I agree that sometimes I want to shake Ye Xi till it rattles but... then I remember that until 5 years ago, she was a plant! And since then, she suffered amnesia twice. She's basically an amnesiac root in human form. That she's as self-aware as she is, that's a miracle.

I'm so glad that I didn't listen to the naysayers here and gave it a watch because I'm loving it, everything about it. The drug case, Chi Lu's mysterious past, the glowing thingie in his neck, Dai Xi's identity, the melancholy tone of their romance and of the whole drama... It's so good that I can't get enough!

I mainly want to see it for Li Hongyi. I'm very curious about his part in this drama because I saw him mention that this role was very different from what he'd been playing so far which were all cool and aloof characters whereas Shen Yi was open and warm-hearted, always taking care of everyone.

It's a romance book. Bai Yue's uncle gave it to her to give her some pointers about WHY Bai Yue could possibly be doing all those things for her. Basically, he gave her the old Chinese version of p*rn 😋

Apparently, the book author confirmed that the sequel was a done deal, as in signed on the dotted line and all that, and that the cast would remain the same. Also, Fan Jinwei was told to learn how to use a sword because he would need it!!!

I love that Bai Yue actually has a really good reason for pushing her away and keeping her as far away from him as possible ever since he found out that she could feel his pain. I wonder, though, does she keep coming back from the death because she's linked to him? Since she shared a part of herself with him, as long as he's alive, she will keep coming back, is that the reason why?

Wow, Li Hongyi dropped 24 pounds for this role 👀 He's always been really slim and he had no weight to lose before! No wonder he looks downright fragile in this drama.

I haven't read the book but to me it looks like she basically only "patched" his illness? He isn't cured but he's unwillingly sapping her strength to elevate his symptoms? Because whenever he seems unwell, she gets a headache. But who knows, so intriguing!!!

I loved their underground convo! Cang Qi's "I'm going to kill you! But... are you alright?" was funny. Bai Yue seems kinda resigned to Cang Qi's crazy. When Cang Qi went all, "If you don't do as I say, I will grab my army and murder your whole clan!" Bai Yue just sighed, all, "Yeah, yeah, sure, whatever."

I don't think that Chu Yao's infatuation with Bai Yue can be explained away in a straight way. I mean, he didn't mind Bai Yue possibly roasting and eating his priced pigeon, after all! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Because ep 2 happens 5 years later. Before he was cured, he never left the valley. After he was cured, I guess he roamed the land looking for Ye Xi and by the by curing people.

AFAIK, it's really not. Apparently, the author of the book said it so repeatedly and she really didn't like that people were insinuating something else. If viewers see it in the drama, by all means, it's in the eye of the beholder, but it was never meant that way.

The trailer for episodes 9-10 looks so GOOD! Looks like it will focus on Ye Xi and Bai Yue's relationship! "This is nothing compared to when we saw each other naked!" Everyone: *gasps, clutching their pearls*

She resurrected at least twice, after Tang Yang killed her and after the Crown Prince killed her. That's why Bai Yue keeps following her and protecting her because, like he told Cang Qi, he isn't sure if she really can resurrect every time she's killed.

I think that she acts really well considering how little info she's given and that everyone tells her their own version of her tale. I also really loved that she took revenge in her own hands. I thought she would chicken out at the last moment, so when she went all stabby, I clapped!

I loved it when Bai Yue rode off after lying to her - which she noticed - and she yelled after him, paraphrasing, "You can run but you can't hide!"

The cinematography of Li Hongyi in fur in the snow was honestly *chef's kiss*
