was korea the only country japan invaded and tortured? it's not only about japan and korea. whether the men who did bad things are dead today doesn't mean the country shouldn't apologize to ALL the victims. you're so disgusting.
i'm definitely currently airing and drama google, although i try to avoid spoilers of the dramas i haven't watched. but still know pretty much everything else about them. about currently airing, it's come to a point where i actually find it harder to start a completed drama and binge-watch it (probably cuz i'm old and don't have much free time anymore), than to start a drama that only has 1-4 eps released lol. it's easier for me to wait for future eps than to binge-watch nowadays, unless the drama is really really good and involving since the first 1-2 eps.
you are a literal racist try being black and PEOPLE CONSTANTLY telling you that Africa has no water not to mention…
you're clearly not black so YOU can't determine what is racist and what isn't, especially when black people are the ones calling this out. if you can't see the BLATANT racism in the writing of this drama, YOU are clearly racist. whether the stats you provided are real or not, it still doesn't take away the fact that this drama portrayed Africa as:
1) a monolith country (not once did they even name an African country, because obviously who cares to mention one or even know the name of an African country, right?)
2) terribly stereotyped as if African people are just accessories to show the benevolence of volunteers in richer countries (if you don't know how problematic this type of volunteer work is, then really shut up. it's far beyond "people helping people")
3) impoverished, with no clothes, shoes, food, clean water. before you pull up any stats, i'm not saying there isn't poverty and other terrible problems in Africa (as in several non-African countries in the world), but the problem is to keep showing this narrative that Africa is nothing but desert and sun. did it really not rub you any off the fact that they mentioned like 5 times that you NEEEEED sunscreen in Africa? like what was all that for?
"being black is not a precondition for anything unless you are racist", no, YOU are literally so wrong. you clearly don't give a fuck about black people's struggles and only jump to share an opinion that no one asked for when it's about silencing black people's voices when they have all rights to be upset and offended at this drama. clearly, you are showing being black is a precondition to not be able to share your opinions and well justified complaints towards an extremely racist portrayal of your continent of origin.
really wonder if you can even name 5 African countries and locate them on a map.
this controversy is absolutely deserving and the writers and directors NEED to apologize for it. simply changing the lion king's song from the online release without saying anything further is not enough.
also as a final note for you and other mdl users, if you are not black you don't get to say whether this drama is or isn't racist. it's not you who this drama offended. i am not black either, so don't take my opinion either as a fact. listen to black people instead when they complain about things like this and educate yourselves before letting your very racist inner self jump out.
i don't think you're overreacting at all and you have all rights to be this mad about it. i'm not african and i was immediately turned off and very pissed off about the whole mention and portrayal of africa, i can't imagine how bad it must be for you. it's horrible and unimaginable that to this day people still act like there's nothing wrong with doing sh!t like this. of course, it was never okay to do it, but i just can't believe it still happens and nobody in the production thought there was anything wrong with it. every mention of africa in kdramas is this bad fr. i'm so sorry you have to see this kind of shit so often.
it was very boring for me. i watched it in 1.5x since like ep 7 or 8. it started off promising but fell through shortly after. still, the last 2 eps weren't as bad as most of the drama, and i actually enjoyed the last ep. it was cute. for me it went from 6 to 7 just bc the ending wrapped things up quite nicely (better than other dramas that were more entertaining).
The title has Doberman, it’s an analogy of hunting dog and faithful to owner….it’s rare for drama to have…
how did he bluff when he came up with most of the plans and took down physically the villains all the time? cha wooin was just as smart and physically capable as him, but the show didn't have to be named "military prosecutors do baeman and cha wooin" lol like the fact that both leads got enough attention and abilities doesn't mean the title is misleading or anything. and how did do baeman get overshadowed by yoon moongu when he eventually lost everything, as well as no hwayoung. at the end of the day, do baeman and cha wooin stood till the end. i really don't see how he was overshadowed at all.
I liked the drama but the ending felt a bit rushed, I mean it was really a pathetic excuse of a trial for No Hwa…
they had testimonial evidence as well as all the files in the patriotic x-files and won kichoon's files. sure there was no clarification on the murder accusations but oh well

i'm not spreading BS? i literally read posts about their reaction. if you don't believe me look it up yourself. never did i say jpn people aren't normal people. obviously netizens don't speak for the entire country, and the acceptance of war crimes is still a pending issue. both statements are true.
it doesn't matter to the story how they found her. ep 5 ends with her calling solomon and ep 6 starts with her in the hospital. it's a given that she was found, that she revealed her location bc no one could find her all those years, so she revealed it herself. it's irrelevant where she was - the point of the story was simply for her to be found. the ep doesn't skip anything relevant. not everything needs to be shown for the story to make sense. the viewer should be able to follow it.
I was wondering what's the reaction of Japanese watching this? Will Japanese accept their history?
they don't like it. apple tv is not even officially streaming it in japan, which jpn netizens claim is in order to avoid backlash. they say this is distortion of history bc japan "never invaded south korea" as they deny everything that the empire of japan did in neighboring countries.
