Title Joy of Life Season 2 Spoiler
Ok so I’m on episode 3 of JOL special Edition. I see they replaced the whole beginning scene where he’s writing…
With 746 chapters it is inevitable. But the Transmigration change was a happy surprise.
Watching the S2 teaser, I think they changed also the fate of the brother. I guess the “brothel” part in the novel didn't go through lolll

JOL2 will be available on iQIYI? DETAILS above indicates that but I can’t confirm it.
China on demand announced it on their site. Viki shared S1 so it is pretty much a sure thing they will offer S2. But no mention about iquyi

Seeing how the special edition has made some changes to align more with the book (remove the story opening) I’m…
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the modern introduction and ending were removed from Season 1 of the show. I am happy that the show is sticking to the novel. I have a good feeling that Season 2 will end with a bang and I have a good idea which one. I assume that when the creators submitted Season 1, they were concerned about censorship issues. The topics of time travel and reincarnation can be sensitive and difficult to handle with censorship.

Omg!! Do you know the release date for season 3??? Or do we have to wait 4-5 more years like we did season 2!!
S3 confirmed was a happy confirmation. But the S2 lead that direction. So yay!

I know it is a taboo subject on MDL but don't care 😆 In real life, in my opinion, age gaps are not an issue…
I agree with the statement. The dramas produced between 2014 and 2018 focused more on palace politics and had a different acting style. However, these days, the focus has shifted towards Wuxia Xianxia and shows featuring childish female leads and too many time travel with BE and SE.

Despite this, there are still some excellent shows such as JoL, Ming Lan, and New Life Begins. It's interesting to see this transition in the industry. Personally, I enjoy both generations of dramas, except for the ones with poorly acted childish female leads, which I cannot stand.

I have a fondness for seasoned actors and actresses :)

Yan Bingyun killed FanXian in JoL1...... I suppose, the writer will exonerate him, saying he only pretended to…
This was done to end season 1 with a bang; it does not exist in the novel. I bet S2 will also ends with a similar false death

I am glad they changed to fit the novel better. I hope they had the same goal for S2 S3. I didn’t like when they change the fate of Teng Zi.
They twisted also few characters personalities and events..

I know it is a taboo subject on MDL but don't care 😆 In real life, in my opinion, age gaps are not an issue…
My main concern is physical appearance. And the reason is simple: I do not check their bio when I am watching a drama. I am watching their performances. It is visual. It's a fact that a man over 45 years old will never look as youthful as a 25-year-old, and a woman in her mid-twenties will never look as mature as a woman in her 30-40s.

Unfortunately, production companies tend to prefer young and fresh-faced actresses. It's commonly known that actresses over 35 years old don't often get the lead roles, except for very popular ones. On the other hand, if male actors are still physically attractive, they tend to get the main role.

This is an unfair and biased situation, but it's the truth. However, I don't care about this age gap unless the acting performance or the lack of chemistry is too obvious.

In the novel, she has even fewer appearances and shouldn't be a main character.
Yes we saw her in typical red attires plus story is at the capital, not in the north. But I do not think she will have much outside of this. This story is not a romance.

Rumors said they did 60 episodes so my guess is they already produced and requested S2 and S3 and received censorship approvals
Plus it makes sense to keep the same crew to make sure everyone is available. I expect S3 in a couple of months once money returned from S2

With all these characters, i think that once again Li Qin will not have enought screentime. She choice many dramas…

Thanks for the double post. You made your point. I think differently.

If actors and actresses are going to perform a romantic storyline in a drama, I expect the romance to be believable and to have chemistry between the characters. However, I did not find any chemistry between them. I am not sure if it was a directorial choice or her acting skills that contributed to this lack of chemistry. As a viewer, I expect the actors to portray their characters convincingly, so that I can believe that the female lead is not just a groupie in front of her idol. The progression of love seemed to have eluded my perception entirely. From my point of view, it appeared as though he had fallen head over heels for her, while she simply went along with the situation without much thought.

My point of view. You are entitled think differently

The male lead is nearly twice the female lead age in real life but he looks like he’s in his late 20s.
I know it is a taboo subject on MDL but don't care 😆

In real life, in my opinion, age gaps are not an issue when it comes to true love. However, in dramas, actors and actresses portray different characters, and sometimes an age gap between them may be a concern. Even though it is not always the case, some actors or actresses may feel uncomfortable while performing a kissing scene with someone who is significantly older or younger than them. And viewers can easily notice that.

In this particular drama, I have seen the actors kiss, and my first thought was, "Wow! He knows how to kiss, and I am grateful that they did not show a standoffish or awkward kissing scene.". They were both professional, and I didn't notice any awkwardness. Perhaps the age difference didn't show too much physically, partly because he still looked like a handsome man in his thirties. And perhaps it was because she is a true professional. Acting is essentially the art of portraying a character through pretense.

I always thought that it might be more difficult for young actresses. However, I acknowledge that this is a biased point of view and I cannot claim to understand what it is like to be in their shoes.

I noticed something amusing - when a viewer enjoys a show and its actors, the age gap between characters is not a concern. However, if a viewer dislikes the actors or the drama, the age gap becomes a significant problem. I consider this to be biased and I admit that I am not immune to it.

My personal opinion. You are entitled to think differently.
