Can't agree more about Run Yu and Situ Ling, the character arcs of them were similar ! just like how i was rooting for Run Yu in AOL for most of the time (can't describe how happy i was when he got his revenge on that evil heavenly empress) , i was rooting for Situ ling to some extent in Litc too (i was happy he got to avenge Himself Against his brothers (who were appearing like hydra, if one gone another one appears lol i lost count)
side note - i love the actor of situ ling since love like the Galaxy, yes he's HOT!

SAME..! one of the best parts of this drama for me was the fact that they got rid of initial villain mu qibai's arc in the middle and a new antagonist arc started in later episodes so unlike many dramas where villains get too boring and unwatchable towards the end as the story progresses (& i want to break my screen lol) , here I was all hooked up and looking forward to the final battle when our main couple & their gang would fight against the ultimate evil together side by side...Also the writer gave situ ling character the depth that was needed for the purpose of his Actions and emotions Which is What I've needed in many dramas where villains just lack a strong reasoning

Subeoms didn’t do that...there was always a number of toxic people who call themselves part of hyeppyendings or uchetongs (solo fanbases) and started fanwars back then too...Don't mind them,arguing and crossing lines happened in LR era and post-LR era too,no matter what the actual subeom fandom or Tongtong's or hyeppyendings never get engaged in those nasty things.

He was obviously a loveable character initially, helped them like you said a couple of times in middle episodes too, It's Only later episodes that he completely became kinda annoying 😅 watch further to know more 😅 i personally agree with you bcz i felt the same, he is more pityful and pathetic than hateful. He stayed in his delusions till the end 😂
