My perspective is that by not telling her about their fate being linked to the sect, he was giving her a chance…
I think it was not a choice he should have made alone. Tell her - then tell her your decision and stick to it if you so desire. She a full grown person that he supposedly loves, no respect however
I think it's redundant for us because we see it over and over again in Xianxia. But I think this type of manipulation…
Well, he trusted her words enough to lie to FL moments later and break her heart on the spot, who turns his back while another person is relentlessly crying on the ground? Think it was unnecessary cruel
I think it's redundant for us because we see it over and over again in Xianxia. But I think this type of manipulation…
But that aunt had just lied to him and betrayed him about something else and just as he was angry at her, next thing he trusts her again .. naivety is one thing, getting manipulated about the new thing at the same moment you're trying to get out of last manipulation from SAME person, that's wild 😅
Plot and premise are pretty much old school. It is typical ML is freaking OP god/immortal and need detached from…
Yes, this seems to be a more traditional one. I remember LBFAD being much more different than most Xianxias.and hoped to see more like that or better even newer than that. Thought here ML would not be like those mentor-type cold men, he started different but what happened - he made same things.those mentor.cold guys used to do, too. Hopefully FL's phoenix transformation is satisfying enough
Hahahaha. I think I already understood from which part of haters you are coming from. The Last Immortal is known…
You're not the brightest of the bunch, are you? Hahahahha I can already tell from which part of loser keyboard warriors you are, go heal your inner wounds ,child , you desperately need some character growth💔 And it's so funny how you wrote a whole paragraph hating on a perfectly valid opinion of someone you don't know.
Your place is on a fan war page, MDL is not for disrespectful users like you. The world we live in is known to be a place where I can say whatever I want to say, for whichever drama I want to. I am path breaker in a platform where you are an overused hater classic. So proud there are many people like me who choose to be unbothered and give their opinions freely - criticism included, of course. Anyone expressing opinions despite keyboard warriors like you is something everyone loves seeing
I see comments saying that the ml is so protective of the fl! Where did that protection get her? lol. I am happy…
True, it got her on the ground, sobbing for the aesthetic of the scene :) I see it as control - that protection. In most xianxias MLs decide what's right for the FL and call it protection for her good - that's such a gaslight and disrespect. These guys don't have any idea what a normal relationship and communication is and how to treat and respect women(and human being for that matter) - he basically still sees her as a child and even lies to her, it's so twisted.
Deciding the wholle fate of someone, being dishonest for "peotection"??? And the excuse is that he's young and doesn't know any better?? Their "relationship" looks more like a toxic parent-child relationship than anything else and that's with many Chinese dramas where the ML takes full control over the FL: withholding information - taking away her right to be present in her own life, to make her own choices - I think it shows some cultural aspect at this point, the fact that it's viewed as just a sign of ML's "innocent pure mind" and "love for her" is how normalised this abuse is , even for viewers.
There isn't a greater villain in a Xianxia than a partner that loves their own idea of what's good more than the person they claim to "love".
Gu Jin was so easy to manipulate, he barely put a fight to it. It's more like the typical xianxia plot point where misunderstabding should occur, doesn't matter if it's at the expense of logic or character's strength to use their brain. Overall drama is fresh and keeps me watching but last ep was so cliche, it felt like every other Xianxia I've watched when a main character is tricked by another character he really doesn't trust (who actually broke their trust JUST a second ago and showed to him that she doesn't deserve to be trusted anymore hah) but he decided to believe them because he must fail a character he actually trusts(the FL) so that he can be sorry later on, after the innocent are punished because if the dumb. This is "character growth" for xianxia lol
for me, that 's reverse growth - ML showed that he had critical thinking just an ep ago but then he SUDDENLY didn't and his emotions was easy to use, like veeeery easy, it was not even an intricate manipulation, it was child's play. A Yin, you deserve better.
But maybe it's for the better for you because while your character is good, your main thing in life shouldn't be a boy like other users have pointed out. Stop with this marriage thing, it's time we see character growth with A Yin, she is the same for too long now, I want change for her. Didn't want it in the typical Xianxia stupid misunderstanding way though, that took from the freshness of the drama, it's a low level, low quality plot move and they better stop overusing it, it's too much to see it almost in 2024 - those are years of overusing, stahp it, seriously it'a not a good look on any drama. Come up with something new cause we have them classics already - replicaring is not needed for every new watchers' generation - that's laziness, not "tradition"
And I want more development with the fox and the eagle!!! They're my favourite "couple" and Im rooting for them, waiting for the ship to sail.! Give them main leads the break that they already need from eachother and show us something else on the romance front 💕 Actor of Hong Yi is charismatic and knows how to create chemistry
I really don't like their mom... she has anger issues(she's aggressive towards her own family in every single episode, always shouting at them), is very cold and doesn't show even a bit of.love. Korean dramas are full of these "prideful" moms that treat their children like crap unfairly. I know she loves them but showing that is the just as important. Ahe presents herself as such a victim in life, honestly it's narcissistic
She didn't even believe at first in Samdal's innocence while her friends believed, that was difficult to watch - means she doesn't care to get to know her own daughter beyond the age of her as a child....she is so critical of her daughters, projecting her own insecurities and views on them...so typical of emotionally unavailable parents, it's not fair nor right. The moment I see her cold angry expression I want to skip to next scene. Many parents are like that, not just Asian, but wish such characters won't be in every drama and shown as if they're loving and truly care, giving "tough love". No, they're showing abuse
