About your first point, I think it is mostly because of the despair of many of them, talking into consideration they were struggling one way or another for centuries, but I hope the future stories use a different trope. It feels a bit repetitive by now; all of them believing Li Lun or being puppets and having a tragic love story. It has already happened 3 times, so hopefully next cases are a bit different.

It is very well written I agree. However, pacing is not that well done imo. Slow paced series are great, but with this one, it feels like they are mostly doing it just to do it and it doesn't have an impact to the actual atmosphere of the drama.
Barely anything happens each episode and we have the director showing us the back of ML one minute straight. Slow pace is great when it is well done and it would fit this series, but it feels like the director is unable to actually make it matter, because they are overdoing it. No hate, if you like it great, it's just my personal experience with the drama so far.

Han Ah-young, according to other sites. If I am not mistaken that is their first script (I think I read somewhere it won an award on a writing event they are holding, but I may remember wrongly)

Fei is such a tragic character. Good heart, but he can only spread death. That scene with the bird dying in his hands while he praised the beauty of the mortal world and life itself was heartbreaking 💔

I agree. So far, I just can't see it getting interesting. Sometimes, it feels like the Fl is there for show. Because most of the other group is super powerful, FL feels like she doesn't belong and she is there just to be there. Not really bothered by her, but I don't think it will work if it suddenly turns super romantic.

I hope so honestly. I don't really feel it at all so far and sometimes I even feel like the Fl is a supporting role rather than a main role.

Most probably it will develop later, but I hope they focus more on the group dynamics and not on them specifically.

I think they are heading towards romance, but I don't feel it is romance focused at all. My problem is, that the relationship between the two mains and their romance is the least interesting and so far it feels more like they are forcing their storyline compared to the rest of the stories between the characters.

I don't find her acting bad, but I do think the problem is that she is one of the least interesting characters so far, at least in my book.
Especially in the last few eps, she seems to be in the background. I do agree about the "compatibility" though. I wish the relationship between the mains doesn't turn into a crazy romance cause I don't really see it so far.

There is no book that this is based on. They have only taken the mythology aspect from the one mentioned in the synopsis.

I personally really enjoy it and I am in love with the visual aspect, but I get where you are coming from.

I feel that one of the problems is that the series was advertised as an angsty, dark fantasy -and more on the depressing side- series and it is not really that at all at this point. Plus, main "couple" is not doing it for me and the plot is not how I expected it to be. The way the plot is being portrayed on screen with all the flashbacks etc is not ideal.

I also had different expectations cause I loooved MJTY. I expected something else and got something else. MJTY was way darker and more "complex", plus it had some pretty intriguing characters, but I did get into this one chatacter and plot wise after maybe 3-4 eps and I am having fun right now hoping that I will see what the trailer promised.

Way too white, if that makes sense. All the actors use overly white make-up, but on him it is way too much and a completely different color comparing to his neck, it doesn't look great in some angles from my pov. But, well, CL is amazing anyways, so I tried not to get too bothered by it.
