I really hope it will end in a happy ending. I love HS and FJM, so what if the did they did infidelity ? Since…
u never know, half-way getting their act together, (wow, Sifu is impatient, on the floor, really?) Shao Zi ge comes knocking on the door, urgent information update! LOL
I don't know if infidelity applies here. The Emperor knows it was a ploy to ensure she doesn't get stoned for hiding her gender/identity. If we go by the books, sure, she ain't supposed to dally with another man. But the Emperor made it clear to Ti Lan that he has no interest in her whatsoever and considers her as his subordinate. The only problem I can see with them being together like this, is if someone gets wind of it and makes a big deal about the so-called infidelity. Otherwise, there is nothing untoward about them being together.
looks like consummation finally happens in E45/46 and he finally tells her he loves her. Good for them both. No…
do be prepared though as in the cast, there is a young Crown Prince who is standing next to Yang Mi in a leaked photo. Also in the trailer, Yang Mi looks like she's dressed as a regent of sort/empress, ascending the steps to the palace.
If JC attacks Emperor..That will affect FJM and he will die..Yes.. If shifu dies..The JC again attempts to kill…
Looks like that can't be the only reason she is bringing the mermaid to land. because in the preview, she tells an unconscious sifu, that it's time she does something for him.
i know, that's how i felt. tbh, she made that same point to Sifu in a subsequent episode. She asked him why she…
Yup, I think she lost her purpose in life. tbh, her purpose was to be by his side, support him and do what she could to further his cause, which has all along been King and country. She felt betrayed and lost hope... there really was no reason for her to go on at that point...she would rather choose death than be pushed away in this manner. But the good thing about her is she is quite resilient, and after she regained her senses, she had one more purpose - to break the bai xi bond. Also, her sense of duty towards king and country is just like her master's. I suppose it's having his influence rub off on her and the way she has been moulded from young. So, when the country is in dire need, she will stand to occasion. These little distractions at least give her a cause to move on in life.

I see this drama has high ratings and a lot of positive reviews but honestly, I'm currently skipping watching…
You are right, the court politics and stabilising the kingdom is a huge part of the story as well. The romance weaves itself through that plot or should I say the court politics and the kingdom's affairs weave themselves through the romance (have it whichever way you like it). It's as the director put it: a story about the main characters' growth.
More pronounced is Hai Shi as she grows from a gangly, wide-eyed girl, who adores her master to a young woman who takes on the responsibility of protecting the Kingdom and its people, and learning to come to terms with her love for her master. The other characters also grow, the Emperor learns to come to terms with death and a grieving heart and the Master learns to let someone in his heart, and to put himself first after sacrificing himself for King and Country.

I saw a trailer where the mermaid was revealed in an aquarium. I suspect the cart all boxed up holds the mermaid. Though for the life of me I have no idea why she would want to cart the mermaid to land, unless of course it's because Sifu can't go to the seaside so the mountain comes to Mohamed, and her intention is to bring the mermaid to Sifu to heal him. I mean it's not like she needs to prove her association with the mermaid/Dragon Tail being to the bunch of idiots in court, right?
lol, good point! and he's got a smirk now, instead of a sleepy look.
That is true. Despite his initial tantrum throwing and abusive behaviour, he is actually a smart king who is actually capable of being decisive and making sound decisions. He knows who's naughty and nice as well (tis the Xmas season after all) :P.
In the novel the emperor and FZ pretty much die together, the emperor shortly after FZ. If they are both to die…
lol, nepotism at large, prolly there as their family all held official positions, so by virtue of being the descendents, they too got into the job, as someone pointed out, they must have fixed the exam results. Or the batch was so generally bad that this was the better of the bad lot.
The writer created her to humanize the emperor. This ignorant, selfish emperor didn't care about the feelings…
that is indeed a good point! If not for her, we would end up with Hai Shi being forced into someone's bed chambers, with no point for return. at least in this situation, the emperor has made it clear that he will set her free one day. that intention alone is worth its weight in gold.
I think I'll binge the last episodes during the weekend coz I'll just lose sleep thinking what the ending will…
actually that's a great move. I started and couldn't hold back. Luckily everyday of this week, we get 2 episodes...if not it would be truly unbearable.

I am wondering at which point the Emperor finally knows. As of the latest episode, he isn't in the know yet. Though they have a habit of not informing the viewers. LOL

then again, if anyone can rule the idiotic bunch of ministers with an iron fist, it's Hai Shi. And if anyone can bring peace and prosperity to the Kingdom, it's also her. In a tragic way, she is continuing the legacy of her Sifu but in a different role. Tbh, I would wish for a HE too but looking at how things are going, it's unreal. And the fleeting moments of happiness/candy is likely to be in E45-46, if you watch the hints in the viewing calendar.
Every time I see ministers in dramas, I want to force them to swallow rats. They always complain, accuse, blame…
one of the worst bunch of ministers ever, truly. But then again, many are under Prince Chang's instructions, so it's no wonder they are creating such havoc.
