when did i pin it on her? uhhh yes his love for his brother overshadows her. like absolutely? what???? it doesn't mean he loved her less (this is contradictory, but these are different types of love) but YES oh my god? huuuuh? and i'd never defend a man unless i see reason to do so. it's not bc he's the ML, he's pissed me off before, but it's clear to me you've never felt this way before and i am glad, seriously, because it is awful.

i'm not saying the show is perfect and i'm not saying i'm not fast forwarding sometimes or skipping so i can pass things i don't care abt or see them together. but i'm saying this specific thing is incredibly understandable especially in the context the show has set up. i don't think you have to be right to have an opinion, but I disagree with yours and don't think it's vague at all. i think it's missing a big point, so, no, i don't get the drift.
otherwise they wouldn't have written this specific thing? like obviously it sucks for that to happen to this person, this woman, but be real. (and no it doesn't mean i like this second female lead bullshit either. THAT is superfluous, poor writing and not very creative)

i just don't understand the logic. first of all, time passes so there's that. i need to know what you mean by grown—do you mean he's moved on? well, he can't. ever. and that's okay. or do you believe his actions in the show, where he's not reacting like many of us have and do after a prolonged period of time, are invalid because he broke up with his girlfriend after watching his brother die?
sure he's not deadass honest, and she's allowed to feel that, but i'm sorry....his brother, the deepest love, died. i'm speaking SPECIFICALLY about why he did what he did and why your characterization of those actions itself, to me, are inaccurate. and like come on man she can't infer? like what?????????? it's like girl put 2 and 2 together idk.

