Have in mind that is very slow paced though. That aside, it has great acting and atmosphere and the plot is interesting if you are into mysteries (also has book vibes).
Those are some really bad news π₯²
About hyx, we will never know...
They could drop it today, next month, next year or not at all. We can just wait π₯²
Is she the wife of her brother? She keeps saying "oppa", but I don't get it. Who is she referring to?
Personally I don't think I have watched any with heavy gaslighting, especially in this dark/non makjangish way if that makes sense.
Well plot wise kind of. Both series have horror elements and some parts of their plot take part in a village. They also have 3 main people taking part in solving the mystery (even though we haven't got there with Revenant yet).
In both series we have the "possessed" one, the police officer and the "expert one" (the priest on The Guest and a folklore professor here).
However a big difference is that The Guest mostly focused on demon/exorcism while this one mostly focuses on folklore. Both series also have a very similar atmosphere. Funny thing is that even though they have many similarities that I realized by answering you, they don't really feel that similar. Imo this one is creepier, the story is more interesting and so is the pacing. Plus I think (if I noticed correctly) that Revenant is not censored.
I hope this one is worth it, because it definitely has what it takes to be good as long as the execution is good.
Yes, sure. I just wanted to mention my pov.
I think it is a good thing going to the comment section to get multiple opinions and not base their decision on the ratings, but I on the other hand, I also get, like u said, that some people check the ratings to make a decision. Either because it is tge easy/obvious way or because comment sections are a bit "dangerous" (spoilers wise).
Tbh I don't think so. It just came out so probably most people will check the comment section or ask if it is bad because of the rating. At least if they have been on mdl for a while.
That aside, that only happens on Kdramas. Notice the Jdramas. The majority of them don't have high ratings to begin with no matter the genre, because people just tend to focus more on Kdramas.
All that aside, a romcom is not necessary bad because it is a romcom and a political/mystery (or whatever other drama besides romance) is not necessarily better than a romcom. Plus let's not forget, that it is much more difficult for a non romance drama to be good, because it is mostly based on logic and plot holes are not really allowed. Viewers rightly tend to be much more strict, especially since many series tend to be repetitive and predictable. Basically people just have different expectations. If a romantic series is clichΓ© no one cares that much, because that is one of the main reasons someone may watching it.
I agree about the popular leads part. People may rate something higher because they like an actor/actress and also many more people will be watching it. But at the same time, it is natural to be favorable to an actor actress you enjoy watching.
