Real!Qin Wan has been dead since a year ago. Shen Wan and Qin Wan were friends and so were their parents. Real!Qin Wan has been sick since she was young and was living in Medicine King Valley with her dad, Qin Liang. Shen Wan and her parents were also there as she studied medicine at the Valley. In the beginning of the story, the Shen parents, Qin Liang, and Shen Wan were running away. The Shen parents both got shot and Qin Liang also got shot while protecting Shen Wan. Shen Wan then took on Qin Wan's identity since the Qin family doesn't know Qin Wan has been dead since Qin Liang is not close to the family and never told them.

He was part of the downfall, but it is complicated because it involved a lot of characters and side incidences with the Yans. It was like a domino effect.

Haha, we just have to suspend our belief in that area. 🤣 Her fit is actually a pretty okay "man" outfit for that time even with the pin (it is going for the gentleman/scholar pretty boy trope where the character is androgynous). But they didn't really make an effort with her chest area, so it is still obvious. 🤣

For anyone wondering about the age of these characters, if I remember correctly, Qin Wan is about 16-17 years old and Yan Chi is around 20-22 years old in the novel.

He was mentioned in episode 1 as one of Shen Yi's students. It was said that Li Muyun was the one who implicated Shen Yi which led to the massacre of the family.

Being a coroner is looked down upon not to mention she is a woman, so it is seen as unsightly. It is just easier to investigate the cases in the capital right now as a man as she won't have to explain anything and just get right to work. If she shows up as a woman right now, there did be a lot more explaining to do and a lot of questions about Yan Chi hiring a woman to work for him. And as a woman, they did know she is Qin Wan and then that adds to the complication with the whole Qin family since the Qin family is right in the middle of this imperial fight going on.

She was trying to make sure the body can still be examined for autopsy so she had to try to put it out ASAP. By the time she was done, the fire was already spreading/too late so she miscalculated there (because the oil was actually all over the place, not just his body) but her main goal was to make sure the body can still be looked at.

And the fire scene actually showed both leads in a good light IMO. Yan Chi called out for Qin Wan and she threw something through the window to get his attention. He went up the roof but didn't know where exactly to enter due to the fire and Qin Wan shot an arrow at an area in the roof on top of the spot that isn't consumed by flame yet to let him know it did be safe to land there. Then you have Bai Feng pulling them up via the rope right after that.

The smile was show she is thankful and admired him (and that he really did fulfill his promise, to always be there for her while she does her thing). Plus everyone running to them and laughing in relief after that was just meant to show all of them working as a team and that they all care for each other. If anything, this is probably one of the rare fire scenes in idol period C-dramas where the FL actually put a cloth over her mouth and actually did something to facilitate her being saved (aka she didn't faint, scream non-stop, stand around, etc.). 🤣

It is because this drama is doing really well from viewership to heat index while both leads are not traffic status. These fans from the previous dramas that didn't hit 10K feel like this drama doesn't deserve it while their favs' drama does. It is even being praised for having a clean live comment session (not fans spamming their favs' names non-stop and actually having witty comments/discussions).

They also find it unfathomable that this drama actually has non-fans watching it. They have been dropping black marketing since this drama released claiming iQiyi is favoring this drama over the others (just because it got a summer slot and how dare a drama without traffic actors/actresses get that spot) and saying how the data doesn't match but this drama is pretty much #1 or #2 in all the platforms these fandoms use for stat checks so now they are saying this drama pay money for all this (but somehow their more popular favs couldn't do that).

Usually these traffic fans fight among themselves, and the fans' and haters' ratings balance each other out. But these two's combined fans don't equal the amount of antis/haters so I am hoping the non-fans viewer will go out of their way to rate it.

Non-idol dramas are dramas that cover more serious topics/not just about romance or visuals. The scripts for these dramas are usually higher quality too and aimed for the general public (and they are usually win awards). Non-idol dramas usually air on TV + online while idol dramas stay as online/web dramas.

Most of the period and modern romance dramas popular with international fans are idol dramas acted by these pretty/handsome actors/actresses who aren't trained in acting (most were influencers/idols). Or even if they were trained, their acting is not at the level where they can successfully transition to non-idol dramas (or they tried once or twice due to their popularity aka able to get into one of these dramas but then went back to idol dramas because they didn't do well).

He is the brother of the emperor, so his title is Prince Rui. Yan Chi is the heir of Prince Rui. The emperor has at least 2 brothers, they haven't gone in depth of the other brothers just yet.

Prince Rui and Yan Chi tries to stay neutral in political matters and try not to side with either one of the fractions.

Yes, it is a nice progress from the beginning. Even in the beginning, we saw her saying harsh things to Qin Wan with subtle pushing from Qin Xiang too, so she was never totally bad.

I wonder what the Douban score for this drama will be. 💀 The fans of the other dramas released before this are PISSED at this drama doing really well on the C-side and has been dropping 1 stars on Douban already. Hopefully the viewers rating this drama will balance it out somehow. I think this drama deserves at least 7.0 (above passing) on Douban but I am happy with just at least 6.0 at this point. 💀

She is known to a certain degree in China (her breakout role was when she was 17 years old), but she is not a traffic actress (doesn't have a big fanbase, has more casual drama fans). She is basically one of those actresses that will probably win awards in the future since she also does non-idol dramas that air/will air on CCTV/satellite TV.

Qin Shuang is a cutie. Look at her smacking that servant away for pushing Fu Ling and running to hug Qin Wan to make sure she is safe. 🥲

For sure. 🤣 This drama shows that traffic stars are not everything either. This drama is doing well as it is because non-fans are tuning in. This drama is actually being praised with the episode live comments not being spammed by fans, so the comments are actually witty because they are from non-fans.

Sure, you can have fans constantly spamming comments and buying gifts to increase the heat and stream the episodes on 5 different devices but if the plot sucks or isn't even super terrible enough for people to hate watch, then there is nothing fans can do. Actors/actresses DO NOT carry dramas as much as these fans want to think otherwise, it is teamwork between the actors/actresses, director, producer, etc. + timing & promo.

She was able to enter the Pang residence as a servant. The daughter was because the Madam met the girl and felt bad so adopted her. If the Madam didn't adopt the girl, Qing would have probably just placed her in some other safe location while she carried out the plan.

Yeah, unfortunately, most of these traffic stars generate a really terrible fanbases. 💀 And these stars don't put a stop to it since it is "helpful" for them to have these fans be their proxy and fight over certain things for them be it billing or drama outfit choices.

Yeaaaah, the BL x ARP shippers have been pretty terrible, they have been dragging LLD too because they are upset with this drama (doing better than MM and might do better than Feud) and the shipping.

Even before this drama aired, they were all over videos about this drama trying to claim this was BL's drama and how BL & ARP was supposed to pair again together. 💀 They have been slut-shaming LLD since the ARP x LLD ship has been growing and they are actually doing videos/have magazine shoots together which pisses them off. 💀 Such double standards when BL was doing whole wedding shoots with ZSX as promo.
