It is definitely not for everyone though. It's a bit slow placed.
It has a great dark and cinematic atmosphere, deals with many themes and definitely leaves many questions for the viewer to find out.
Good acting, dark atmosphere with lack of comedic elements.
Pretty interested to see where this will go.
I love it too! I doubt we will get it soon, but at least we will probably watch it someday and hopefully it will be as good as the first or better!
It looks like it may have been translated in Malay (I think).
It appears if you search it as Lies hidden I'm my backyard. I can't find anything regarding its purchase though.
Young FL (she was 9) met him when he was probably in high school. If those were korean ages she probably was 8 and male lead 18.
So since she is 24 now he must be around 34.
We are lucky this is on netflix and we have a chance of watching it. Otherwise, his career is ruined for now at least in Korea. Just the fact that he tested positive is bad enough to ruin his reputation.
Anyways, that aside I personally watch whatever picks my interest. Lately, no series from any of the available reagions on mdl appealed to me. Everything looks mediocre or repetitive.
Nope, that is not exactly true. Koreans make multiple dramas a year in different genres. Chinese too. The thing is that each country has a genre of dramas that they make most. For example China produces many more fantasy/period dramas in a year compared to Korean. Plus there is the whole censorship problem and the number of eps that keeps a lot of people from watching Cdramas.
It also depends on the time of the year and what is popular. Right now Kdramas are more popular. When Till the end of the moon was airing for example it was all over the feeds, so everything depends on many things.
I don't know if things there are different, but when it comes to the international audience it is obvious that they prefer Kdramas (you can check platforms like Netflix to confirm it), not that this means that they are better than other dramas, but they are definitely better in the production aspect, more popular due to the hallyu wave and they actually get promoted comparing to series from other countries. Plus they are easire to find. A few years back it was almost impossible to find some dramas from other countries with decent subs.
Sorry, that was long.
I am searching the comment section for any firts impressions.
It's available in my region and I am from Greece.
Even though I haven't watched anything from this writer, I have heard really good things about Haechi and Dong Yi is considered a classic. That's pretty good if you ask me.
I also haven't watched the majority of the actors, but that doesn't really matter. I only know Park Gyu Young. She is pretty good if you ask me, she just choosed bad roles and projects.
I don't see a point to rate something before watching it. You can just not rate it...
I mean it is like writing a review about a movie you haven't watched. If you ask me, giving the first ep a chance is always the best choice.
