what ep are you at? i finished ep 32 last night & i Don't think all wen clan people actually surrendered, we saw only wen qing and wen ning going there to surrender themselves... i believe there's more into the story, i think they all were ambushed in the burial mounds by "that person" (Meng yao?) and were brought back to jin clan (to take credit from leader jin or to accomplish his own goal?) and later got killed...
I find wen ning and wen qing's decision right though,they wanted to surrender to protect the rest of the clan and wei ying for sure,that was a bold decision for specially wen qing...

they're indeed using standard Mandarin to interact here,this director chen's few words are sometimes very clear (i think he has a microphone on somewhere near him?while xiao zhan's part is totally lip-reading dependant)... i saw this Director's profile, it says he's from HongKong, so he probably has an Unrecognizable weird version of cantonese as his own first language haha which is not what he's using here though ,and xiao zhan doesn’t have strong accent when he usually speaks in real life, unless when he deliberately uses his chongqing dialect to interact on sets as seen in some bts..i don't think in this Video he used his dialect to interact with the director's standard mandarin, but as I'm not an expert or a Chinese so i Can't give any guarantee about my claims.

Amidst a hella busy week, i finally finished the last episode... i liked the ending a lot,it gave us 2 possibilities of "what if" (& the Ending credits where everyone is convicted of crimes of some sort and received punishment gave this a good wrap up of the storyline)....The ultimate message of ep 16 is "Amateurs can never outplay professionals" , which reminded me of China's recent new law for influencers and content creators "you can't cover a serious professional topic unless you have a verified degree or certified qualification for it"
As someone working in a specialized professional field, i think It's high time every country in the world enforces a law like this so that i wouldn’t have to listen to some chatgpt shit about my professional expertise every now and then.
