My heart breaks for Fang Hai Shi. She should have be given a choice.
i know, that's how i felt. tbh, she made that same point to Sifu in a subsequent episode. She asked him why she was allowed to make a choice - to be a boy or a girl when he first met her, but now she is not given that choice. Regardless of how much he wants to protect her, and the argument is that he is doing it out of a parent-child love, depriving her of that choice was cruel. To her, as she put it herself, she's someone who needs to be free, not kept in a cage. And being in the harem with the walls (her own words to Ti Lan) felt like being in a cage.
My take on the ending. FZ and Hai Shi have their consummation she falls pregnant Emperor announces the second…
if they follow the novel, the ending scene would be one where Hai Shi and the Sifu are leading a carefree life, in a remote cottage. But the scene changes, the camera pans out and we see Hai Shi asleep, beside her is a cup of wine. It's the wine that contains the flower petals (that the Emperor gave Ti Lan earlier on), it allows one to have 'happy dreams'.
This is just an observation - Funny how Hai Shi is a kickass warrior in man's clothing but becomes a helpless…
actually I think the warrior was already on the ground, whether he was beaten by Hai Shi or Sifu, we don't know. So Hai Shi didn't expect him to be revived and make a come back. But this person is like the little boy that stabbed Sifu earlier on, under a kind of spell, so he got 'resurrected' and made one more attempt at her.
I am happy Fang Jianming got 2 people who don't give up on him even tho he gave up on himself..His best friend…
yes, eventhough our dear girl was acting all cold, but secretly she was trying to find a way to help FJM. She's one tough cookie, not gonna give up so easily. And in E43, we see her asking the mermaid for help, I wonder what that will be about?
The teaser for ep 43 made me feel so good. I am happy that we r getting an episode so calm like this after a lot…
Even tomorrow's episode is sweet, FJM protecting her from the shadows and coming to see her as she sleeps. The best thing is she knows. You know there are those scenes where the ML comes but the FL doesn't know, and she thinks he doesn't care. But it's even nicer when the FL knows, cause then she knows what he's doing for her. Can't wait for tmr's episodes!!!
I don’t know why after watching ep 34 onwards, I started to like the emperor. He encouraged FJM to live with…
He's doing what a bestie does, the voice of reason. And he knows what FJM is going through, putting up a brave front but deep down inside, he's suffering knowing that Hai Shi's going through tough times despite acting all cold in front of him.
Hai Shi going for disaster relief, way to go girl! So the words "I don't want to be trapped in a gilded cage were hers. And after that, the Emperor repeated it to Sifu." How apt. With her brains and courage, she should be an officer working on behalf of the Emperor. Pity that during that era, women still could not serve as officials, else she would have been one heck of a one. The rebellion by Prince Chang is in E43-44, the sweet moments in E45-46, and whatever will happen, will happen for the last 2 episodes, come what may.
Can anyone enlighten if there's any kiss scenes in this drama? If so, which episodes?
coming soon to a screen near you. LOL. So far the scenes of them kissing have always been with one or the other unconscious. In the earlier episodes, she was ill and he gave her medicine. Then in E43, he's unconscious and she kisses him. I suspect with the candy icons, their happy moments together will be in E45-46, before the bad-ass ending.
actually I thought the Emperor would have suspected even earlier on, considering how Sifu has always been protecting…
oh yes, the instinctive need to protect Hai Shi, because he guessed at much that she was Sifu's gal. Truly chilvarous of him, and such quick thinking on his feet to say that he planted her in Ji Feng Pavillion. A more stupid emperor would have been dumbfounded and hapless, but certainly not this one. I was wondering from the previews what this was about, so this was the scene.
actually I thought the Emperor would have suspected even earlier on, considering how Sifu has always been protecting Hai Shi and the Emperor noticed that. So, it was quite a surprise that he seemed shocked and annoyed when he finally found out. But then again, Emperor, you finally get a taste of the same medicine that Hai Shi's been getting lately, being kept in the dark. Great tasting won't you say?
The vows were touching but I couldn’t help but laugh at the unveiling scene because the cameraman was zoomed…
I can imagine Yang Mi laughing during the shooting of that scene. It was prolly hard to stay serious looking at William's face, considering he's so jovial in real life.
And I think they avoided FangShi consummation as HS could have gotten pregnant..Her child might have had to become…
it's also done I believe to up the angst. This way viewers will want to see if there are any happy moments for Hai Shi, so they will keep watching. Most people would be rooting for her.
