I already miss some of the characters from 500 years ago that didn't get reincarnated or brought forward in time, especially Ye Qing Yu and Pian Ran, as well as the loyal shadow guard guy, I forget his character's name...but I miss him.
He was a treat! What an awful person and full fledged villain. Would love to see more of him.
He's been around for awhile, I'm surprised that with his striking appearance that I haven't noticed him in any of the dramas I've seen with him in it. Looking forward to continuing to see him!
I’m here again: the best statement in xianxia dramas comes from starry love: YOUQIN: “ My life was given to…
I think part of it has to do with Confucianism and filial piety too. When he went into the anomaly to die he was paying his life of debt to his parents by doing what they asked him to do. When he died during that and was resurrected by Yetan, in essence she created his new lifetime and so any filial piety debt that he may owe, he owes it to Yetan and no one else. By publicly making that statement in front of his parents and the entire kingdom, he let's them all know that he belongs to her only and forever in heart, body, and soul.
I miss this show so much, I've tried to invest in TTEOTM and LBFAD to fill the void after Starry Love and don't…
The humor is what made it a nice and unique spin on the genre which has been getting stale and formulaic lately. I too adored LBFAD and am in love with TTEOTM right now...but definitely looking forward to more soft humor making an appearance in future Xianxia dramas! It doesn't have to be a full blown comedy, but the ability to laugh occasionally while still enjoying the overall lessons and story is super important to making a drama go from an 8 to a 10.
I think that YXW is the most danger of becoming the new Devil God because she swapped the evil bone and I think…
we really do have to have it written all out, this drama has a very complex and interwoven set of plot points with multiple timelines including the dream, the real past, the original present, the altered past. and the new present...its a bit convoluted and easy to get mixed up even for the most eagle eyed and devoted viewer!
I think that YXW is the most danger of becoming the new Devil God because she swapped the evil bone and I think…
Fingers crossed! I'm really tempted to restart the entire series while we wait for the final 10 to be released, that way I can really watch for hidden clues and plot points that I might have missed during some of the exciting whirlwind of devastating battles and timetravel in the early episodes.
I think that YXW is the most danger of becoming the new Devil God because she swapped the evil bone and I think…
That was an acceptable ending, but it could have been a bit better... LBFD was awesome right up until the end where I was like...well it was it was ok. Idk why I felt like it wasn't a bad ending but somehow just didn't feel 100% right for some reason. My hope is that if we do have a sacrifice of life and then resurrection that they don't make the characters (and audience) wait forever only to squeeze in the HE in the last 30 seconds of the show.
I think that YXW is the most danger of becoming the new Devil God because she swapped the evil bone and I think…
Yeah, can't really escape the true love saves the world plotline...but the endings are what either make or break the audience, will our writers give us a happy one or an ashes of love one?
I think that YXW is the most danger of becoming the new Devil God because she swapped the evil bone and I think…
Yeah, after reviewing the different timelines, I think you're right, I believe TTJ will become the Devil God again because one has to exist...but he doesn't have to be Evil this time around and his love for YXW could play a big factor in how he's changed from who he was in the first timeline.
Is this the Premise: If your life plan suddenly changed and forced you to choose between love or career, how can you choose one? Would you sway between the two unable to decide what to do? If only we can know the outcomes of both options before we choose one, how much better and easier would that be...basically the series shows both versions of whatever the leads decide ie career vs love?
I'm intrigued and very interested but I think this will be a few years down the road before we get to see it. maybe 2025 if all goes well with the censors? I know a few dramas that were filmed a while back had problems due to transmigration being a theme that was suppressed and reassessed for a few years due to "moral" concerns someone high in power had. Hope all goes well with this one though and that we get to see another amazing story with Liu Xue Yi as the lead!
Viki has created a channel and is seeking regional licensing.https://www.viki.com/tv/39721c-wrong-carriage-right-groom#reviewsViki's…
I thought they already had gotten the regional license 6 months ago? Did that expire and they had to retry? Either way, I'm dying here...can't wait to watch it!!
I'm loving this drama. It feels very true to actual life and the characters feel like they are based on real people…
Took me some time to work through all the episodes...but I'm glad I watched it. One of the better older melodramas and except for "That Person" coming back and the miracle of life/wealth that fell in her lap, the rest felt very true to life. I liked the FL more than most did because I can step back a bit and think about the drama's background and setting. Based on their culture's 2,500 years of confucian roots FL's behaviors make a lot of sense in ways that a young country like mine couldn't easily understand.
We don't have traditions spanning thousands of years that are ingrained and very hard to overcome ie that of obedience to those in power, but they do...it's buried in their culture, their nation, their history, everything around them tells them that they should follow and obey those who are "higher" than them, be it by age, gender, social status, wealth, or power.
If you have that understanding built into the cultural background of the childhood of the FL, it makes it a LOT easier to understand her and why she behaves they way she does. It frustrates us to no end because we are used to standing up for ourselves and fighting back, but she isn't because she's use to being powerless, a single mother, and poor AF, basically the lowest person on the totem pole of status in their country. Put all that together with her natural tendencies to want to be a peacemaker and to us looking in she seems to be a doormat...but in reality I think it makes her a stronger person, one who despite all her disadvantages kept struggling, kept going, avoided the pitfalls of hate and came out the other side better. But that's just my perspective and part of why I could enjoy her and the show in a way that maybe others might not be able to.
I'm loving this drama. It feels very true to actual life and the characters feel like they are based on real people that I know in my own life. I connect really well with the FL as I've sadly been like that in the past. I finally made some decisions to stop being that way, but it took me many years and a lot of effort to change. I feel she's probably about the way I was when I was her age, so I cut her a lot of slack. I can understand people who are confident and self assured would not see themselves reflected in the FLs traits, so maybe that is a huge turn off for them for this show, but for me, I find myself rooting for her to find her happiness no matter how long and how many twists it takes.
I am SHOCKED that someone noticed Qi Pei Xin's very brief appearance in this drama, you have to be a mega fan of his to recognise him. I can't understand why he would agree to play an unnamed character that has no lines and only appears for a grand total of maybe 1 minute. His full face is only on the screen for a few seconds in one of the two scenes he appeared in. Was he just filling in for a friend as an extra or was this series filmed (but not aired) before he was in The Untamed and got much better roles? Anyway, he plays the role of security guard/henchman for the ML and doesn't have a name or any lines and I had to REALLY search for him to find him in this show, so if you are watching this for him, you can safely skip it without missing out on his actual acting in much better things.
I don't understand why/how the ML just agreed to having a romp with his "bride" the night before the wedding if they hadn't consummated before that, didn't he think her behavior was wildly different before? Was he actually in love with the first twin and had a relationship with her before? How did it take him sooo long to notice the differences between them?
