His First/Eldest Uncle is True God Zhiyang. Yuanqi calls him this in E49. He wouldnβt call Bai Jue his Second…
Yeah same here, and some of the translations is not direct as per what's written in chinese. Which is kind of sad, but I do hope that they will keep some parts in especially when some of the things Bai Jue said to Yuan Qi, he referenced himself as his father to Yuan Qi, like the part when he told Yuan Qi he will show him how to catch the fish the proper way, he said "father will teach you", which I think they might change that to "I will teach you", although it is the same thing, but part of it is lost in context since I love how in chinese "father" was used as a reference when Bai Jue said it to Yuan Qi.
As for first, second and third, I think its in reference to the trio, how Zhi Yang is the elder brother, Bai Jue is the middle (second eldest) and Tian Qi is third but yes, Bai Jue wouldn't be 2nd uncle to Yuan Qi because he's Yuan Qi's father.
Has anybody read the novel? If yes do we get a better closure to their story? Also how did it do in china for…
I can tell you that the drama ending is better than the novel ending, because at least they get to hug and be in each other's embrace, happily. Novel ending didn't have that. In the novel, when Shang Gu saw Bai Jue again, she asked:
"You are Qing Mu?" "You are Bo Xuan"
Bai Jue replied saying: "Shang Gu, I am Bai Jue"
And then, no hug, nothing, but we get texts and words expressing how happy this moment is to her (that Bai Jue has returned)..... and that's..... "The end"....
What episode are you on now? Bai Jue don't have amnesia. He's just lying and make it seem like he doesn't have his memories when he was Qing Mu, but it is evident and revealed already that he have complete memories when he returned
If you're watching this without subs, do you even understand the story and what they're saying because you seem…
Like you said, you skipped a few scenes, so how do you expect to understand the story as a whole? You need to watch it properly to be able to understand the story and to have better insight to the characters.
If that is how you feel about them not being the same (even when it was in revealed they are the same), then we can agree to disagree here.
Qing Mu to me is just the side to Bai Jue, without being tied down to his responsibilities, and his past memories of Bai Jue. He is Bai Jue to me, but he isn't the complete Bai Jue because he doesn't have these memories, and responsibilities that Bai Jue does.
It is the same as Hou Chi and Shang Gu.
But honestly at this stage , if this is how you perceive the story and characters, then we do see it very differently.
I suggest you watch ep47-49 again when subs is out without skipping any scenes since that would help you understand the story and characters better..
Its always good to rewatch the drama from the beginning too, since you might pick up some details you might have missed on your first watch.
Honestly, for those people in here, who have watched this far into the story, and still could not understand Bai Jue's perspectives, his pain, suffering (which he's been enduring all this time silently) by putting up a tough front since he's not going to let Hou Chi/Shang Gu know he's hurting too.... because he wants her to forget about him, for her own good, but as viewers, you are getting front row seats.... How can you still dismiss his concern and worries for Hou Chi/Shang Gu, when it was clearly evident in his body language and actions that he cares for her??? It's clearly there!
Even watching this far and you still not understand him, then, I am convinced that those people are either sleeping through these details presented in the story or we are watching an entirely different drama at this stage.
It is already explained, that Qing Mu is Bai Jue and is a part of him, so when they became one, they are ONE. This is the same with Hou Chi when Shang Gu got her memories back of the time when she's Hou Chi. In the end, both Qing Mu and Hou Chi can have their own identity and personality being different to Bai Jue and Shang Gu, respectively is because they are not tied down by their responsibility as "True God" and they do not have their past memories, so they are more carefree to love each other without these responsibilities and memories of the past... And if anyone even paid close attention, Bai Jue can still show a cute and sweet side to him the same way Qing Mu can, I don't have any doubts that if the tragedy didn't happen 60,000 years ago, Bai Jue and Shang Gu would have had their own version of Qing Mu and Hou Chi sweet love. Because they showed me they could and Bai Jue, more than once have shown me he can express that sweet/cute side to him, even in their last day, before Shang Gu sacrificed herself, that one day they spent together, Shang Gu said "Why are you so sweet to me today" and Bai Jue's response to that was, "It's not impossible" indicating that if they are given more time, and if the tragedy didn't happen, they could have gotten together sooner and have that kind of sweet love they could have had. This is why Qing Mu and Hou Chi's love and getting together is an extension to Bai Jue and Shang Gu, because its what they wanted to have with each other, but couldn't....Gu Jun even said to Qing Mu that them(Qing Mu and Hou Chi) getting together makes up for Bai Jue and Shang Gu's regret, because that's the kind of love they want for each other, but didn't get to experience it due to the tragic events that happened in the past.
