Real astrology is a lot more complex than your patterns. This all just sounds like a collection of platitudes found within fortune cookies. Trying to fit humans into boxes based on their year of birth isn't a pattern, it's just superficial.
Also, I cannot concur regarding her acting as I quite like it.

The SML is one of the antagonists of the story (similar to his role in TBOY). The Princess sure looks cute and she is the FL's friend, but she is so dumb and naive that it hurts to watch.
Right now the two of them aren't really a couple. The SML only married the princess so that he can milk her blood (used as a cure for his sister) and she is so love-sick and dumb that she lets him abuse her in various ways without even realising that he is abusive. Their dynamics may change some time in the future, but right now (ep. 12) I'm not too keen on their scenes. They had quite a bit of screen-time in the more recent episodes. Some of them were hilarious, especially those with her eunuch spying on their "married life".

I'm intensely disliking this fake DZY. She feels like someone who would walk over a mountain of dead bodies to realise her ambitions. All because "she suffered so much already". Hopefully, she gets dispatched back to that mountain soon, preferably before she drags that love-sick bodyguard down with her.

If he really takes that long to work it out then they have not only made his character boring and bland, but also dumb!
I cannot say this too often: screen-writers who think they need to "improve" on perfectly fine novels should be sent to Anle's water prison. For life!

I wouldn't mind the supporting roles getting more screen-time if they were interesting. The fake Ziyuan is boring as hell and her delusions of grandeur mixed with self-pity gets on my nerves already after two episodes with her. It is save to say that the only interesting thing about her is her hot bodyguard. They can give him more screen-time any day.

Yeah, there's quite a lot to watch right now. I'm just a bit annoyed that all the xianxia seem to be messed up. So far Butterflied Lover is still the best of the lot.

Same here. I'm taking a little break to see how long this silliness will go on. I've still got Destined to finish, which frankly, feels a lot more grown up with fewer cliches.

Yep, I hope you are right. This being c-drama there obviously has to be a third option (again, same as in Princess Silver) but the initial either-or question may create a rift between the ML and the FL.

Agreed. It happens far too often and we should speak out against it wherever we see it! We may not be able to change anything about it, but at least we can show that we cannot be duped.

Same here, but I think I'm going to pause for a few days because as this is getting intense I don't want to get stuck on a nail-biting cliffhanger.

I think he only has "accepted" the baby because it can be useful to clear her poison, but what are they're supposed to do with the butterflied baby?? I don't see a baby going through 3 years of detox by drinking black peony soup...

This "transferring to poison to the baby" plot is exactly the same as that in Princess Silver - are the writers running out of ideas??

Just looking dreamy isn't enough to carry a 30-episode drama. After an interesting start this show falls into the usual xianxia cliches of endless misunderstandings, lack of communication (and brains) and antagonists without any proper motivation.
Acting-wise, the SML seems to be leagues ahead of everyone else. He is so good at playing the evil guys!!!!

He had a good turn-around in TLB, though. I like this kind of complex characters and he is quite good at playing them...

What is the connection with this drama?? Or are you just randomly posting stuff about Chinese astrology?
