How is the writing and story? I'm usually not that into chemistry and kisses, and modern dramas tend to go that route, hence the question. Thank you for your help.

Same here. Hence rewatching Minglan until more new shows air. Because none of the currently airing shows are doing it for me.

They already did the deed long ago. In the entire drama, there were a minimum of 2-3 instances that indicated that they did the deed in those respective nights.

Original in terms of direction and execution. This drama didn't perfunctorily go through the 'checklist' just to milk money from the viewers, which they could have easily opt for especially with this cast.

The novel is nothing like the drama either.

It's a happy ending. Political part is not that difficult to guess, it's as we expected.

The last episodes were focused mainly on the characters. All the characters got proper closures.

I was snort and tears even though it's obviously an HE. 😭

I could connect with all the characters, and felt so much for each of their endings. Truly excellent writing for the characters.

Finally finished! My heart is so full right now. ❤️❤️😭

For me, this is a perfect ending. Not every story needs to conclude in a similar predefined format to be considered 'good' ending.

This drama embraced 'imperfections' within human, and crafted a beautiful story out of it. They tried something new, and they pulled it off. It has now firmly taken a special place in me. I'll be rewatching this often.

It truly is a superb sequence. I'm enjoying it so much.

I don't like Mo Jingli from the beginning. But, at the end, though I still don't like him, I felt for him. He sure is a tragic hero in his own story.

How different are the drama and the novel?

nooo.... I saw a post on social saying early July so I was looking forward to it. Hope end of July is a rumour as well. xD

I'm at ep 3 now. Editing quality is not that good, but still able to make out the main plot so far. Looks like they cut out 7 episodes, which might explain the issue.

Plot so far feels okay-ish I guess. Still too early so hard to tell. So far, it feels like a light hearted cultivation story.
