I love XRR even more, the way her character just keeps developing and progressing. Her whole dialogue as MQG with SYS was so good in ep 25. It's too bad SYS is still stuck in his guilt-ridden world to fully understand....luckily XRR can now use her Shifu status to keep him in check!
and even if she has really turned on Pingan, I just can't see an old fox like Hai Yiping buying it so easily.…
So true! At the end of it all, even if DX does kill YPA, we know he will get rid of her. I am still wondering if YSC will help YPA...hard to tell from the previews and hard to predict even from his past behavior. I think he will or at least to the point where he can still pretend to claim credit from HYP

The thing is she was supposed to kill YPA and she could have done it properly on the bridge. So if I were HYP, I would be wondering why YPA still survived!
This drama is keeping me at the edge of my seat....even with the previews, I still get so anxious for YPA and and YSC. Today's episode stressed me out but in a good way ;D I am really hoping that YPA and DanXin is playing the long game, casting the net widely but smartly. The current situation really hurts. Plus such excellent writing for YSC...you can truly understand his dilemma :(
Your review brought tears to my eyes, thinking about the characters again. Your analysis of them, the show and its premise was so detailed and well done. I really like how you interpreted the ending, and I hope people after reading your review will understand that such an outcome was a good ending for the leads.
I think the original story itself is not great for drama adaptation. Anyone who watch this will appreciate the…
I haven't read the novel, but judging by the drama's storyline, I believe its core plot had the potential to be executed far more effectively with a stronger script.
I agree with you that a well-crafted screenplay is the foundation of any production, but a drama's success ultimately depends on many other elements other than a strong script—among them, the performances, music, setting, styling, direction, and cinematography.
Personally, I can forgive a weaker story if the other aspects were well done. Likewise, I can forgive some mediocre acting if the story is compelling.
With this review, I aim to highlight the outstanding work of the actors and others and, at the very least, acknowledge the drama’s attempts to spotlight the aftermath of war.
In hindsight, this was certainly a melodrama, a complete tearjerker, but the emotionally shattering part really started for me after that one devastating event. Even after that, there was still hope until the end. That development was superbly portrayed by the leads
I must still be traumatized by AJTL, but the vibes of this show are making me think that the ending will not be good for most of the characters. Every time there is a good moment, I think, "Oh, it's a death flag." Urgh, I am enjoying this show so much, but I cannot help the feeling of anxiety. I am already expecting the worst!
I didn’t like the older brother in the Korean version but I find him ever more annoying in this show. At least ep 8, we finally see the leads progressing!
You simple hate ML or his character otherwise if you have been watching from the first ep you will understand…
No, no I don't hate the ML (actor or character) at all. Just the opposite, in fact. I get why he's doing it but I am just annoyed that the show had to use the typical xianxia trope where the ML has to be cruel to the FL for her own good.
Ep 23 - Ranran's declaration to SYS was so good...staking her claim without being whiny or clingy. Ranran's character development was done well, from a naive, ignorant girl to a powerful cultivator. I cannot wait for MQG to return. I am less impressed with SYS - typical Xianxia ML who chose the noble idiocy path...Does anyone know if we are going to get an arc where the ML will sacrifice himself and also get reborn as someone else so it is Ranran/MQG's turn to try and protect him?

I am starting today's episodes so I hope that things will turn around.
