May this year brings us health, happiness and all the adaptations!
Even though I am not that active in the comment section, I visit this page almost every day and your comments give me hope.
I hope the new year brings us happiness, health and Immortality πππ

I think the only series that comes to mind as being similar is probably the Japanese drama Isu.
I personally enjoyed the games in season 2 much more. I found them to be mich more entertaining and difficult comparing to season 1.
In season one the only game I would say is clever would be the first one. The others were nothing fantastic and the last one was predictable and lasted longer than it should have.
I agree about the romance and talking though. There were quite a few scenes that were draggy af. I feel like they could have handled some games better in terms of the time we were watching them as viewers. Even though I liked the psychological aspect of it and the questions about being human and the purpose of life, sometimes it felt like they were trying too hard to make it psychological especially since there was barely anything so "philosophical" in the first season.
I hope we get to see more manga adaptations though with this kind of budget
When it happened many people were fighting for their lives. That fight is basically the borderland and the death games that they played there.
It was something like a final game with death and the people who won or got out alive would basically regain their consciousness and keep living. On the other hand the people that fought in the borderland and died were not able to wake up because their wounds from the meteor hitting were fatal.
The borderland games is something like a metaphor for them fighting for their lives after the meteor attack.
Even though I am not sure about the joker in the final scene, I found the ending to be pretty satisfying when it comes to explaining the world of the borderland. It was like they were in the line between life and death. Basically that one minute that Arisu's heart stopped is when all the games were taking place. When he won his heart started beating again.
Hope you enjoy it when it comes out (great choice to wait to watch it in good quality though)!
It is worth the wait though!
It's probably something that has to do with her father. She has flashbacks of an older man having sex with a younger woman so maybe her dad had an intimate relationship with one of his students (since he was a professor).
He may have been involved somehow with ML's family and maybe she wants to take revenge. I am very interested to see if she indeed has a motive. So far I am not 100% sure even though some of her actions are questionable.
A movie with a sex scene involving nudity would be rated 13+ in France (if not G) while a sex scene where there is no actual nudity would be rated 18+ in Korea .
If you ever go to iMDb and check the certifications you will see in multiple cases that the ratings have major differences depending on the country that is being shown.
In this specific case, there is no paedophilia, bullying is there but it is nothing as extreme comparing to kdramas (check weak hero class one for example) and about murder and basically violence there isn't any scene that it is so violent to have a rating of 18+.
There is the student/teacher relationship that is immoral and illegal (in some countries), but it is not based on any type of sexual acts to make it have a higher rating (at least in Taiwan).
If you feel uncomfortable - even a little- with the student teacher relationship though, I would advise you not to watch it.
Who doesn't know about 9-11? Which Korean doesn't know about the IMF crisis? Plus let's not forget that he studied like crazy to go to uni but just couldn't. So knowing some basic historical/entertainment industry knowledge is nothing extraordinary.
He said it himself after all. A day before 9-11 he said "I am the only one that knows about this tragedy that no one really expects".
He is definitely smart, though. He knows what movements to make and when, but not a genius. Knowing that Amazon will be a big name, that Titanic will be a massive hit or that 9-11 will happen (and as a result he will be able to destroy his uncle) is something that he knows only because of his past life.
In his first life he died in vain because he wasn't smart enough to figure out that someone would betray him. He is only human after all.
About being number one, he had literally tons of years to study since his mind was not a child's in his new life.
I agree that he is smart, but a genius is too much when he is having such an advantage. The difference is that this time he has the money and he can actually make a difference that just standing there and wait for the consequences. Even if he was born poor again, knowing things that would happen in the future would also help him make a huge amount of money.
