I want season 2 but more on exploring the origin of the zombie fighters and the first queen
That’s all from the original Daomu Biji plot… Actually even the hallucination from the mural is DMBJ’s common plot. This explores origins of it, also the ghost seal with the copper fish. https://kisskh.at/28695-the-lost-tomb-2
I think the original plan that Kennedy Xu had for this TV series was to actually expand on Wang Zhang Hai’s secrets and origins but the drama got bought over entirely shortly after they started producing it. It might be partially coz there is no original DMBJ novel specifically written on Wang Zhang Hai, so regardless an entirely new script/storyline must be produced.
This in a way is kinda painful to watch. Having similar character to Su Xiao albeit not as extreme, so many of the scenes, sub-plots, hit very close to home…. I also work for an inefficient MNC with a strong legacy and culture problem… funny thing is it’s actually listed…
The might have maintained the plot of Daomu Biji wrt that….. esp when they also revealed he has no sons…..…
He isn’t human…. It’s related to the Ghost Seal and the copper fish. But it’s actually meant for the DongXia kingdom though…. So I don’t know. It’s still a guess right now as to how much of the DMBJ plot they retained.
I wonder if they will follow the Ghost Seal plot from Daomu Biji…. I keep thinking they might because the Emperor…
lol. It’s very lengthy. Because it’s a series of novels. In the original novels the emperor isn’t human… I noticed MDL leaving the original ‘Fantasy’ genre tag… but if they are going with undead soldiers then they have kept the original plot of the Ghost Seal and copper fish so far.
I’m curious too so I went looking, he first appears in Ep.14…. I think the whole Love in Pavillion related arc is from Ep14 to 20…. So it’s probably somewhere there….
Super good, but it’s so difficult to find online…. Even raw without subs. I think one of the reasons it’s good it’s because they made it a Russia-China production, and most of it was shot in Russia itself. So that added a layer of realism… and it’s the first time I’ve seen like significant portion of the script + cast being Russian. It’s basically like 60% Chinese bits and 40% Russian bits… so basically I can’t understand 40% of it without subs…
I was totally stunned by the final case…. I wonder if it is based on a real case, I actually think it might…
Yes, I just came across it, I think the producers singled out the first case and relabelled it ‘documentary’ with 6 episodes…. It’s available on some Mainland platforms…
Mainland productions are improving exponentially in these type of genres in the recent years… it’s part of educating and informing the society too I spse…. It’s a more direct and effective approach… Hurm, but I do think there are definitely aspects that differ in reality, many incidents are likely covered up… I came across the below when looking into all these juvenile ‘re-education’ centres.
My jaw just dropped. What a sick, deprave, disgusting and morally corrupt human. 🤢💩👹We need a second…
I was totally stunned by the final case…. I wonder if it is based on a real case, I actually think it might be because they backdated it to 2015…. I mean rape of minors/statutory rape happens in a lot of countries and it tends to go on for many years undiscovered esp in Asian countries… i.e a S.Korean film, Silenced, that is based on an actual case but I dare not watch it, it sounds so painful….
but the way they presented the final case here, esp the plot and the intricate details, I don’t know…. I find it so creepy and like it’s actually so disturbing if it really happened…. I think it’s also because subconsciously I know this can totally happen in Mainland… the country itself is so big, way too big a population, too many states, all with different level of progress and development… But rape is a very unique crime….. because the act in itself is very difficult to prove and even the legal definition of rape differs by countries…
Side note: Vengo Gao’s “sauna walking-around-chicken” was super hilarious… I lol-ed. 🤣🤣🤣

The summary of the Ghost Seal:

amazing co-production, glad they paired it with a healthy budget and solid cinematography…
Of course a seasoned cast, well executed and logical plot is a given…
Per MDL’s gauge this should be closer to a 8.5 if it was subbed.
Wish this would get subbed.

Sun Li is Shanghainese though, I meant I suspected it because of the show and Google-ed, it’s stated in her Chinese Wikipedia page.
