Lotta laughs in this, it's always good when a show is funny. And I loved when Achi's friend read his cat's mind, that was gold. My cat was sitting on my lap at the time and I felt jealous, I wish I could read my cat's mind, even if he's cursing me or planning to take over the world, I want to know! เฒฅโฟเฒฅ Also glad to the see the cat was not stressed in this episode! <3
Not surprised it's somewhat tropey, since the actual manga itself was like that (like they almost all are actually), and so was the Japanese adaptation in it's own cute way. This show is hitting it's own cute trope mark just fine. And Karan is funny too, he's calm on the outside like KY was in the Japanese version, but inside he's a total drama queen ๐ while Achi is freaking out on the inside and outside ๐๐
Good stuff. Strong episode and good pace. I do have to say that there were too many 'thank you, Sir State-the-obvious-a-lot' moments during the investigation side of things, I feel like the cop side of the dialogue in this show doesn't flow too well. But I do like what they seem to be trying to do, creating a sort of case by case scenario, maybe every two eps or so while building the character relationships and also working up to something bigger at the end. It reminds me of the Chinese series, Under The Skin, a good cop series with a touch of farfetched character abilities, (albeit this is a BL with a full on supernatural aspect and the police work side of it could use some polishing) but it's a nice change in the BL scene.
I love the dynamic between Phaya and Tharn, it's like super obvious and plain that they're totally attracted to each other and they know it, like they really know it, but they're hedging in this off beat 'should we or shouldn't we' comical/angst sort of push and pull. As for when Tharn said to Yai 'you slacking off?' I was like PFFFT booooi have you seen that man's body??? You ALL should be taking notes (and pictures). We could use Yai in some more half naked scenes, for like, science or whatever.
I also thought that Phaya did a great job portraying that 'quietly seething' anger when he was talking to the doctor right before he left, his demeanor shifted quite believably. Also, also, ngl, I was super relieved that the bathroom scene turned out to be a dream because Tharn left the tap in the basin running and it almost had me like (ใเฒ ็เฒ )ใๅฝกโปโโป
PSps: tell me ya'll got the HEAVY inuendo Phaya was dropping with the egg yolk scene xD
Ok, so I decided to watch this for Tay Tawan, I have liked him ever since Dark Blue Kiss, but I never liked him…
I think the user named Gian blocked me after they sent a reply to me, so I couldn't answer logged in, but I could see their comments logged out? I dunno, never happened before. Anyway, I'd asked what their point was when they said DBK was 4 years ago as a response to my mentioning that New looks different. Asking 'what's your point?' was apparently some level of rude that they couldn't tolerate ๐
To clarify, in case anyone thinks I'm hating on New in my comment, nah, I don't hate him, in fact I hope to see him in do well in CM in a way I didn't see in DBK. And I wasn't aiming for rude, like, I actually wanted to know what was Gian's point. Their comment made it sound like they were implying New had some natural growth spurt as a grown man who was already an adult, like that was a thing, which, no. It's not.
I wasn't here to point out that he looks thinner or like he's been bulking up, because I wasn't interested in mentioning specifics. He just looks more comfortable and physically mature to me. He looks different. He does. That's just a fact. That's what I pointed out. And I meant it as a compliment anyway. So not sure what their angst was but ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
I don't think Mhok not asking was a dropped ball. It made sense in that situation. If he had asked, Day would…
So, like, I didn't say anything about consent, nor did I say Mhok was wrong for not asking. This was not some sensitive comment I made referring to boundaries and PC stuff or whatever the blah blah it is that people hung up on these days.
Day is blind, he'd been kissed and dropped shortly before and then Mhok is leaning in and kissing him. Another person (anyone really) mighta' felt some type of way about that, but the characters are close and Day trusts Mhok, so it was fine. But maybe it would have been thoughtful to ask is all. BUT more importantly I think it would have been SEXY for Mhok to come right close, make obvious intended contact and closeness and mingling breaths, lips almost touching, so that Day knew exactly what was coming and his heart rate picked up and then Mhok could have asked, or even stated, in a smooth way that the actor would def had pulled off, that a kiss was on the table.
My comment was not a public service announcement for anyone to get defensive about ๐ I'm not about that.
But Phojai did meet Night before, in the episode where she went to their house to pass Day the slippers.
Yes, but she met him like you meet the person behind the counter at the supermarket the first time, also while being in a relationship (for her character at that time). You smile and say hello and exchange basic interactions but they didn't 'meet' where they looked at each other and thought 'heeeeey' and actively tried to get to know one another. Not like where she wouldn't be focused on the fact that she's pregnant and recently broken up, squatting with her ex/bestie and all that seems like it should take center stage instead of 'you think that hot guy's single?'.
If they'd had another meeting, a more sincere and direct one, in the time since she'd stopped seeing the other guy, it would have made more sense. That's all I'm saying. But that's just my opinion. I think it's a whack point of focus.
I agreed. That's why I prefer this more than His Man 2. BLB seems more real. They're all so genuine pouring out…
Yep, HM2 felt like it was staged and acted, protecting the 'characters' appearances in every scene, not showing the cast contestants for who they actually were. Even the outcome was blah as far as I understand. But BLB they were real people all the way, even if it didn't feel like a dating show per se.
Ok, so I decided to watch this for Tay Tawan, I have liked him ever since Dark Blue Kiss, but I never liked him acting with New because I felt like they had no chemistry. It seems to be better in this though, at least so far, and is it just me or does New look really different? It's like he's grown into himself physically somehow.
Anyway, I enjoyed this as an opening ep. I enjoyed the Japanese television adaption, it was good, but I wasn't keen on watching the exact same story scene for scene, just in Thai instead, but it seems they've expanded and changed it according to the different cultures and also added things here and there and I genuinely enjoyed this first ep a lot. I laughed at New's face hearing people's thoughts, it was well done.
I also am keen to see more of Tay playing the quiet, calm and sincere role he has to carry for this character. He's doing well so far. I like the extra characters too, their similarities and differences to the Japanese version. I hope this show continues in a promising vein.
Great episode over all. I just have two notes really, one is not important, one is quite important.
Not important: Day putting on those running shoes without socks was ick. I know people do that irl, but that's also ick.
Important: Mhok should have asked first (ya'll know what I'm referring to). Not just because Day is blind and it seems like the courteous thing to do all things considered, at least the first time between a seeing and non seeing person, but also because it would have been a nice touch to the atmosphere and dynamic of their developing relationship. Ball dropped and missed opportunity.
Still very enjoyable. August is obvs not playing with a full deck, very flawed logic, very stupid actions but at least he wasn't just doing it to be a douche, he is actually just a dumbf*ck. Phojai asking about Day's brother while she's preggers is a little 'wtf' for me. I mean maybe she was joking? If they had a meet cute or it develops naturally it would be better imo, but I'm thinking her focus should be elsewhere? Just me?? Eh. The actress is still stunning, character flaws aside. Next episode, lets go!
S02 was absolutely awesome. I was almost pissed off when Yi Kyung seemed to be dead and I would have rated this season lower I swear because she is THE BESTESTEST and a BADASS and that would have been a waste of an amazing character. I was about to riot, but that worked out so I'm not mad at all because I expect her to make a comeback. Now I just need Hyun Soo and Eun Yoo to not have any kind of romance or physical relationship because ๐คฎ I'd rather watch them try to kill each other kplsthanks