there's other things that can be critiqued but it's not bad writing at all. this show gets the ins and outs of grief and the scariness of death, that existential dread, ,extremely well. he does need therapy (we all should tbh!) but the breakup wasn't for no reason. he saw his dead brother in the hospital he worked at, as he was literally on the way to go to him. she (chung ha) reminds him of that time, just like the hospital does, and so many people need to start over. the idea that he could 'potentially ditch the FL if another tragedy hits him' is also kind of fucked up. that's a completely different timeline—we /change/, we grow older, he's more removed from it and can cope. and this type of tragedy will NEVER happen again, know why? that was the person he loved most in the world, a child, and his /brother/. it's not like it was one of his parents, who are older, and it's not like one of them died in a freak accident (also traumatizing). a lot of people won't see their dying loved ones in the hospital because it is so fucking hard. imagine working there and seeing your kid brother all bloody then getting on top of him and probably crushing his ribs because you're that desperate.
i am honestly confused at this logic; he didn't ghost her? erhaps they split up because of this type of thinking and misunderstanding of the extreme complexity and pain that is grief. the point is, your life will never be the same; you will do crazy shit, you will be sad, you will be angry, but you will get through it and be able to live your life despite being irreparably changed. that's why if another tragedy were to hit it wouldn't be the same—because it's a fresh start. he's moving forward (again as a changed person) with dong joo, who will always understand him and never ask for more than either of them are ready to give.
also , though i believe he needs therapy, he isn't self-destructive anymore. people have to deal with grief on their own, too. he doesn't need therapy specifically because of this but because it's good to process. however, you can be a well-adjusted human being and just have situational depression or trauma responses, that's why we can't keep it inside like he told the kid. that's why letting it out with dong joo works. i don't think a lot of people understand that because wexpect a certain pattern. though you don't have to be mentally ill to talk to someone, it's not something (mental stuff from grief) that is debilitating to him or keeps him in impossible anguish the way it would for others, so it wouldn't be an immediate need. and it isn't! and good for him, you know?
girl they're hot as fuck!!!! ep 9 beginning made me cry uncontrollably. this show man. also, honestly, i don't…
it's episode 10/16. that's 3 more weeks left of the show. and, most of all, do you know how many dramas take forever to get to this point with couples? there's even worse melodrama. Jealousy incarnate had episodes of bullshit before we got to see them together (I love that show), master's sun took FOREVER (i don't like this show), even it's ok that's love (yes i know i'm doing gong hyo jin but that's my girl. but i also don't like this show) and these are all lauded dramas! there's so many others god even the 4 episode 'soundtrack #1' ruined itself by not being able to package a romance properly. that is draggy. and there's ridiculous miscommunication, stupidity, and melodrama in between the two mains in these types of shows that makes you question if they even like each other beyond having chemistry, if they'll be able to last after the show ends.
the reason these two work, besides their pull to each other and amazing chemistry, is that they /know/ each other. each time they have an argument they come back to each other. and every time they DO argue, the words they say about being upset are really important.. when dong joo told him that she lost the opportunity with the wife because of him but that it wasn't his fault, that her point was he went to find her and he came back to her eventually, that makes it more satisfying and poignant as an argument and shows us they can sort through their issues (and be hot doing it)
i also don't think they're really pushing and puling and i like the pace of the show—think it's fantastic actually for a romance drama that heavily centers death. even the coincides in the show, for me, absolutely work. it's romantic but not romanticizing, it's intimate, it's got a melancholy quality but also a tranquil and hopeful one. dong joo is really bright and amazing and hyeri is doing great sweetie. but more than that, they're not avoiding each other because it's the stupid 'i like you you like me but we can't tell each other' but, rather, the fact that 1) she fucking sees dead people and works in a morgue and funeral home IN A HOSPITAL 2) his brother died, in the hospital he worked at, after having to talk to his superior and be late for their appointment (and it is....not his fault???? at all like idk i saw someone say it was maybe it was a typo but um no) and then!!!!!!!!! 3) SHE SAW SAID DEAD BROTHER!!!! all this makes more sense as obstacles than half the shit that's made where impossible things don't happen..
one more thing—idk how many people have lost someone, esp in the way tae hee has but. look. that shit changes you. people do insane things from grief and it never ends. his brother is never coming back to life, he can never get that day back, he will never see him again. think about that prospect of losing someone, a fucking kid, your younger brother, seeing HIM DIE that being the last image of his kid brother he sees okay. just think about what that would do to you.even 90 year old women can grieve and have it change their lives. grief can literally speed up your death, it can give you delirium, it can immobilize you. the man who's wife died was going to kill himself! when just some odd days before he was so happy to be living. i mean there is no way he, tae hee, the little boy, could possibly be the same. so i haven't finished ep 9, but if chung ha is intrusive, then maybe i can understand that, but her inability to understand is on her. it doesn't mean taht she can't feel pain but tae hee was hurting from something specific; not his mother, not anything else but the fact that his brother is dead. the things people do in grief are unimaginable to other people but it makes absolute sense that he would self destruct at that moment and need a whole new life. think of what the hospital reminds him of and all the people in it. i don't know how others don't understand this but that's precisely why he and chung ha couldn't work out.
ep 9 beginning made me cry uncontrollably. this show man. also, honestly, i don't find this draggy. havent finished ep 9 and i'm gonna write something in a spoiler but so far so good to me with complaints but i can get over them. it's like a lot more enjoyable than almost....all romcom dramas.
this is so cute so far and i agree that teens and their parents should absolutely watch it!!! from any country!…
so far this is cute; i'm iffy on how they handled the "experienced" girl (i have issues with it) but i'm glad they have a girl who has had sex already, and with more than one person (this has no judgement value). but there was a lot of stuff off there; the way she categorized sex and love and risk. and the adult man that slept wit her knowing damn well he shouldn't. it's a tale as old as time; old-ass jawn "has sex" with a young girl and gives her a fucking STD. a lot of people i know went through this. it isn't about her being careful (I mean yes she should) but it's about how that man has no business doing what he did even if she is "of age." i think we view the idea of sexual liberation as sexual availability and the idea of her being a free spirit doesn't exactly translate—it puts her as a stock character instead of someone with wants and needs and who deserves to explore them. idk how else to explain this without going into it more.
however, she was such an understanding person and i can understand why her friends was so judgemental because of her own sexuality struggles though she shouldn't call her that word cause GROSS. idk if they touch on this later, but it doesn't matter what you do; if you're a girl/woman who has all the sex in the world or none at all it DOES NOT MATTER. slut is used to degrade us and tell us being a person is wrong, regardless of what we do, because of our gender. being a sexual being, which we all are by having our organs, is not wrong nor is having sex. it's a good message to have but at least they are telling kids that it's oKAY to have sex, make mistakes, whatever. don't feel bad about it to the extent that you can—just keep going and have fun and sex is fun and a part of life! life is full of amazing things and this is one facet!
this is so cute so far and i agree that teens and their parents should absolutely watch it!!! from any country! please! how exciting that this is from japan and is better than the "teen" shows we have in the US which is way less sexually conservative (but also still so). even ones that touch on topics on sex for teens theyre just...not great and usu played by actual adults but these were teens. idk this is really cool. i've only sen sex mentioned in a japanese drama with teenage girls in transit girls, which i loved seeing, so yes yes yes!
i knew sam would be messy af and dumb, and she is and i love that for her lmao it's still less than okay to me (the show so far) but i love a bitch like this. like yes queen dont ever get it together!!!! becky is an okay actress too, good for her go head girl
NAUR WHAT THIS IS SO GOOD BUT WTF AFTER EP 7 I DIDNT EXPECT THAT AND NOW I DONT WANAN FINISH LMAO
have a tiny crush on choi hyun wook but im old so it's weird for me. but srsly i rly loved his character and si eun as well.
