bitch for dumb bitch behavior. these stories absolutely ruin the female characters because of their stupidity. it's how much they're willing to put up with and how or if they're willing to pull themselves out of it that makes us want to watch and stay and root for her. rn it aint workin' sis and it's a pattern. therapy.

2. my initial thoughts before point 3:
- so from what we have seen it's a bit outdated and boring.
- it's a little too on the nose for me right now and it feels outdated. same women, same men, same bullshit.
- this is realistic in the way that you'll get burned as fuck and keep going back bc u dont know better or fuck up and just can't. fucking. STOP.
- but will it be realistic in the way that no one has any consequences? i hope not because that pain would, again, be the same stuff we've seen and we experience IRL with almost no recourse so often. we don't see the consequences of their actions just the damage and terror and its affect on us. their chemistry exists but it's not enough to not want to fucking kill this dude and i know my own panic is seeping in there
- it better interrogate the fuck out of patriarchy both in that rship and with the possibility of a homosexual relationship with two women. this is netflix and public channels in sk so it is possible. fucked if not

on to #3 :

- BUT since i saw a spoiler below and now know that women are writing this i am excited to see where it goes
- why? since it seems like the author and these women aren't going to go the typical route because they are older and respect themselves and the audience and women. i hope. women tend to have a more delicate approach but on the other hand we can lean into absolutely toxic stupid horribly written fantasies with internalized misogyny
- it would be nice if we could see it morph into something away from the standard healing drama format—which i cannot stand and it is almost always a marker of people way out of millenials' ages and purview—and just have him destroyed because of what he's doing not find a way for reconciliation. it looks promising in this way
- i don't want to see him change at the expense of others because that's what it would be. every girl he's ever burned and not respected has been harmed yet one bitch solves the problems after you fucking torture her? no thanks. it is absolutely emotional terrorism and the only energy i can bring back is absolute craziness if it continues. na bi seems to want to do that in a revenge that's pretty fucked but it makes sense. show us this bitch pushed to the EDGE. show us the "fuck around and see what happens" mo'
- i know it's not horror but i want something as psychologically beating for him as what he did to others cos men r craaazy bitch it aint worth it (the truth beneath is a great movie for this type of satisfaction)
- so i'm sort of excited to see where it goes and i rly enjoy the two of them even with less acting prowess. at least song kang really makes me fucking hate him here which is exactly why i am avoiding more :) but it's not good if i feel there's nothing redeemable about him which is ...well close. acting skills or writing? who knows we'll see. also they're hot particularly sk but lmao i hate him rn!!!

some issues:
the trailer was pretty stagnant because of the healing drama format and that's reflected in the show's pacing and it's tired loop—i find that to be a mistake and what makes me break from it and become fucking pissed even more. that paired with some wordy material and what needs stronger acting support make it feel not great.

oh a good thing is...i find nothing about their interactions hot and i realized in the trailer when the news came out that my heart sank because the plot drives me nuts. i think it's a good thing that i do not care about the attraction because i know these men, the writers do, we do. i feel nothing but distaste. perhaps these women aren't so far away from millenials after all.

anyways. i really beg people to realize while this is realistic this is not something we should be going through. if the moral of the story sticks to what i believe these women want to say (though i must skip it because frankly it is so fucking painful) men shouldn't treat women like this and people shouldn't treat others like this. it may be realistic but it doesn't mean it's okay and it means it needs to be solved because the themes should be entrapment and rose-colored glasses of the bullshit but not obfuscate and continue to keep two people together who have no business being together to the point that it degrades all the characters and makes the women look like fucking fools. these very large bumps that women seem to disproportionately experience (and we know why and you can see the dynamics play out) are not normal nor are they necessary. they're common bc of our environment and the way we treat each other based on what we have lived.

it really sucks it's so heartbreaking . so fucking heartbreaking. you rely on them for your feelings and self-worth and let them degrade you. ugh it hurts

i don't think this is true though. life is tough for people at this age, for millenials, and there's a lot more we have to do. i am pretty sure that on average things have stayed the same in practices. also there was a sexual revolution in the 70s that affected teh world. this is all to say that i think our practices and ways of having relationships—pre-covid at least—are by and large on the same status. the one thing is the immediate gratification with apps and stuff. but relationships in general are very hard to find; we're all searching for intimacy for the most part in any kind of way it's just hard to come by with a big burden.

it almost shows a lack of respect for people because it's not about looking for other people to be intimate with or have fun with but instead on how you can "get" a target, how they please you, what it does for your self esteem and it is extremely common in men due to the environment. all people are capable but you know; he doesn't respect women very very clearly. like you said, most of these dudes/kinds of ppl don't. it makes me really sad but i hope the moral of this story is to eviscerate his character
