I thought the thing about the scar appearing because the double is dead was interesting, but aren't we also assuming the LG double is alive in that hospital and Sin Jae's double is the one in the cemetery? Can we have it both ways? Sure! Why not? :)
I haven't watched 12 yet, need to find a good bottle of wine first.
OOOOOHHHHH YOU FINISHED IT!!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The ending left me crying like a baby. Did you watch…
WQS broke my heart - and what a huge plot twist, to make him such a totally different person than the one we'd known to be WQS until then! I like to think that LZW living as WQS managed to make his parents happier, even if it meant he wasn't living as WQS's true self - but there's no option, he wasn't WQS. Ahhh what a twister, I loved it!
After our exchange here above I had to go back on youtube last night and watch all sorts of clips. I need to rewatch this drama soon, it's too lovely. :')
ikr I started laughing at the end with the helicopter/horses showing up--"Protect her! She is the future queen…
Exactly! I don't understand the thought process for arriving at that creative decision. It seems it was all just for visual effect and excitement, screw storytelling or logic.
Nope! Not the only one. Where were the cops, the swat team that arrived on scene? Or were those self-driving vehicles?…
I had to stop when he started eating her face near the beginning. That transition from him bawling in the kitchen to her reminiscing about that sloppy kiss was so weird and off-putting, I couldn't handle it. They marked a continuity between both scenes with the same song, so it's all part of the same scene, and it was weird af. I had to call a friend and watch the rest with her, otherwise I was ready to drop it there. We're pre-partying for Saturday's so I know 12 will be the best episode yet! Nothing like drunk hate-watching this drama lmao
am I the only one who laughed at the end of ep 11 when the horses showed up with Gravity playing in the background...…
Nope! Not the only one. Where were the cops, the swat team that arrived on scene? Or were those self-driving vehicles? The bad guys got mowed down like bowling pins.. Did they really just hang out on the road wielding 2x4 wood planks against horses and swords? And... Horses and swords? What? Lmao. The battle cry of the future queen, dude, was that yell meant for the cops that were in their cars having coffee and donuts?
Funny enough, twotm also aired a special on the 22nd (unsure if at the same time, though) and it had ratings lower…
Yes!! Try it out, just know it's not "slow", it's literally nothing happens hahaha. But give it a try - it's the same writer and director (i think it's that combo) as for A Man and a Woman - and if you haven't watched this one, make sure you do. It's the ultimate Gong Yoo appreciation movie lol. I like to think of Come Rain or Come Shine as the aftermath of the affair in A Man and a Woman. They're both interesting studies in relationships coming undone.

The movie Come Rain or Come Shine. Nothing happens in the entire movie, but you get to witness like a fly on the wall the slow unraveling of a married couple. I found it fascinating as a study - it's like a still life painting - and because Hyun Bin with messy hair and cooking for his wife is a sight to behold :D (LMH is not my deal, but if you want to talk HB, Gong Yoo, Yoo Yeon Seok, Ryu Jun Yeol, and a few others, I'm all ears haha)

<3 <3 <3 my husband loves saying that, our tastes do vary very widely in some areas, so he's always reminding me it's okay if he doesn't like the same things I do. But I've turned him onto kdramas and now he's trapped ;) hahaha
I'm glad the drama is still filming, I hope they keep course-correcting because they still have a chance. I'm always reminding myself that Mr. Sunshine got REALLY good, for me, on the 18th episode, 3/4 of the way through. I kept reading about people crying so much and consuming entire boxes of tissue papers, and I was like, what? why lol? Then it got there and oh boy, it's now one of my favorites. I agree with you on this, she set the bar so high, but she can't also win them all. Lessons for her next drama!

In the end, my hope is that your enjoyment isn't contingent upon ratings, other people's opinions, or other objective or subjective criteria. One of my most enjoyable experiences in k-ent is rated 6.0 here in MDL :D so there's that.

I wouldn't worry about the actors, they're still getting paid. And I think the concept is intriguing, but the way the story is written, shot, and edited, is poor. But (and I had to auto-translate this haha) pour le goût, les couleurs. In art appreciation, ways of seeing are as varied as the number of people appreciating such.
I don't know how big LMH is in Korea vs internationally - myself, i don't get his appeal at all. A friend explained it better than I can -- He looks so western to me, and there are many more attractive western actors out there - but I suspect the fangirls are carrying the views on Netflix internationally. And that's okay, fangirls move mountains! And when you don't have the cultural filters turned on like the native audience does, then maybe that's a key difference as well.

"If you were smart enough to understand the drama you'd have figured out there were aliens, too" - win :D
Episode 11 was amazing and the best so far !!!So why Korean ratings are still so low ?!!!! Between 5.2 and 6.6…
Funny enough, twotm also aired a special on the 22nd (unsure if at the same time, though) and it had ratings lower than tkem. Finally I hope people understand that twotm was *never* the problem, it never overlapped by more than ~10 mins. Maybe demographics also wasn't much of an overlap, but I have zero clue about that.
Perhaps because it is too much cheesy for them ? I don't mean it badly but for example I hate to see something…
I've a Taiwanese friend that only watches kdramas, no c or tdramas, because the level of cheese in her native tongue is too much to tolerate. I can totally see that and relate with Spanish (my native tongue) and telenovelas
Is it just me or does the king have way too much power for a constitutional monarchy? The whole "king's word is…
Putin would be proud of the "constitutional monarchy" Lee Gon has established. :D I saw the bit where he declared he was taking over the investigation of the Prince's death, and I almost spit my coffee out laughing.

Love it, nothing like sharing a drama with a friend, that much better if it's a *good* drama ;) I agree, LZW is one of the best. I wish we'd learned more about his background while in high school, like we learned about her doppelganger.
I loved how her mission expanded from saving her doppelganger to saving all of them, essentially. And the story behind the switch between LZW and his doppelganger, WOW. Heartbreaking. How amazing to see him finding her again, and winning her over every time. Awww makes me want to cry. THAT'S how you do time travel / doppelganger love.
But you see how well they explained the time loops? Between the scene at the airport with the phone swap, and the deaths prevented and fulfilled, daaaang. And the death in the alley? See, that's what I was expecting to see with Lee Gon. Kill him off in that standoff with the Japanese, and kick off a trip back in time on a loop, and see them break it off at some point. Shoulda coulda woulda.

I watched the first two, and Yook Sung Jae is such a darling, so adorable, I could watch him read the phone book <3 I can't wait to see his character break free from that curse, whatever it is.
The drama is dark! But coated in pink marshmallows! I like it :) and the lady's lipstick is my new goals - Lee Gon needs to take pointers on that, too LOL
