That's what I'm saying. These characters keep making simple, logic-defying decisions for no other reason than to justify what's going to happen in the scene. So lazy.
Two possibilities:- someone comes to rescue Lee Gon.- During the scene, there was a timestop that was not shown.…
Ah, good point, it could have been that, and if so, I'm sure it'll get the same treatment as that flower scene - that is, hope they show some context in the remaining episodes. Tick, tock, tick, tock...
Thank you for the in-depth recount as always! A few things to add to your pot... And I thought this was a good episode (first half only lol)
The lady Noh scene, agreed, it's useless, but I'm a sucker for the modern Korean history elements in dramas, that even if it's totally disconnected to the plot it'll still move me. :D so I forgive this one, but I'm definitely not blind. I know it's a hole until it's explained why the king went to Korea, why did he bring her back, and whether anyone else knew that the flute opened a portal to another dimension. If so, what was it that triggered the uncle in 1994 to pursue it? He'd already been bypassed for the crown for years prior (I think?).
The first scene with LG and PM felt like a big old hog with lipstick on. It looked pretty, but it was so poorly acted and edited, it was hard to watch (besides what was actually said, you already covered that one hehe). Man, if I had to oversee the budget on this production, I'd be face-palming at the utter waste of funds on pretty, but vacuous, scenes.
It took 41 minutes for the first blatant ppl to show up. I was blown away! Bravo! Just for this, 13 climbed to the top of the episode pile for this drama. Even if the story didn't actually move forward, at least there were no disruptive commercial interruptions for the majority of the time. But they more than made up that lost ppl time in the second half, holy crap.
So he says living things sink in the limbo. They can't breathe, they can't see, they sink, yet here he is, riding an unsinking horse, breathing and seeing. Do they die and come back to life when they exit the limbo?
LG wonders if he can stop LL before he takes half of the flute. HELLO this is what I've been saying all along, why doesn't the bad guy just go to the day before he kills the king and steals the damn thing whole???? This drama is so stupid, I swear to God. But like a train wreck, I still can't look away lmao.
Also his conclusion that, if the flute is put back together, then the time stops go away or whatever, the dimensions will not get disconnected. What? Again, omniscient characters with zero evidence, but whatever. Dramas gotta drama.
How did the guy get into Eun Seop's room to begin with? If they knew he was coming, and all those guards were out there, couldn't they prevent him from sneaking in? Again, stupid show is stupid.
The pregnant lady has been useless so far. Same as Sin Jae. Idk, whatever, don't care. None of those swapped doppelgangers have done anything except for the one that ran the bookstore.
Sin Jae and Tae Eul come together and they realize her doppelganger is eating her her banked vacation days, SJ tells her to go right away to the police station to cancel her vacation. LMAO. Priorities?? Wow.
Why didn't Jo Young just order room service for the soju?
It seems that the moment LG realized that was Luna in the room, the director forgot she was there. He had this whole monologue and she just sat there. While he was passing out, why wouldn't she grab the flute and book it? Wouldn't the uncle have sent her in for that? Luna is a massive disappointment and a mess of a character.
I've more thoughts about the time loop, but I don't think it'll actually be interestingly done (ahhh Li Zi Wei, where are you??)
Wait am I dumb or was the whole fake proposal (ikjun master plan) disregarded? It's weird that the writers made…
I wondered about the same thing! I suppose her coming out and approaching him negated the fact that she'd been proposed to..? Feels like a plot hole. I wish they'd shown more of him falling for her. His behavior was always so evasive towards her, except for a couple of scenes in the later episodes (mostly prompted by Ik-jun). To show him already concerned to that extent where he's ridiculously/hilariously waffling by the ER door that early on, and then nothing for most other episodes, feels like a leap.
But Yoo Yeon Seok in a romantic scene is A+++ in my book in any drama, so I'll take shallow for now, and hope they offer better explanations when they come back next year.
I guess he must've felt the (insinuated) sexual tension too! hahaha I mean, she did, right? Turned right around and went back out for coffee, I guess she thought they needed some privacy haha. I guess he was also dressed in a t-shirt, but it's not like he was naked!
Episode 2 was amazing! I love the cooking show concept within this drama. —that clothes measuring scene between…
I liked how she set the ground rules for the asst. director, and he seemed to fall in line. I wish we'd seen Chef Park in the reds that Kang Tae Wan measured him for! The outfit he ended up with was, uh.. yeahh.. lol
It feels like it could have a cruel ending for Kang Tae Wan, but somehow I feel like they'll make it so that he ends up with the brother?
I'm really impressed by Lee Hak Joo, for what little we know about his character so far, he's managed to make a significant impression. Can't wait for more!
I thought this scene had a perfect balance of cheese and heat (a fondue, if you will). We had everything from the porn-y music, to skin, to a sneaky crotch focus, it was risque! Loved it!

I agree, plus the brother is too young/immature (?) for Kang Tae Wan, from what we've seen so far (and his fashion sense, too... uuuuyyy)

I'm rewatching 1 with a couple of friends, will start on 2 soon!!