Honestly to me, Qing Mu and Hou Chi never died. They lived inside them, so when Bai Jue and Shang Gu got their happiness in the end, it is the same as Qing Mu and Hou Chi getting their happy ending, because I see that Qing Mu is Bai Jue and Hou Chi is Shang Gu, just under a different identity. BOTH Bai Jue and Shang Gu is just the COMPLETE version of Qing Mu and Hou Chi to me....
Ok i just watch the last 3 eps without subs and i gotta say i wasnt really satisfied, i kinda feel like Shanggu…
If you're watching this without subs, do you even understand the story and what they're saying because you seem to be missing out a lot of key points in your interpretation, which has already been explained. This whole thing about hating Bai Jue and not doing anything.. Maybe you need to see this from his perspectives...
Those lines from Bai Jue was foreshadowing the path he would be on, whether if it was for Shanggu or the Three…
This is is why for me, if those other people paid attention to these details of the first life in the God Realm, Bai Jue does take time to warm up/open up, but when he does, as we can see he did with Shang Gu, you can really see traits of Qing Mu as well, although unlike Qing Mu, where he is more open with his feelings, Bai Jue, to me, just takes time, and yes, especially at that time when he apologised to Shang Gu, Bai Jue can still be sweet and cute like Qing Mu can, this is why for me, if the tragedy did not happened back then they would have been able to be together and have their own version of Qing Mu and Hou Chi's kind of love. Qing Mu is Bai Jue, but he's the version to him when he's freed from his responsibilities and past memories of Bai Jue.
That hug he returned her in ep 5, you can see the cold barrier he have set up to keep everyone at a distance is being thawed by Shang Gu when he returned it. I mean not even Zhi Yang could get a hug from him in ep 1 when they met again, despite they have known each other and grew up together.
Wait I'm on ep 17 and I'm very confused on how bai ju became boxuan then qinmu π will it be revealed in the…
Bo Xuan is Bai Jue behind a mask. He uses another identity as "Bo Xuan" so he can take care of Hou Chi before she's grown up. He is also hiding the truth that he's alive from the Three Realms, that's why he changed his identity and hide behind a mask, so he can ensure no one can interfere with his plans.Β
I won't get into the details about his plans since it will be revealed later.
As for Qing Mu, you will also get your answer later when you watch on.
Rewatching the drama again, this part in Ep5, got me teary π Just this scene alone you can see that the high…
Shang Gu: The ancestral god was really harsh on you when you were a kid.
Bai Jue: I'm used to it. I used to be a loner. And I will still be one in the future.
Shang Gu: Bai Jue, not everyone is indifferent and timid in the world. The relationship between people should be kind and warm. From now on, I will always be with you. I'll accompany you to cultivate, study and drink. When the weather is clear, we can go out and fly a kite. From now on, I won't leave you alone anymore.
And well these are promises she made to him and she meant every word when she said that to him at the time, but when it comes to her accepting her destiny as the chief god, she had to take it all back and do what she needs to for the peace of the 3 realms despite Bai Jue begged her to not go through with it. And what happens later? During that time when Shang Gu was gone, Bai Jue was left alone with the grief and sorrow he felt in losing herπ
Rewatching the drama again, this part in Ep5, got me teary π Just this scene alone you can see that the high expectation and responsibilities placed on Bai Jue when he was a kid, he sure had it hard π
They didn't get to hug in the novel, so what do you think? After Bai Jue came back, Shang Gu asked: "You are Qing Mu?" .... And then "You are Bo Xuan".... And then Bai Jue said: "Shang Gu, I am Bai Jue", and unlike the drama where Bai Jue smiled at her when he said that, the novel don't have that. And unlike the drama lets them hug and be in each others embrace happily, the novel just end with words/texts expressing that nothing can be as perfect as this moment now for her (because Bai Jue's back). And that's.... "The End" in the novel.
Off topic. This question if for anyone who lives in China or experienced living in China. Are relationships in…
I can literally say this back to Western dramas. For all the Western Drama's I've seen, their love never lasts, and I don't like the trope of repeatedly seeing a pairing going through so much to show their love, and then another male comes in to give an LT and then later, she ends up with another male... I mean, after all the hardships of showing the couple (in western dramas) love each other so much, and then in the end, they break up and the female ends up with another male... Is just -___- to me, and I am like, where's the true/faithful love?? This is why between Chinese Dramas and Western Dramas, Chinese Dramas, in terms of romance relationships, it's more faithful to me when compared to Western ones.
Western ones, like: Charmed(Cole and Pheobe), True Blood (Sookie and Bill), Vampire Diaries(Stefan and Elena), Buffy the Vampire Slayer(Angel and Buffy), to name a few, is so disappointing to me. But I won't get into that topic, since it will indeed be off topic in here.
