How is it creepy? Just curious cuz I haven’t seen it yet
"Stay With Me" it's a remake of Addicted by the same author, just character names changed and some other minor changes. It was also done strictly for the international market, so no chance of China shutting it down, censoring it, etc.
For future reference: If it's a movie, especially one with a theatrical release then it typically doesn't make…
6 months dvd/bluray/digital release is industry standard.
That was changed during the pandemic because of the lockdowns, etc. but now they're going back to the same 6 months standard.
There's still a few where they had release schedule deals with streaming platforms so those still get released earlier and then of course there's the rare cam version, but generally speaking everyone is back on 6 months releases.
Some of the Korean BL series that are also released as a movie work a bit different. The different versions can get released anywhere from 6 months to a year apart from each other.
For future reference: If it's a movie, especially one with a theatrical release then it typically doesn't make…
Movies like this are extremely rarely / ever uploaded as cam versions, so as I said in my original message, 6 months after theatrical release then however long before someone uploads it, translates it if it doesn't have it's own subtitles, etc.
Exactly. Worst proposal ever. And frankly, it's a little weird that the previous episode was all about "cheating,"…
According to your profile it says you're 23 so you might not be aware of this but in the 90's-2000's it was LGB shown in what series/movie there were in the USA at the time. It wasn't until "Transamerica" in 2005 that there was an actual serious Trans character. I made the distinction purely on what was mainstream at the time.
Now to answer your larger question about the whole "Drop The T" thing.
Take a bowl of alphabet soup, try to pick out every noodle of a specific letter without touching any of the other letters...you can't because they all get lost in a giant puddle together and you can see the individual letters. The same thing has been happening for a long time now with the whole LGBTQ++++++++++ community, and that's becoming a problem for everyone, but no one wants to confront that because inclusion for all is good, right. The problem is while there is some crossover, there are also very specific needs, etc. that concern individual groups as a whole that are now being blended together as one and the more than goes on the less that actual needs are being overlooked. I have nothing against anyone, I just think a lump some approach is hurting everyone by taking away the sight of both the group and individual needs over everyone lumped together.
I'll give you an example, look at people that are intersex, some of them require hormone therapy, now many of them can't receive it because that falls under gender affirming care in states that have passed laws against it because the push for gender affirming care of trans is outpacing the actual medical studies to properly determine who actually needs it because they are Trans and who is suffering from other underlying mental health issues or even those who haven't really figured out what they are yet but people are telling them well you tick this, this, and this box so you must be that, before they have a chance to figure it out for themselves. That's not fair to either group that needs the proper care, but because everyone is being lumped together so much now the individual specific needs of one group are being affected by the other and so now both are suffering for it.
Inclusion is important, but there's also times we need to realize that our differences exist and sometimes being together but separate is the best thing for everyone involved.
Hope that made sense and I do apologize if anyone was offended by this, that wasn't my intention.
Whatever Ellis Gage got paid to do this series, it definitely wasn't enough.....he carried this hard!!! Ellis Gage, Jeff Chen, and the theme song were good so I guess there's that...unfortunately that's were the praise ends.
The writers / directors have gone on and on (in youtube posts) about how hard everything was because their crowdfunding, etc. failed and they had to do so much by themselves and they had to spend all this money to fly the actors out from NY, and blah, blah, blah.
There are tons of Vietnamese (and other productions around the world) that have little / no budget and still manage to produce amazing series/movies. They cast local actors / locals as extras instead of flying actors thousands of miles, all do multiple jobs, most don't even get paid at all, etc. and yet you never hear them trying to use this as an excuse for poor writing, continuity, etc. Hell even high school / college productions have better writing and execution than this did, and again, you never see them making excuses.
The writers / directors of this even went so far as to attack anyone that said something even remotely negative in their eyes, even if it was done politely as constructive feedback.
Was this the absolute worst BL/LGTBQ series/movie I've watched this year....nope because I actually made it all the way through this one unlike some of the Pinoy series this year, but then again that was also probably because this was only 7 episodes and Ellis's performance made it almost bearable to sit through an episode.
First we get whipped Wu Bi stares in yesterday's episodes, today we get jealous rage Wu Bi, and of course it's not a BL without the evil manipulative bitch trying to get in the way. Hopefully they don't drag the storyline with her out beyond the next episode or two.
Of course let's not forget Duo verbally kicking Su Yu in the balls to jump start his brain into realizing his feelings.
