Nice aesthetics, good dubbing that you don't even notice it's dubbing, good acting, very interesting and fun to watch plot and what steals the show are the interesting characters.
I would 100% recommend you to give it a chance and see if it is for you.
I mostly use the app. It's more convenient for me, but yes it is not the same as the browser version and has some cons (posting on feeds is not working properly for example and you can't see custom lists - plus it is a beta version or something so there are constant updates which means that at times some things may not be working). But it is much more convenient and faster for checking comments on drama pages or updating watchlist and reading the feeds.
However, if you are still curious, you should give ep. 2 a chance and if it bores you it is safe to say that it is just not a series you will enjoy.
DP is not a series for everyone. It is dark (also cinematography wise) and pretty slow paced. It wasn't anything like what I was expecting in terms of pacing especially after watching the trailer that seemed more action packed and fast paced.
I also did rate it highly though because in the end of the day it is really good foe what it is. It deals with many sensitive subjects ans has interesting characters. But, if u ask me, it is completely natural that you couldn't get into it.
I think the key is not really having very high expectations and knowing what you will walk into.
Plus, for me, it is not binge worthy. One episode once in a while will help you watch it.
I haven't watched season 2 yet, just here to check the comments.
I know it is a reality and I didn't say it wasn't but the way they portrayed it it was like they were yelling at me "look this kid is holding a gun and laughing". It looked forced, like they just wanted to add those scenes for the sake of it.
There are many movies with kids holding guns, like Blood Diamond that you mentioned and many others like American sniper or movies with kids being used to kill or planted with bombs like Hurt Locker, but all those movies besides being realistic, they also don't look like they added those scenes for the sake of it. They had an actual purpose for the plot and they were the harsh reality. They didn't overdramatize anything with making the child actors laugh or making close ups over and over again and making them look ridiculouts.
In this case they looked very forced with overdramatic closeups and it felt they were there for the sole reason of filling screen time. And an attempt to make a statement.
That's how I perceived it as a viewer and comparing to other movies that portray scenes like these. They didn't make me feel anything or be like "that is such a harsh reality", those scenes made me roll my eyes. To each his own though.
I really like blue in pallets. I love it in series. It is pretty pleasing to the eye.
What mostly made me drop Signal were expectations. At the time it was one of the few series in that genre (investigation etc) and everyone was praising it non stop. But I literally almost fell asleep during the first episode and no matter how much I tried I couldn't get into the plot and I wasn't super fond of the cases and the acting. It just didn't click for me.
Lost, well to undagger your heart, I actually liked it. At the same time though, I felt like there was something missing from it. Even though it was great in all aspects (directing, acting, unique melancholic plot) I couldn't fully connect with what was happening. I suppose it was also partly my fault because I expected something like my mister or something different and more based on the No longer human book. I also wasn't that hooked to wait for two eps a week and since it was not on any platforms that I had access on, I didn't feel that much motivated to continue (I tend to drop many on air series for this reason).

I actually wanted to watch it back then, but I never did. I had heard good things about it, but on the other hand they did compare it to signal that I highly disliked.
Love the ML though. He doesn't get enough attention.
IT IS!!! Rated it a ten and it is also on my fav dramas custom list and on my profile π€
Yeap, I had started it, but it was pretty peculiar. I don't know. Had a very unique vibe. I love Masaki Suda too.
I didn't want to to be honest, but my parents were a bit obsessed with it so I watched a few eps on TV.
I actually have dropped The last empress (it's not on my list though, because I had watched like 1.5 episode lol). I tried watching it after penthouse, because it is from the same scriptwriter I think, but it wasn't for me.
Less than evil looks good, but I have semi watched the original, so I don't know. SHK though π
I also semi dropped iunakare after half an episode, but I want to give it a try again, since then I wasn't really in the mood and it felt weirder than I thought.
dele is one of my fav series πππ
I loved the two main leads so much π₯°
How many eps are in total?
I love it too π
It is so much better that I expected!
It could also be a bit of your fault again π
I think they don't want to work together as a couple again, which is natural for multiple reasons, but GMMTV has them together whenever they get the chance.
That aside, if they have just written it without watching, it is unfortunately a pretty common habit of some people that just want to rate a series badly for one reason or another.
I started yesterday wanted to watch only one episode and thinking that it is the right time, since it only has 3 eps left and I ended up watching 4 and I would watch more if I didn't work today...
