Uhm, I’m not sure if you ever have a long term crush. if your crush has always been there, and he’s also always available (single), and he has never done anything for you to dislike or change your mind about him, why would you then suddenly stop loving/liking him? these guys grew up together, their love for one another is a muddy area. on the one hand, they are family, on the other hand, that love and the love between man a woman can be blurry. and when you are so busy with work, you don’t really have time to find a date. look at haikou, his current gf is also his first love lol.
and I don’t agree with the “they just want them together” - if they just want them together, they would have more stuffs in it, they wouldn’t have WH also have feeling for SiYi, they wouldn’t have FH know WH also have feeling for SiYi. Love or relationship sometimes come very naturally. it can come from just hang out with each other frequently, and then you realise there is something else, something more. last and not least, when you have multiple options (whether because you are rich or handsome or both), who you chose to be with is what important. if you don’t have that understand to commit, you will not have a good marriage life.

the latest two eps took me by surprise! I couldn’t believe the support XWH gave to XC regarding XFH! and I couldn’t believe how much I love the three boys as adults. they could be fighting, they could be constantly teasing each other, but they were always there for each other, understanding and give supports no matter what! I’m loving their boys moments! and hoping to see more!
I also love the hidden love messages WH gives to FH, and I love how she was able to read them all. also love how they revealed why WH treated FH that way. can’t wait for tomorrow eps! it’s going to be good 🤣

haha, because during their high school time, you see the potential angsty love triangle. but it didn’t get realised (because it ain’t an idol drama). and now, we are at the adult arc, instead of full on romantic stuffs, we are still on career focus path lol. and love story tends to able to hold audiences much better than just career focus lol

I think we also miss a bit of memories here, that might affect how she approaches him. she’s no longer see him as “potential lover”. she loves him, but treat him as a friend, there is wall she built up here (at least I felt the old her n her are quite different when it comes to deal with XWH).

it’s not that bad lol. by and large, he’s still a decent person, and still treat her well. his reasoning is if she fails, he can house her, so no biggy lol. so his “bad treatment” aren’t that bad lawl

very subtle thing about WH and XFH’s relationship:
1: within their close circle, everyone knows FH love WH
2: WH knew in his heart but he mostly denied it or trained himself to not see it, yet he cares when she isn’t asking him for help (remember she always ask him for help when they were little). he cares how she sees him.
3. after what his dad said to him, I guess he couldn’t deny it any more, and see how everything she said/has done scream how much she loves him

the story is about the canal and 6 families that have connections with it. it’s not romance focus, and even though we know where the romance will be, there’s very little skinship, or romantic slow-mo, filled with nice OST to create the mood lol. soooo ppl just don’t like it and rate it low

technically, none of them are main leads lol. they are leads, not main 🤷‍♀️

the one thing his dad wants is for him to get into pass the exam. he hated his dad so much that he wants to make sure it doesn’t happen. in a sense, the same as SiYi. she knew if she does well, her mum will constantly come back to bother her. sigh, these two kids 😔

the writer came out and said she finished the script before they found BL. so whether FH was created outside the novel or not - is not important here. what’s important is the character was created WAY BEFORE BaiLu was considered as a cast. So this rumour from Weibo is 100% not true, the writer didn’t even know BL was being casted. she was surprised that BL was being casted. those are what you need to focus on, not the unfounded rumours.

in regards to your concern on whether this will disrupt the romance: this is a slice of life drama, not an idol drama. there is romance, because life does, but it’s not the focus here. if you have seen even just the first episode, you would have guessed the main theme the drama try to push is the canal lol. every 15mins or so, the canal is being mentioned lol!

lol, let me just put it this way to you, most popular dramas (not all, but most) would have a 5 point something rating. the one that ppl want to destroy (due to whatever reasons) will have a 2-3 point rating!

any drama that have a 7+ is a good drama in C-netz’s POV

with the 40eps limit, they have to do the time slip and show flashback of key points: so far, Thats how we learned why XC turned out this way. because he was completely fine, n working hard at life with FH, then suddenly now he’s the bad kid. but the 2008 flashback shows that he felt left behind, when all his friends work so hard and have a direction. he, himself, was lost, regretting his choice of not doing the exam. and so while his friends are busy doing stuffs, he’s wallowed in silly, destructive thoughts, n frustrated easily with things don’t go his way, n easily jumping into risky business. because he wanted to show he, too, also have a direction, that his choice back then wasn’t a mistake.
while we are so used to cdrama explaining everything to us. it’s like life, you are busy with life, n when you catch up with friend, suddenly your friend ain’t the same, it’s messed up, and you are not sure why

don’t focus on the heat index, even on MDL, the discussion is very little, so it won’t be able to reach 10k on iqiyi lol
