I just came to check the comments and bit and I saw this.
Now I can't wait to watch the new eps.

To be honest I don't get the whole dissapointment about screentime of the 'couples'.
From my POV, I don't even see any couples; first main leads and second main leads. I perceive them more as individual characters and I think they all have a fair share of screentime for what is happening in the plot.
Since this is certainly not the typical romance -I barely see any actual romance tbh-, I can't really have them in my mind as the ''main'' and ''secondary'' couple, because the plot and schemes seem to be much more important to the writer than developing any type of romance. Characters wise, I agree that GZY is underdeveloped in terms of what we may have wanted and maybe -because we can't be sure unless we could actually watch them- the cut scenes offered something more to his character. Imo though, the fact that the plot acknowledges that the ML is not all powerful and ''foolishly kind'' as JF said is a very interesting and unique approach.
He may be the ML, but he doesn't feel that ''main'' to me, even though he has a very thick plot armor. All characters are important and honestly, I would love to see a different and unexpected ending -even though that will probably not happen-.

If I do the same, I might take it too literally and be the one turning into an assassin while at work, so not a good idea 😂

I'd also add this isn't a typical romance focused drama. It isn't all fluff, slow motions and romantic background music. It is focused much more on the schemes aspect than the actual romance and I actually appreciate that we get such an approach even now that we are more than halfway through.

I get why. She does seem a bit attached to him and all and it looks like she wants to protect him, but from my pov I can't say she is in love with him.
I also can't see why she would fall in love this easily.

It depends on each person's pov I suppose. I understand why some people say that she's in love. Her reaction was a bit too much for what she is actually doing, but for me again, I feel she was feeling many different things at the same time, not that she was crying or protected him because she fell madly in love with him.

Not exactly for my favs, but for everyone. With the tyoe of atmosphere this series has, having a HE would be pretty unfitting.

How I see it GZY has a crush on her. The type of puppy first love. He doesn't have any second thoughts about her. Always blabbering and spilling secrets. Giving her gifts and trying to satisfy her. He never received any type of love and he is overwhelmed with the idea of another person caring about him.

As for YWS, I don't feel that she loves him. More like she sees in him a life that she can't have. A normal life with a loving husband that takes care of her without having any actual worries. She doesn't want him dead, but at the same time I don't feel like she is in love with him.
For me the scene in ep. 13 where she stands in front of him, besides showing that she doesn't want him dead, it's like she is trying to get away from a difficult situation. Always looking at that cup of tea, it felt like she wouldn't bare to attack him, but she would if she had to.

At this point I am scared, because all the theories here are very interesting and it would be a pity if the actual script is not even close to being as good as the theories.

Yes, very. People working for the entertainment industry get canceled very easily. I think the most common reason for cancelation that I have noticed is tax evasion. No matter how popular the actor/actress is, they get immediately canceled along with their dramas. Of course any type of personal scandals also affect them. It depends on what it is. The thing is that when it is a crime they need to get punished, but many times it is just something that happens in their personal life and gets on the spotlight. Even though it is not illegal, C-netizens start to criticize them and as a result their popularity and net worth falls. Even if it is something minor, if the people start hating on them, many times sponsors abandon their projects and as a result it is not financially sane for any company to hire them and it goes on and on.

You can check Deng Lun's case that is fairly recent to get an idea.
Same thing happens in Korea more or less.

There was a quite recent case of plagiarism regarding the movie The Yin Yang Master that's available on Netflix. I think it got pulled off off chinese theaters because of the allegations and since he was accused in the past it doesn't look good. That aside, from a quick search it seems like he got voted the most hated male celebrity a few years in a row. Not the greatest thing in China...

Imo after ep. 7 nothing vital has happened.
The series is dialogue heavy and it is mostly focused on the visual storytelling. I personally enjoy it quite a lot along with the characters, music and everything else, but if you got tired by ep. 8 -that is imo where the story stars to slow down- I don't think you will enjoy the rest of the eps that have aired.
