I will sit through anything for this man but sometimes it's hard... the script makes little sense as there is a lot of focus on her husband from her 1st life who helped kill HER suddenly loving and being obsessed with being with her. Wang Yuwei is the Prince of another nation but hes a very passive role despite having '100,000 troops waiting outside the city'. There weren't many intimate scenes/kisses but what WAS there WELL showcased his superb skills.

Here's the way it has read to me. She is conflicted about lying her way into the family because she sees that they are genuinely nice people and have begun to accept her, despite her lie. She was conflicted about using her connection with the oldest brother because they hadn't actually discussed anything of the sort and it feels dishonest to her to claim such loyalty towards another male when she IS a known loyal person towards those she loves (as evident by the fact she left home and followed her ex into exile).
However, there is level of disconnect that she has to put between herself and her feelings because of her CAUSE. This cause involves military secrets and the lives of unknown number of soldiers (counting at least all those who died with her father's army and then again the 70,000 who died with the Wei army) as well as the very personal death of her father and near death of her brother which led to their family downturn. She is willing to do anything, (except committing treason herself most likely) to uncover the truth of what happened in the past and what is currently STILL happening.

I'm assuming it HAS to be a dream but I saw the preview and immediately thought 'okay... let's skip ALL the next episodes and go straight to THAT one!' 🤣😍

He believes he loves her. Whether he "actually" loves her is objective based on your views of what constitutes love. That's the best answer I can give since it's not a case of him pretending to love her for some type of gain.

There are multiple factors involved, not JUST her. Personally if you read the comments here you see a very mixed response... I'm in the more negative side but I think actually that his descent was my favorite portion of the show.

based on the trailers that are out already up through ep 9 you will probably be okay still starting back up again once 10 comes out like your original plan, I was just actually trying to say that the "sad" is very early and looks like it will be moving on tomorrow's episodes or next days depending on the schedule you keep up with

Honestly the way this story processes reminds me of old bodice rippers with a "first love" that has to be forgotten by the FL while she misunderstands and tries to ignore other women claiming to be important to the ML. Complete with unspoken feelings for eachother but a healthy sex drive.
ML is very much in love with her but is NOT portrayed as a nympho and after the birth control soup scene present in all, they practice abstinence to prevent unwanted pregnancy until she's ready.

If you're wondering:
Version 2 - Is the most romantic but also has a rather choppy story that benefits from watching another version.
Version 3 - Is the best Overall with the increased time to better tell the story and flesh out the characters. While the ML is portrayed 'slightly' less as an insatiable nympho what is shown is definitely more on the erotic side than the sensual side.

2nd of 3 (so far) of this adaptation. ML is basically a nympho and once they're married they spend "almost" as much time intimate as they do NOT. Up to marriage the plot is the same as the other 3 though this one had the "brother" being extra scummy and actually having promised to marry her "eventually" rather than it being noncommittal noises.

Also, since it sounds like you didn't know, any time there's a listed adaptation in the description of a drama you can search some of those words and anything "also" listed as an adaptation of it will come up (so for instance in this case if you searched 'Bi Wo Jia She (...any more of name if you want to...)'

🙂 Just so you know if you like this story, 'this' is the 2nd version and the one you linked is the 3rd. The 1st version tends to be skipped because comments don't like the fact that it takes longer for the FL to fully let go of the brother and there are misunderstandings in that one where the brother actually hands her the divorce paper and she 'dumbly' brings it home 💀 (among other issues)

🤡 I uhhhh wasn't expecting this to be a comedy.... Especially not one where you stare at it blinking going 'yup, that just happened'.

My bingo card has it listed as "FL is dumb as a brick but brilliant when the script says she is" and it was crossed off the moment FOR SURE the moment she wandered to that deserted road in the middle of the night by herself near the beginning.

While I personally thought he did very well in all aspects I can understand why some people wouldn't be fully on board with his 'charisma and screen presence' because I think I initially felt that in the beginning episodes also but by the time I was drawn in I was so hooked that it felt like he DID have a presence... not sure I'm making sense 😅
Meanwhile, your comment about the storytelling of the parts after the 1st arc are 💯 with mortal being even weaker than the demon... It and the fact that the support characters didn't have strong characterization and scenes as I would have preferred to support the storline more, I could only give it a 9.5 because my brain KEPT comparing it to the the balanced arcs and support character stories of LBFD (which yes is unfair but I have to choose my rating gradient SOMEHOW 😅)

The ML HAS to take the other Concubine so he goes at night and pretends to sleep with her after being drunk so she doesn't lose face but then she flaunts herself in front of FL which causes her to be called into the courtyard and be reprimanded but both FL and ML gave her no fuck during the entire e change....
When it came time for the Main Consort they didn't even care and just left her alone completely...
