Hehe, I guess everyone has their own preference and favourites and there is nothing wrong with praising them while ignoring others. Saying nothing is better than saying negative things.
I think we should all pull together (just like Xiao Wuxia and Pei Yan did) to support this drama as best we can. Fans of different actors tearing each other up may amuse passers-by, but it rarely benefits the drama.

Based on what I’ve seen in the stills, the wardrobe for all of them was very good. Make-up was decent, too. Now they just need to lay off that white filter!

Yes, more natural features would be a welcome change from the currently fashionable “white-face”. It’s one of the reasons why some of the older dramas feel so much more “lifelike” and engaging.
I really don’t care if there are lines or blemishes on an actor’s face, for as long as they are able to use said face for acting. They are supposed to be actors, not models. It’s a point that many C-netizens don’t seem to get, hence the excessive use of filters.

Yes, I think there will be different trailers released in the run-up to the broadcast that look at the story from different angles.

Jeremy IS one of the three leads in this drama and if you are familiar with the story you will know that Pei Yan is a very important character in it.
Moreover, this is Jeremy’s last drama, so I don’t think it is any disrespect to the production team (or anyone else) if Jeremy fans are anxious to see more than a 3 second shot of him.

I cannot say that I’m happy with this trailer.
Despite being one of the leads, Jeremy’s part is reduced to one line! What is the production company playing at?

I don’t think there is one. The person who started it on NovelUpdates gave up quickly.
I have done a the first five chapters and may do a few more passages relevant to Pei Yan to share with friends, but I’m not planning to do the whole long novel nor to make the translation public.
With AR’s army of fans, I find it hard to believe there isn’t one Chinese speaker to undertake this…

Admittedly, I was quite tired, but their “sweet moments” in ep. 3 and ep. 4 were sending me straight to sleep. Picking up in the middle of ep. 4 again, hoping the pace will improve.

I agree. I have always defended him because you can be thin and wiry with as much strength as one of those bulky people, but I really don’t like how tired and worn out he looks in this.
I know he is ambitious and a hard worker, but right now less work and more food/rest may be urgently required if he wants to preserve his health and keep giving us more dramas to watch in the long term.

If you ignore the precedent versions then this one is no worse than any of the recent dramas that all score 8+ ratings despite frequently abysmal acting. On the contrary, I quite appreciate the fact that this one has many roles for middle-aged actors which improves the overall acting level.
It does not seem fair to punish a drama (and all the people associated with it) because it isn’t the first time we see the same story.

Some actors need a strong acting partner to give a good performance.

What are they playing at? It feels rather unfair to just drop this with zero promotion and then expect LYX fans to do all the legwork.
