Oh, I get it. Well, if you are into slow paced character driven series you may enjoy it.

Dali and the cocky prince (generally didn't like it and the ''comedy'' was not funny for my taste) and Hometown Cha Cha Cha (it was actually pretty good, but I had no motivation to continue watching it, if that makes sense).

Only watched the first 4 eps, but so far it is more on the ''have fun, don't think too much'' side.

I have dropped 2 out of the 4 I gave a chance to.
Voted for Beyond Evil, but tbh if you watched the first 4/6 eps and didn't like it, it's probably not your cup of tea.

Yeap, there were quite a few rumors circulating because of Kim Sae Ron's DIU scandal. The director chose to not replace her, but to minimize her scenes.

I personally loved some and couldn't even watch others (and to be clear I am talking about the ones produced and broadcasted on netflix not series that were sold to netflix to get broadcasted that are also considered originals like IOTNBO).

The thing with second seasons (parts is not really a problem since they are already filmed and just broadcasted later) is that netflix can easily cancel them (so no ending) or make them after a few years. On the other hand one season is one season. It has an ending and no one must wait for months for the continuation. Regarding the open ending, when a series has one doesn't mean that there should be a 2nd season. Some scriptwriters just prefer an open ending to end their series or movies.

Probably a very big amount of money. On the other hand they will also lose tons of money if they air it internationally and not in China, so that is why they are probably waiting (once again). I hope we get to watch this someday.

A month later, but I found your post interesting, so I wanted to answer. There are a lot of things in the film that are left open for interpretation, so here is mine (sorry for the long post in advance).

1. Your first point is something that is being talked about in the film, so that means that there was a reason that happened that was never clearly mentioned. Sang Hyun says at some point that she may have done it out of shock. Personally I don't think so. No matter how bad that may sound, I feel like she wanted to ''kill'' her baby, but she couldn't actually do it and that is why she left it out in the cold instead of putting it inside the baby box. I believe that for two reasons (and mostly for one of them).
Firstly, I don't see a point for her to come back the exact next day looking for her baby. She either really wanted him back (but still didn't leave any info about herself on the note), regretted what she did and came back hopeful that the baby would be alive (most likely) or she wanted to confirm his death.
Secondly, the baby's name. During the second part of the film it is revealed that his mother named him like that because ''he wanted him to go far away, beyond the sky to the stars''. And even though the kid interprets it as if his mom wanted him to be an astronaut, I think she actually means that she wanted him to go to heaven.

2. Someone from Korea would definitely be more appropriate to answer this. Generally detectives don't wear uniforms (for obvious reasons), but I don't think it is banned. I only remember that scene during the end of them wearing uniforms, and since it looks like they are not on a mission, but in the police station/police academy, I found it quite natural and logical.

3. About the orphanage, I think they just stopped there to gain some rest, take care of the baby properly and for free stay, since Dong Soo either worked there or he grew up there (or both - I don't remember).

4. I am actually wondering about that too. I feel like it is implied in the film that she either had a baby that died, tried to have one and couldn't or has an estranged relationship with her child (I don't think it is that one though).
I do think that she probably had/wanted to have a girl, because of one scene. When she is saying that she couldn't imagine herself leaving her child, she is trying to catch a pink flower outside her car, that I took as symbolism.
Anyhow she is somehow emotionally involved with what is happening. We don't know who she is talking to, but I personally believe it is her (probably) husband, the man appearing in the end. You could interpret that scene in lots of ways.

First of, sorry for the late answer.

For me, the crew members are the only ones that actually have a problem. Most of them get paid regular salaries that will help them cover the expenses of the month (if they are lucky).

I agree that the actors get paid less because the eps are less, but it is not that tragic.
The amount of money they earn for an episode is already huge anyways, unless they are newbies and are now starting their career.

Plus if they are famous they earn much more than just 40.000 (for example Kim Soo Hyun earned like 430.000 dollars per episode for an 8 episode drama. I mean he earned a salary that someone would earn in years in just one ep. A family could live for a lifetime with the money he earned for one series).

Besides most actors that have a name don't just wait for a drama to gain money. Most of them do ads, sponsor stuff or have other things that help them earn money.
Of course there are actors that are not famous and gain way less. Those actors may have a problem, but again its not like they sign a contract without knowing what they will earn or how many eps they will make. Most actors also have managers that guide them with their finances.

Regarding the dramas, most networks have slots so yeap, basically and logically there are more dramas because an 8 episode drama will end in half the time a 16 episode drama would end and they will have to replace it sooner. Of course there are other actors starring in the new drama, but that means that maybe more actors will get a chance to have a role in a series.

I can fully get the crew members loosing out and the newbies, but not all actors. And specifically in this case, Kim Tae Hee is like super rich and Im Ji Yeon's net worth skyrocketed after The Glory.
Plus most supporting actors have multiple projects per year. But again, the more famous the richest you get.

Yeap, that is probably it from a financial point but with seasons not parts.
Second parts are usually filmed (or close to being fully filmed) or even edited when the part 1 drops.
Yeah, same regarding the break. I don't get it. It also makes me less interested in the second part/season.
