Apparently really unrealistic according to a recent comment :-/ I guess I won't be getting an MBA from watching…
It’s not the most accurate or technical compared to some other dramas… but they have tried to explicitly include relevant bits and jargons. Those are real…. I even learnt something from it regarding blockchain, I thought that was very smart… a lot of pov and stuff about M&A is also true….
I mean if you are talking about bits like the intern revealing deadline then yes, I can’t imagine that happening in real life…. This series has dramatic moments here and there versus some of the really corporate dramas like Misaeng…. I believe they could have made the plot super realistic but they would have needed someone who used to work in MnA to be the screenwriter instead of just serving as a consultant….
I would say it does reflect a lot of things realistically but of course not entirely…. Like I don’t see why the MnA team isn’t like buried in due diligence, long hours, models, and ppt… they also didn’t hire external consultants i.e lawyers, investment bankers, auditors…. Those usually make up a bulk of the entire team even with an in-house MnA team. If it’s really like a deal size and the complexity they set up, it will require at least 50 people in total to be in the loop. Definitely way more than 5 of them…
This is probably more in-line with the Kdrama Numbers….
I can’t watch this anywhere anymore….. 😭😭😭 someone help please, I want to watch the Cantonese version!!!
This is still the saddest and most heart-wrenching TV series I’ve ever watched…… I actually find it quite realistic, mainly because of the way the script was executed, although the theme itself is very cliché..
I also find myself overly invested in the drama because I would have reacted the same way, made the same decisions as the FL given her predicament… hence the realism for me…
Fiona Sit was really perfect for the role….. I have no idea why I felt it was so natural, maybe it’s because she herself is somewhat like the FL character, or maybe her acting skills is really that amazing…. Not entirely sure….. But she was one of the main reasons I cried so much…..
I watched this in 2008, but it was so memorable and touching that I’ve never forgotten it even though it’s nearly two decades later…. Thank goodness for the HK production because this aged really well…. I guess maybe that’s why the original movie is a classic….
Oh my, after Legend of Shen Li I just Knew he is the one to watch👌
But frankly speaking he’s considered very lucky in the C-entertainment world….. to have a proper ML role so quickly after that role in Shen Li…. Not to mention a high budget production with a good script…. There is this actor who has amazing acting skills called Wang Duo who never had a real ML role since he started, and I’m still waiting…….. 🤣
Let’s hope this beats half of the Cdramas out there and develops towards a good ending….
I think revenge is definitely going to be a big motivating factor .
Yea, good point! Given she is immature, all over the place and like easily jealous….. I’m not surprised. But poison is a bit of an extreme method though, so I don’t know…. The intention is a lot more heinous versus like wot she did with the smallpox…. The method resembles the work of her mother instead….
Oh my, after Legend of Shen Li I just Knew he is the one to watch👌
I think it was also partially because his character there did a 180degree turn which I guess most people didn’t expect? Well at least I didn’t…. lol… I was quite torn, but also felt pity for my poor puppy….
Oh my, after Legend of Shen Li I just Knew he is the one to watch👌
He had a different gaze there…. His eyes were so….. pure, genuine…. lol. I thought he was actually very cute, like a puppy, in Shen Li…. Honestly I usually don’t remember actors and actresses I watch for the first time, but he definitely left a strong impression there.
Oh my, after Legend of Shen Li I just Knew he is the one to watch👌
But he’s the only ML here!!! Instead of being the SML…. His character in Shen Li really made my heart ache…. To some extent I wanted Shen Li to pick him…. 🤣
I think revenge is definitely going to be a big motivating factor .
Haha, Si Jin is in the minority for Cdramas…. so that is the opposite… I have a hard time getting past the first 10-20 episodes, so I left it and watched like the eps after that and it’s so much better!! I tried going back again to start it properly but failed…. So it starts slow (and personally I find it quite boring) and then gets better in mid and towards the end. I’m curious how the last few episodes will turn out…
i don't understand why she wanna be with that family so bad
Haha, same…. That’s perhaps the only bit of the plot which I think is illogical so far, but then after I gave it some thought... It kinda makes sense for someone who is only 17 yrs old…. I think it’s curiosity and also a sense of belonging…. It probably is also related to her character, I think she wants to have her name cleared and instead of being abandoned, she is the kinda person that would want to decide her own fate and walk out of the main door of her own accord…
I think revenge is definitely going to be a big motivating factor .
Oh yes! Speaking of that! I hated the synopsis for revealing that. It’s a MAJOR spoiler, I totally had 0 suspicions towards the father coz too many Cdramas have this sort of biased fatherly character….. shouldn’t MDL edit it??
Yes!! This has surprisingly been a great so far, I think there were a lot of releases the past 12 months that ended up being good productions with some budget, started off strongly but just ended up being average or like an easy but forgettable watch…..
I think revenge is definitely going to be a big motivating factor .
I think she actually had no explicit intentions or plans to return to the manor because honestly with Chai Jing she could have easily achieved it at any time…. So I think it wasn’t for any pressing reason, but because she already murdered her aunt and uncle and she just genuinely wanted to return home since she just lost her “home” albeit a cruel one….. I mean I personally wouldn’t have returned and I would have left with Chai Jing, but episode 6 (or was it 5) just reminded me that she is only 17 yrs old…. More than anything I think she was curious who her blood family really is….
Yea! I’m definitely impressed that she isn’t scared of her mother. lol. I mean if I was 17 and had never met my so-called mother, I would be super scared meeting her for the first time if she did wot she did in Ep 1…. 🤣🤣🤣
I think revenge is definitely going to be a big motivating factor .
I think the revenge plot stems from the mother, I think that’s wot her mother has been trying to do/investigate….. It probably is related to the demise of her own Ruan family, but this is probably only a side plot….. I think everything will converge with the ML’s investigation to form a major arc for the TV drama towards the end….
I think revenge is definitely going to be a big motivating factor .
I actually don’t think so…. I think she will be involved in the mystery and investigation part of the drama, basically wot the ML is investigating…. She didn’t really return to the manor for revenge….
I jaw-dropped when she tacitly agreed to kill the ML….. 😮 I was like “wow……”
But I actually think she does think about consequences a lot….. she is shrewd, astute, scheming… countryside life was simple, with nothing but poverty and abuse for her, but it definitely wasn’t straightforward because of her aunt and uncle…. And don’t forget the drama hasn’t revealed how she and Chai Jing met…. I think her life in the countryside is probably just as complicated as her life in the Zhuang manor…
I jaw-dropped when she tacitly agreed to kill the ML….. 😮 I was like “wow……”
I mean the situation with her uncle and aunt, I get it…. Even I myself, I don’t know, I think it’s very very difficult for anyone to accurately say how they’d react unless he/she is in the exact same situation… nobody can fully guarantee the final outcome, esp when it could be survival instinct….
But the ML basically did nothing to her….. yet….. at that point in time…. Damns… she was ruthless man…. 🤣🤣🤣 it’s a totally different scenario altogether… I mean if she goes around assassinating every person that gets on her nerve she might as well be an antagonist…. lol…. I think wot she really meant by her silence is “well, I don’t mind him dying…….. though I wouldn’t do anything to him myself” which makes her a very grey character…..