I loved season one but maybe I’m reading into Shin a little bait but I have started to find him a bit manipulative…
Shin is the "new generation" that doesn't care about age gap, reputation, societal pressure, etc. whereas Minato is still in the "old generation" mindset. Shin is just trying to give Minato a push towards the newer age of thinking, sometimes he goes a bit far, but then he realizes and adjusts.
Can we stop pretending 30 is old? Old fashion Cupcake he was 38/39 and they made him seem geriatric
Gay and male....for many 30 is considered dead to the gay world, you're no longer young, attractive, desirable. Unfortunately that's still a major mindset in the gay world which along with Minato knowing this and being mindful of the age gap is why he does a lot of the things he does.
This show should be called "Minato's Doormat," featuring Shin as the thing on the floor. It's really sad: I just…
You stopped watching episode 3 at the wrong time, if you had finished watching the episode you would have seen that things are definitely not going to continue like that. The two couples only got together at the end of the first season, they needed to take a couple of episodes to set up what's to come and they did a good job of that without dragging it too long.
Poor little Nuea being too busy drooling and having the blood rush from his head to his nether regions to not even realize he's already a little rabbit caught in the snare that is Lom. lol
With the Pinoy mini-series "Tie The Not" just finishing and this series starting right after, there's definitely a sense of Deja'vu so far.
I know this is only one episode in and things can definitely change, but when Mame is properly neutered and kept on a short leash in regards to her love of rape, sexual assault, etc. her series end up actually not being that bad.
I love how right from the first episode they established that Yiwa is not only all for Lom trying to get Nuea but supportive of it as well. If the first episode is any indication this is going to be a whole marriage because of parents being conservative, etc. and reputation / legacy being more important to them then their children's happiness. If that's the case, it'll be interesting to see where this one takes it and if they actually do anything new/different with it.
You could sit here and nitpick everything wrong with this series, but for me personally, the cast made this one to watch and one I'd watch if there was a season 2. Wayu and Wayha were so ridiculously cute together in their own little bubble in the eye of the chaos going on around them. I really wanted to see Korn end up with someone he actually wanted to be with and wanted to be with him...and no not Pawin. The storyline really benefitted from a certain characters demise and I wish it had come sooner, nothing against the actress, but it changed the whole flow and feel of the series once there was one less main character in the mix.
Exactly. Worst proposal ever. And frankly, it's a little weird that the previous episode was all about "cheating,"…
I'm sitting here reading your comment and I'm just like, yup watched that one, and that one, and that one. lol Even when the English subtitles for those series aren't the best the dialogue, etc. is written so much better. This one just tries too hard and comes off so unnatural.
Exactly. Worst proposal ever. And frankly, it's a little weird that the previous episode was all about "cheating,"…
Yeah the first 4 episodes were 90's-2000's USA LGB level cringe but still had some charm to it (Thanks to the Joshua character), it's been tanking hard since then.
it's easy to ignore the low budget factor when it's something done well, hell Vietnam has had some awesome bl series that were all self funded / passion projects, but when the story starts to suffer it really exaggerates everything else wrong with the production.
The production even resorted to writing a huge comment on their youtube channel for episode 6 trying to excuse everything away because it's a small passion project, etc., etc. and at the end of their post even took a dig at anyone that even remotely criticizes (even constructly), etc. anything about the series.
With only one more episode to go I'll finish it out, but won't be watching another project from them again and think they really shot themselves in the foot with ever trying to crowdfund or get investors in their future projects.
I have a very important question,is it worth to watch?
Do yourself a favor and forget this exists!!!
Most series start off rough and get better as it goes on, this one is actually getting worse the more it goes on and the start was bad to begin with.
This is just the first in a series of 4 mini-series and if this one is any indication of the quality of the whole project, none of it is going to be worth watching.
Even just once I'd like to see Joong X Dunk cast in a series where the Writer and Director actually give a shit about the story instead of just stringing together a none stop onslaught of "magic moments" with some filler transitions pretending to be a story.
After episode 6, Joshua needs to tell Andre to go F himself, get the F out, and go back to the Philippines. after that "proposal". He was almost likeable until that while thing, then just turned into a selfish, self-centered ahole. But of course in the finale episode they'll find a way to spin it all so it's a happy ending, even though Andre doesn't deserve any redemption.
This either needed another episode or two or at the very least better editing for episode 8. There was too much wasted time reshowing what happened at the wedding instead of going in depth as to what the fallout was, why Briggs was avoiding Shao despite Shao calling him non-stop for days, etc. It all felt rushed, only surface deep, and never finished off a lot of the conflict built up.
it's still a massive improvement over their other works, but there's still more improvement to be made....and holy Shizu Batman...we got an Oxin production without ChuckChuck getting lost!!!. lol
