A quick question of translation for those who understand Mandarin:Do Sun and Changge use familiar language to…
Hmm, if my memory serves me right, A'Sun and Changge were pretty relaxed around each other early on and didn't use to formal language with each other. But Changge didn't start using her own name around him until like episode 18 or something.
Hao Du and Changge a bit harder to answer. They usually used the other person's full name, which I'd say is neither formal nor informal. But they didn't have any titles to use so I guess it might lean more on the formal side. Hao Du's entire approach is usually way more formal though, no matter who we're talking about. And Changge pretty much being the opposite.
crazy thing is it already did slow down a bit this past week.. but still very active compared to most. it's apparently…
Yeah, there was a part there that dragged a bit. But around episode 30 it really got going again, and when it ended I was so ready for more. Overall I liked it a lot. Hoping season 2 comes true.
I was overall pleased with the ending. I feel no need at all to witness a wedding between A'Sun and Changge. One…
Agreed. I can sort of see where they wanted to go with her character. They didn't want her to be just a plain villian, but show us that she too was human, and had her understandable motives. But both script and acting failed the character in the end.

Ah yes I remember that. Indeed not the best time to join here. xD but we survived, and most people had to change their minds about Changge in the end :D

I can't even remember what the discussions were about in the beginning lol most topics end up being discussed over and over, so I don't think you've missed too much. :)

You may actually be right about that. Hadn't really considered that their characters were a bit more 2D thank our mains. Not strange perhaps, there was only so much screen time given to them. However I personally didn't quite like Sheer's acting at times. But his character was pretty well made though. I should probably have mentioned Yicheng as well. Not the best villain I've seen unfortunately.
How far did you watch? I thought the same initially until I watched up to episode 5 and it kept me hooked. I can…
Yes, all the betrayals, and people who just refused to change or let go (I'm looking at you Auntie Wang, and you to Zitan). Rebel princess started to get repetitive in the end. I think I went as far as up to 40 and then started skipping a lot. Cause I still wanted to know the end. And I loved A'Wu and XQ together. The second half didn't utilize their chemistry enough, it sort of stood and fell with it. TLB was good cause it didn't use many of the tropes we usually see in C-drama, like backstabbing best friends, love triangles, obsessive exes etc. And it didn't create unnecessary drama just for the sake of having some drama. That alone makes TLB pretty unique.

I know. I'm actually a bit grateful it's calmed down. A bit more relaxing ;) but I shouldn't complain. When I was following My Heroic Husband I tried to start a discussion there. But no one commented there in weeks xD so this is way better. :D
I have now officially finished TLB. Now I can die in peace. LOL joking aside, what a ride it has been. I mean,…
I was overall pleased with the ending. I feel no need at all to witness a wedding between A'Sun and Changge. One wedding for the last few episodes is enough for me xD and seriously, a grand wedding ceremony feels so redundant for those two. He proposed. She accepted. And now they're together in the grasslands. That's enough, as they both would have said.
My favorite part of the final episode was between Sun and She'er and Eagle and Wolf divisions. That felt grand, and awesome, and heartwarming all at the same time. To think that She'er would grow on me like that, I never could have imagined that in the beginning. The final proof that the character development done in this drama was top-notch.
I will say one negative thing though. These final episodes sort of proved to me what I had been feeling for a little while. The acting of many of the supporting characters was not really up to the task. Mimi, Mujin and She'er are the ones I'm mainly referring to. Not that their acting was terrible, and I enjoyed all of their characters. But they just didn't manage to convey emotions when needed very well, and didn't act so well in such scenes. I think that's gonna be the main negative thing I'll have to say about this drama in general. I can live with the animated parts. Except the ones where they mix in the real people, that was a terrible idea....
Amd so, a long journey has come to an end. (pun intended). 我满意了!I am satisfied. :)
I have now officially finished TLB. Now I can die in peace. LOL joking aside, what a ride it has been. I mean, the drama itself was an amazing ride. But without this board, without you guys, it wouldn't have been half as much fun. It's been awesome to have this place as an outlet for all the feelings and thoughts I got following this drama. I usually don't have anyone to share that with, so here's a huge thanks to all of you. I hope to see you around on some other drama discussions in the future. But don't worry, I won't be abandoning you just yet. :) and below I will also give a short comment about the ending. I'll try to write a review in a couple of days also.

I'd say it's calmed done quite a lot. Two weeks ago it was a nightmare to try and keep up with things around here. Now I can actually survive only checking in twice a day xD
How far did you watch? I thought the same initially until I watched up to episode 5 and it kept me hooked. I can…
I'm your opposite then. xD I needed to finish The Rebel Princess with the skip button I initially thought that it was amazing, but I think it was too long in the end, it just couldn't keep up the amazing all the way to the end. While this one was the opposite, and kept getting better and better. At least for me. And I don't agree on 2D characters. Where TLB excels above many other dramas in my opinion are the characters. They're propelled by motives that we can understand, they do their best but also make mistakes, and with those mistakes and all of their experiences they grow. For me that's 3D characters. But it's okay that we have different opinions. That's what has made this board so interesting to follow all this time :) though I will say, it's a hard choice between A'Sun and Xiao Qi. Two of the best male characters I've seen in a long time.
Edit: it was pointed out to me that actually some of the side characters here are a bit 2D, hadn't really considered that. But the main characters are very well done though if you ask me, which was basically what I was commenting on.
Why do they love to use the last name Gu in Cdramas all the time?-Hello Mr. Gu- Gu Nan Zhou-This drama- Gu Chuan-Use…
Actually, there aren't that many Chinese last names, so it's not that strange. Also, it isn't necessarily the same Chinese character, even though it's pronounced the same way. (haven't seen any of the others, so don't know what characters their last names are).
I don't think you missed anything! It simply hasn't been explained in the series yet. I do think Su ManLin is…
Hmmm, hadn't crossed my mind yet how random it actually was for her to look through Xiao Ning's resume and finding that. I sort of assumed she was at a point where she was trying to find any sort of excuse to get rid of her. But you may be right that we just haven't been shown the whole story with her and Tang Xu yet.
Am I the only one who gets a stomachache whenever we see Tang Xu and papa Xu together? Their whole relationship and all of their conversations cause so much disturbance in me I almost can't watch their scenes.
