FSF looks and sounds better in bts clips.i think they wanted to make him look pale and sickly and sound old but…
The excessive use of ‘ pale face’ is not doing the actors any favours. So what if there are a few visible lines in their faces? It just makes them look alive and allows them to show some subtle acting.
Well, Legend of Zhuohua is pretty good actually. Smart FL, definitely no fillers.
Yes, darker themes would be nice, but so far I found the execution of these rather disappointing. Sometimes the trailers promise a lot more than the drama will actually give. Just think back to the amazing trailer for Unchained Love. We all expected the ML to be yet a few shades darker than in LBDF and then he turned out to be a toothless tiger in a f*cking comedy. It’s one of those where the script writers definitely butchered the novel. Here , we ca have some hope because the original author also wrote the script, but it seems that censorship rules will only allow a very limited degree of darkness for the leads.
That’s great news and well deserved! Thank you for sharing this with all of us. It’s a bit disappointing that…
Your apprehension of negativity towards LYF seems to be reading more into my comments then there is. Equal footing means of equal quality, not that they are the same. Also, I’m yet to watch LYF, so I’m neither belittling nor comparing it. Unless, of course, in your understanding saying that another drama deserves a similar rating means “belittling”.

Well, you enjoyed LYF and I’m happy for you. There are also many people who like me immensely enjoy this one, so why can’t the two not be on equal footing. Considering the many absurd comments that have been made about the ML’s age it seems to me that LYF isn’t the only one suffering from antis either.
Good news good news guys….so last week I commented on how The legend of Zhouhua ranked 3rd place without any…
That’s great news and well deserved! Thank you for sharing this with all of us. It’s a bit disappointing that despite all this and the overall positive feedback on this page the MDL rating is still stuck at 8.2 (while Lotus Casebook is at 9.0 and LYF at 8.7) This is clearly the pretty-boy factor that seems so obvious on MDL..
Apparently this was mentioned in Tencent’s press conference today as one of the dramas scheduled for 2024… So no more Jeremy dramas for this year 😢😢😢 *sighs and goes back to watching Be My Princess*
Jeremy seems to have a new policy. After the "must take his shirt off in every drama" it's now the "must get married…
Na, there should be a lot more people in the cast, but I don't have the info and I'm not sure if there is any place to find out (Douban has even fewer people listed). The Cui Liang character is someone who works with Pei Yan and I would assume the two other support characters on the main page are the emperor and Pei Yan's mother, so all the people from the ML's tribe are missing and all the princes and officials, too. They usually change or merge some of the characters from the novel to fit the drama plot so it would be difficult to guess who else will be in the final version.
Wow, those pictures of him in the red. Absolutely gorgeous.
Jeremy seems to have a new policy. After the "must take his shirt off in every drama" it's now the "must get married in every drama" 😂😂😂 And yes, he looks good in red, but I prefer the burgundy he wore in RR rather than the bright red. I love the bride's dress. The red + green combination is my favourity type of Chinese wedding dress. I don't know why she is blurred in most of the shots... are they trying to keep the mystery of who will be the lucky bride?
This is a well cast show. Too often shows cast an immature girly actress as FL for an older ML but Jing Tian is…
You're so right! I hope that soon more and more people will realise that these pin-ups pretending to be actresses are a waste of time and money. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for the (often a good deal older) male leads to be paired with the trainee. I'm only discovering Jing Tian on this drama and I'm quite impressed by how well she manages to pull off the young-girl-act, with just the right dose of innocence without appearing stupid or childish.
