Yes, LBY knows he is not the real LBY. If you watch ep 16 where he goes see his aunt ( Ling Yi’s ex wife) she introduces him to Marquis Cui as her nephew. The maid sheds tears and LBY kowtow to her and greets her as her nephew. But Ling Yi who arrives next does not know .

You have fast forward button. I find him annoying too but he adds interest to the drama. IMHO. Every character, good or bad is entertaining and adds to the story
