youdu knocking some sense into shifu's head! we love to see it, youdu best character indeed :')
And I thought Childe Ning from JJL was a perfect gentleman. Youdu ranks just as high if not higher in conduct. What an amazing man, so understanding and the way he conducts himself, I think he's what Confucius had in mind when he wrote the analects.
Just watched E23-24 preview, and it's begun, Sifu is starting to push Hai Shi away. So Sifu did kiss Hai Shi (a peck on the forehead, not the confusing medicine scene type of kiss). And Hai Shi knew (in the fishing village when they were visiting the mother), he thought she was asleep.... He gave an excuse that all his actions were merely sifu-disciple but when she brought up about the kiss, he couldn't find any more excuses. She tells him explicitly that she wants to be with him but he turns her away. Needless to say, she's upset with him for pushing her away and the resentment begins to form in her heart. sigh...it's exactly midpoint of the drama. Gosh, do we have to endure 20 episodes of misery then???
Reading some comments here on what’s going to happen this reminds me of The Legend of Xiao Chuo…. I think…
I am so thankful they ended up together in that drama. For this one though, I am inclined to thinking they won't...but we'll know on December 6 for sure!
Thanks for posting it, else I would not have noticed it. After watching it, we get some hints of what's to come with Hai Shi and why the Emperor is being so bipolar. I get what he's feeling but that doesn't give him the right to behave in such a manner to another human being, more so as he is the Emperor. Then again, there have been Emperors in history were known for debauchery and were not good for the country at all.
I wish i could understand what her mother said to make them feel so awkward😂also why in the world was Tilan…
based on the interview with the various characters about their background, the Emperor does like Ti Lan but he can't admit it as he's guilty towards his dead wife. So, he takes out his wrath/guilt on her (grow up man, stay away if you can't overcome the guilt, don't abuse her mentally and physically). I truly pity Ti Lan, and I admire her courage for taking the bowl of contraceptive so calmly, what girl!
Boy oh boy. I was about to burst from the interactions between Master and Haishi. Him feeding her the medicine-moutu…
if you watch E21-22 preview, it's even more funny. The typical meeting the mother-in-law scene, and Sifu telling Hai Shi not to eat first as the mother's not at the dining table yet. LOL I hope we get a few more happy moments together before the miserable parts kick in. after watching a few C-dramas, it's truly a formula they follow/the formula of story-telling: happy-happier-sad-sadder-happiest-saddest.
It's reminding me of "One and Only." My PREDICTION ONLY: I believed Fang Jian when he said he would not marry.…
There's a trailer where we hear Sifu's voice asking the Emperor for permission to be with her, as he loves her and there are scenes where we indeed see them together, intimately. Yang Mi in an interview also states that despite the drama being filled with angst and misery, there will be sweet moments at the end. However, if you are commenting on whether they will marry or not and whether there is a HE, I am inclined to believe (from the icons and emoticons in the viewing calendar), there won't be one. It will be a case of pleasure preceeding pain, typical costume drama ending.

No one has any idea..Novel has SE..Everyone wishing for a HE..
Do what I normally do, give the drama a break as soon as it starts getting unbearable (it's still fine for now, I anticipate things will do downhill from 20 onwards), until it has ended. Then you can read the reviews and decide whether you want to watch it or not.
What's the airing schedule for this? I only see 14 episodes on WETV. Is it once a week?
2 episodes every day from Wednesday to Sunday. Then in the last week, every day of the week. You can always find the airing calendar/schedule in the photo section in MDL.
My two cents on the age thing and crossing dressing lol.. This happens a lot in C-dramas, its not affecting my…
Yang Mi is someone who pulls off manly roles well, I suspect which is why she was casted in this drama. She's got that steely look in her eyes and the air of arrogance she carries, I think it was even more apparent in Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms...
Does anyone know why the emperor took interest in haishi when I thought he was loyal to one (Zizan). I'm really…
Loyalty for an Emperor with a harem? LOL, I can't imagine any Emperor being loyal to only 1 woman, though I suspect in history there might have been the odd one or two.
How are some of y'all not obsessed with the emperor? The most interesting and fun character in this show by far.…
credit to Xu Kai Cheng for playing such a bipolar role, reminds of Luo Yun Xi in Ashes of Love. Certainly interesting to watch, but I won't want any of my girl friends (that I care about) to be in any form of relationship with him.
Am I the only one who can't get past YM's annoying voice in this.. along with the constant "shi fu". Lol
I think in the earlier episodes, it's supposed to portray her adoration and admiration for someone who saved her, looked after her and taught her stuff. With time, you will notice that it changes somewhat, as part of her maturing with age. Generally, if you use a voice dubber, viewers get a different feel to the drama, and as this is her own voice, it's a more genuine portrayal of the underlying emotions.
