I am not entirely sure they are not the same person, but I agree they may be different. I believe it is one of the character's hiding in plain site. I hope they provide a good justification as to who is who.

I think it is a good idea they don't heavily promote it and I think it is doing quite good in China. Like the other user mentioned, the director is shadow banned in China. He has been in many scandals and he uses an alias for this series. And then of course we had that other actor being part of a very serious allegation. I think they either chose not to risk it or maybe it was basically their only choice to not promote it that heavily.

I don't really get what is happening in that aspect, unless there was a mistranslation or we both understood something wrong.

Is there a release schedule?

One episode is definitely not enough, but on the other hand I am glad that they are not mass releasing the episodes. It's much more interesting and more entertaining to just watch it at the same pace as everyone else and definitely I like how no one knows where the story will lead, since the book is not fully released yet and there is no way to just watch the last episode, because you paid.

I wouldn't really call her weak. She followed the lead of Shangguan Qian from the get go in many cases. I do believe she is fooling her and she is not just a Chi though.Imo the other characters are much more interesting from the get go. They are better written and more complicated. From my pov, in the first 6 eps even though we did focus mostly on YWS, I felt like the scriptwriter and director didn't want to just make this series about her, but mostly to have her as part of a bigger story with different characters that all are equally important for the plot. The last few eps, they focus much more on the two leads. However that is highly uninteresting for me, not because they are not interesting as characters, but because their scenes last long but there are nor actually that many things that are happening nor do they have the dynamics that other characters have. FL is very interesting, but I hope they don't turn her into a woman blinded by love that decides to sacrifice even her freedom for a man. I hope they take a different route for once and let her choose herself.

ML was not smart to begin with and tbh I hope he doesn't magically change into a powerful and capable leader, because that would be an awful choice.As for the FL, I don't agree. I dropped Fairy and Devil, because of her extremely thin voice, but she doesn't do such a thing here. Yes, there are times that she thins her voice a bit, but that's part of the role that she is playing and a way to look more believable.I do agree that there are some scenes that I find a bit cheesy comparing to the rest of the drama and it's atmosphere, but so far they are not that bad and there are scenes that take me back to the dark reality of what us actually happening.