I can't even remember the trailer, but I think I recall being confused when I saw the omegaverse tag on MDL because the trailer did not make any suggestion toward it. They should have been clear up front. I'm not against omegaverse for anyone who likes it either, for myself though, I can say 90% of it is trash, and that's just fanfiction. I have never (and will never) read it in manga form xD As for producing it, of course, yeah, they can go ahead and make it, that's never stopped anyone from making bad TV content heh. But if there is ever such a show/movie where an actor as an 'omega' says some cringe ish like 'i feel so empty, Alpha' or something even WORSE, I'll choke on secondhand embarrassment for the actor, writers and producers.

From what I gathered in the comments of Pitbabe, they've removed the actual Omega side of things (probably because let's face it 9 times out 10 abo is very rapey and while people glaze it over 'on paper' in televised media it won't fly -hopefully EVER-) and they've basically made the Alpha's superheroes or like mutants or something, but with sex I assume ๐๐๐ I mean, just...no. These production houses need to choose what they want to adapt more carefully.

Haha! Even more in common, I also didn't make it through the first ep of Pitbabe, anything at all to do with omegaverse should never be televised imo๐๐๐ as for Playboyy, I won't even ATTEMPT that, spare myself the brain cells. LT is really in first place, The Sign is shaping up nicely, but LT is already striding ahead of all the BL's this year. Also waiting for the new ep! :D

Your comment about the food makes me think of how annoyed I get in shows when people leave taps open. I get so irritated ๐ like, close the tap!! You can talk with it closed, you can stare into the mirror with it closed, cloooose iiittt. And YES, 100% The Sign and Last Twilight have raised bars up in here and yet ppl are hyping disaster shows like Pitbabe. I just can't ๐

haha xD thanks for letting me know. I felt like it might be that way when I watched the trailer, just not my cup of tea and when I found your original comment I thought 'this person seems to see things similarly' and you've just spared me the time! Sometimes 'soft and cutesy' just doesn't work I guess ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ I won't be trying this.
