SLY has always been marketed as a big ML project. While it's true that there are characters and dynamics, it's…
I absolutely agree with you. I’d rather see my favourite actor in a good supporting role in a quality drama (with an overall decent cast) than be the lead in a mediocre drama surrounded by people who can’t act. When it comes to fans, they usually aren’t a coherent group. There certainly are varying degrees of craziness in individual fans and for individual actors/actresses. The problem of suppressing supporting actors rather comes from the production team itself if the lead actors have some influence on the way scenes are filmed/cut, makeup and styling or even the plot. Fans, no matter how fanatical, usually don’t have that kind of influence. Considering who is the lead actor here, I don’t think we will have this problem as I trust LYX isn’t the petty insecure type who would need to suppress others. Unlike many people who are known to play such games, he has both looks and skills and doesn’t need to be scared of anyone.
didn’t he retire though? I would love to see this!
He announced his retirement from acting in March last year (mainly due to issues with his agency, for the full story please scroll down on this page). In September last year he confirmed his comeback. Earlier this year he has already filmed a variety show (yet to be aired) and a guest appearance in Southern Anecdote, so he is definitely back!
Interesting. 🥭's Flourished Peony was also scheduled for the summertime slot.
That is really sad indeed. I always feel the strongest and most satisfying dramas are those with a strong overall cast. I only dislike weak actors and it pains me to see my precious Jeremy paired with any of them. I don’t see any reason to dislike any FL paired with LYX or Jeremy, unless they are bad actresses (they both unfortunately had several of those in the past).
Interesting. 🥭's Flourished Peony was also scheduled for the summertime slot.
I have no doubt that LYX will dominate our screens until they crack 😂 The big difference between SLY and the other dramas is that it has a whole team of hot guys supporting him and he has no issue to let them shine because his ego is big enough while in many other dramas all other actors have to be kept small to allow the ML to stand out.

I know! There will be four “big male lead” dramas this year and while pitting them against each other might drive up the buzz, but it will reduce everyone’s enjoyment with endless mud slinging and fan wars. I’d much rather watch the dramas that I like in peace and quiet and not care about the others.

Haha, yes, I heard that, too. It seems some executives are trying to compare their d***s 😂 I’m not into dreamy looks without substance, so the choice is very easy for me.

According to rumours, Yang Yang’s Immortal Cultivation drama has now also been rescheduled from April to the summer holidays. It seems that someone is adamant to have the “big male lead” dramas go head to head.
Even though I've read the novel, still can't wait to see what this villain guy is all about. 🥀https://kisskh.at/photos/yWZXA6_3
I’ve heard from fans on Weibo that apparently Jeremy is very proud of this role and really excited about the upcoming broadcast. Considering that he usually is very low-key, it must be dynamite! I so hope that this role will give his career the boost that he deserves 🙏
There is also 桃花映江山 aka Peach Blossoms Reflecting the World 😅I hope her next project, 尚公主 will…
Yes, in the novel the character sounds very interesting and I love political power play dramas. Sadly most screenwriters seem to think we are all stupid, so they dumb everything down and replace it with cheesy romance (just as they did with Love of Nirvana). Hopefully, this time they will make an effort to give us something good. The novel seems to have a lot of fans who don’t want them to mess with the original character setting. Don’t worry about the 853 chapters 😃 I love reading!

Thank you for the explanation. I haven’t read the book yet, but will start soon. Moping about his dead wife and brooding revenge is what I want to see!! He will be excellent at it! However, I saw some comments on XHS about his character and many fans were afraid that the scriptwriters wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation to create a love triangle between him and the FL who, if I understood correctly, carries the soul of his deceased wife. His character in Love of Nirvana was also very good in the novel, but the screenwriters completely ruined it and turned him into a dumb wit stalker instead.🤬 He has a good relationship with Meng Ziyi, so I hope she will look out for him.🙏

Some of these drama titles are really cheesy, but it doesn’t bother me. The most important thing is a good script! I just just hope that this time around the scriptwriters won’t screw my homeboy Jeremy again like they did in Love of Nirvana.
The name of the drama has now been officially changed to 百花杀 (Bai Hua Sha). The English title seems to be ‘Blossoms of Power’. After ‘Blossom’ and ‘Royal Rumours’ (the Chinese title is Hua Liuli Anecdote) this will be Meng Ziyi’s third drama with ‘Hua’ (= flower) in the title. Since all of last year’s dramas with this word in their name have fared relatively well, I guess it should be taken as a good omen.
Xu Zheng Xi??? I thought he retired?Read the novel... I can totally see He Yu as the ML character lol.
He “retired” only for about half a year due to problems with his useless agency and his father being sick. He announced his official comeback in September 2024.
He will shine through like he does in many of his dramas as SML. Hopefully the ML and the cast would be good enough…
I don’t know if you read the novel behind Love of Nirvana. I did and I had high hopes for this role as the Pei Yan in the novel was fantastic! Clever, scheming and domineering. However, instead of giving him such a role, they turned the drama Pei Yan into a dumbwit stalker, always outwitted by either the ML or the FL. He had to permanently keep a stooped posture so as to not look too domineering next to the much shorter ML. His best lines were cut and even the scream (after An Cheng dies) that they filmed and that we saw in the trailer was deleted in the end. His acting was great, but all the credit for the success of the drama went to the rather mediocre lead couple. Similarity to Pei Yan, Jeremy must have seen something intriguing in this new role as Xiao Changqing. I just hope that by the time the finished drama hits the screen it will still be there.
There are some persistent rumours saying that Jeremy will star in Dong Feng Xin (Meng Ziyi’s new drama). The role would be Xiao Changqing, the second male lead who seems to be a very complex character involved in the power struggle at court. The official confirmation of the lineup will be on 17/03/2025 and filming is supposed to start on 07/04/2025. While I am very happy to see Jeremy return to filming, I am rather disappointed by the choice of drama. After his comeback I had hoped that he would transition into more serious roles that do justice to his acting skills, not do another stupid idol drama, and as 2nd male lead to boot! That’s just asking to get screwed again, like he was by the scriptwriters and director on Love of Nirvana. They will never allow an SML to steal the limelight from their leading man by showing off his acting prowess and his handsome face.
You’re right! The story is interesting with many very funny scenes and the acting is decent. Overall a very entertaining drama! It’s just a bit low on the obvious pretty boy idol factor, hence the rating on MDL will be ridiculously low compared to other dramas that may be full of bad acting and plot holes the size of Switzerland.
He was born to be a dragon 🐉 On his XHS account he posted a clip of himself morphing into Nezha’s dad (also a dragon), a perfect likeness! If ever they do a live action version of this, he should be 1st choice for the role!

I did a machine translation from the Chinese original because at the time there wasn’t a translated version (now there is).