Also, the constant hitting...yeah, I know it's probably cultural but.. seriously 😑 I am myself part of a more "traditional" culture but grown people should at least be more respectful in 21st century. For now the character is not layered so I can't warm up to her in any way
The woman has not smiled once looking at her daughters as if they're criminals. If she wants the best for them - talk to them, say it, they're not at the age to be disciplined like little kids. Also, they've done nothing wrong - they're all adults that made tough life choices, just like everyone else and now may need some human connection to recharge before they know what different path to choose , quite normal Everyone is free to choose and learn from this, her inability to accept that is more akin of a child's reaction and a form of emotional manipulation with her victim-jogging than anything else. Also didn't like how people's opinion was more important to her than the truth, she wanted to "proove" them so much her daughter didn't do it but never consoled her or had an earnest conversation with her, taking her as a normal human being that is also her daughter . These girls really need to stay away from their family, especially their toxic mother
And don't get me started on the little girl...this controlling condescending behaviour shown in a little kid. It's unrealistic and to me it's not even fun
It was interesting fir half of an episode but dedicating a whole episode for this subplot?? Too much - they're not even main characters. And Im not saying that there should always be only two main leads, sone dramas have more but in this there just aren't - so this was a whole ep given for the story of side characters when the main one should be the focus since it's moving the plot forward, it's how the show is made. It totally changed the tone if the drama
And the reincarnation trope is...yeah, an easy way to include dramatic conflict. I agree with other users, when it's overdone it becomes a bore. So wanted to give this drama a higher rating! But they have obe good ep followed by a more lackluster one...I miss the dog days and Yul
Script for last two episodes was so much better..this felt like the first two, a filler episode with unnecessary scenes that added nothing to the plot. Visually the last scene was good, yes
Only 24 episodes what the hell….I’m used to 40 episodes 🤣
I'm the opposite - so not a fan of 40 episodes dramas, they always drag and are difficult to finish. 24 ep dramas is a perfect length, the plot will hopefully be cohesive with no unnecessary storylines. Also the production value is better with a shorter series. Quality over quantity
This takes me foreeeeeeever to finish, it's such a long drama like almost always with Chinese historicals (this needs to change pleeeeeaaaseee, 20 epa are enough) . I started with so much excitement for this but layer was on the verge of dropping so many times, by the end I watched on x1.5 speed and still I have two eps left. The pace and many characters and plotlines are just not interesting to me anymore but I must say in this drama Zhang Ling He surprised me so much - he was the true star with the strongest performance and presence.
Bai Lu, which I really like but I just now realize - her roles are not that different in the shows she is in. In a way, she always plays herself and here I feel she didnt quite deliver on her part. As for ZHL - I've watched him now in three dramas abd he is ALWAYS different, an entirely different character and I like that approach abd that he is brave and capable to do it. But this role is his best. In MJTY I loved the plot, the better supporting cast, the production and everything but his character was not my favourite - here I dont really like the supporting cast's stories and performances, the draggy plot, much less the awful production, but he seems to have found the perfect character to show his talent. Hope he plays more strong roles in the future, Im really interested to watch him again!
Also, a very "serious" note 🧐:Last kiss was very good and new for a Korean drama but the FL needs to step up…
I am just sick of people (men and other women both) constantly putting women in tiny boxes, making them be nothing more than an aesthetic, putting every single moral obligation on their shoulders, making sure they look subservient enough in the little gestures even. I also think it's entirely cultural.
It is completely alright for the woman to be the receptive partner in a relationship, for the man to be the active role but like....she looked like a dead fish abd she loves him, how is expressing that a bad thing? This is not what feminine looks like if thats what they thought. Femininity is so much more and much nore beautiful
Not surprised coming from Kdrama but still a little disappointed
What a fun and wild episode! hahaYul was just so dramatic and over the top, love that precious boy!Couple had…
Also, a very "serious" note 🧐: Last kiss was very good and new for a Korean drama but the FL needs to step up her game!!! Why are women in Kdramas always so passive, especially here the contrast is big - like, do you want this or are you there just because?!? Show that you care, it's not shameful to want physical intimacy. Maybe they thought she would look cute and innocent like that which is so ...weird, I will never get it. Women can be full of passion and have desires and still look "gentle", do I even need to clarify?? Nothing more beautiful than passionate women that can give and take openly with their partner. Wish Korean drama society gets that!! The "pure" aesthetic they're going for just doesnt really attract me Still, a very good episode
What a fun and wild episode! haha Yul was just so dramatic and over the top, love that precious boy! Couple had some very nice and funny moments, too 😜 finally the old pace is back after the last two weaker eps. This drama is good at humour and cuteness and ofc chemistry Just whyyyyyy one week again?!?! Whyyyy
Kim yoo jung on the other hand is doing an amazing job. Her acting in emotional scenes and comic scenes both are…
Absolutely in these two dramas the women are carrying it al, an I mean ALL. Male leads don't help a bit lol
I am watching the male actors foe the first time in these dramas I think, and I am disappointed to say the least. And here I hear he is so famous but don't think it's deserved, this praise. If they chose a more talented and expressive, fire actor that could stand level to the female lead it would be 100 times better. Tha tango dance was the only time he was leading soomethibg (meaning it only literally)haha Every other scene it's totally hers, even if he tries (and by the looks of it, he doesnt try a lot)
Thought here ML would not be like those mentor-type cold men, he started different but what happened - he made same things.those mentor.cold guys used to do, too.

I still can't watch ALP because Xu Kai looks like a lil baby lol I cant think of him as a believable god
