The last previews ❤️❤️❤️ I can watch the latest episodes but I have attachment issues. I can't let go... I need a debriefing session and an online support group when this show is over.
The romance is slow but I think it was intentional to prove a point. 1. You aren't happy just because you marry a prince. You have to find yourself first. 2. Real love develops naturally. It's not love at first sight. It's tested through a lot of challenges. It is okay to say slow down or say I need time to think about it. 3. Find a guy who is willing to wait for you. You are worth the wait 🙂 4. People express love in different ways. Sometimes you need to spend time with each other to get each other's love languages, and meet halfway.
I think this drama is a romance, but a different romance. It is a healthy balance to other shows that sell an unrealistic and sometimes dangerous portrayal of relationships as pure passion and dramatic resolution of conflicts.
As if I didn't need another reason to love the ML and FL, but from the way they dealt with the bratty kid I know they will be awesome parents. I hope the show gives as scenes of them with their future kids.
Reading through the comments I can see that there is a lot of complaints about the lack of romance between the…
1000% agree. As a married person myself, I know emotional intimacy, trust and communication are so much harder to establish than skinship. What they have is couple goals
I feel desolate in advance that there are only 10 episodes left of this drama... It's my daily peace & healing!!
I know exactly what you mean. I want to rewatch the show and it is not even over yet. Are there any more healing Chinese historicals? I need more of these shows in my watch list.
Wish this show had more romance and passion but it does have a lot of... Tenderness? Respect? Space?
The main couple shows love in little ways. And all things considered, it is harder to find tenderness in drama land than passion. Usually couples go through so many episodes in a love hate push or pull, but here they just quietly support each other while pursuing their goals and being their own person. It can be disappointing if you want the usual drama escape, but speaking from experience, this is what a happy marriage looks like.
Just realized now, the girls in the show remind me of the characters in the book Little Women: responsible Meg (Yuan Ying), feisty Jo (Li Wei), spoiled Amy (Song Wu), and kind but tragic Beth (Hao Jia).
Now I get the title... people breaking free from barriers and expectations, starting over in a new place that feels barren and lonely, redefining social norms that don't work anymore. It was never meant to be just a romcom about two people.

Only on ep 3 so too early to tell. But so far... Really liking the reversal of gender roles. FL is strong and vocal, successful, more mature. ML is emotionally sensitive, struggling to break free from parental control, and likes domestic stuff.
In episode 4. Mu Deok's facial expressions. ❤️ If she weren't an assassin, or maybe because she is an assassin, I want to hang out with her and be her best friend
I usually like detective comedies but I am skipping half of each episode. The shaman ensemble is fun, but the FL is so stubborn and unlikeable. Do I drop?

In real life, love is a slow boil.
This drama is spoiling me. I want the next episodes but I dread the ending and letting go of the show.
