I have to explain:Gu Qingzhi and Shen Xihe do not look alike. In the novel it is described that Xiao Changqing…
I agree with you, it shouldnāt be the same actress because it wouldnāt be logical (unless itās like the people wearing masks where everyone can see who they are but pretends they cannot). Before Gu Qingzhi died, she and Shen Xihe were two completely different people and any scenes with Gu Qingzhi that we may see in the drama will be flashbacks to when she was alive. There were only a few scenes in Xiao Changqingās memories so having these few scenes played by another actress shouldnāt have Meng Ziyiās fans get their knickers in a twist. Nobody will threaten her standing as the FL.

Somewhere in this lifetime,I am going to need Jeremy Tsui to do another modern drama..Thank you and Happy birthday…
No worries, heālll get there. By now he has worked his way from ancient costume up to Republican Era (Southern Anecdote). Iāve seen some pictures and clips and he looks absolutely delicious in the role as Zhang Ruipu. For some reason his role hasnāt been confirmed by the production team (and therefore couldnāt be updated on MDL). It is probably meant as a surprise cameo.
The variety show (čęęęę č”社 - English tittle: Forever Young) that Jeremy filmed in January this year has started airing in May. Episode 7, which is the first one he appears in, will be broadcast this Thursday (29/05/2025) at 12:00 on Mango TV.
This drama obtained a distribution license in May 2024, and it's been a year but still hasn't aired.Look at how…
I donāt trust Baidu at all. Their articles are littered with inaccuracies. Just have a look at the photo section here on MDL. The pictures of the opening ceremony were posted in Jan. 2024. Do you seriously think people waited a year to upload them? I donāt need to look up any of these dates on external sources as I have my own records from the time when it was filmed. Xu Zhengxiās wrapping photo cause quite an uproar at the time. Thatās how I clearly remember that it was in June last year.
All these Xianxia's coming out. I'm so burnt out from the repetitive story telling but I still watch almost each…
Itās not the repetitive story (cold god +quirky fairy) thatās the worst, but the endless pastel/white colours. Sent me to sleep right in the middle of the day. š“
Watched the trailer!! š„ š„ excited ā¤ļøā¤ļø
Jeremy Tsui using his real voice⦠need I say more? I have been waiting years for this! Even if itās only a small guest role, it will be worth watching just for that!
He deserves better scripts and should really try to make his way into films.
Absolutely agree with you! He has done quite a few movies in the past, but sadly most of them werenāt good productions. Right now the problem with movies is that suddenly everyone wants to get into movies and that due to the economic pressure on budgets, producers are increasingly turning to traffic āactorsā backed by strong capital to contribute to their project. So to get in, he would either have solid credentials as a serious actor, or have some powerful backers.
Just as an example, support roles in The Wandering Earth 3 were practically āsoldā to people who would make a financial contribution to the tight budget.
It looks like Hidden Shadow will finally hit the screen on 07/05/2025. A new trailer was released today and the fantastic news is that Jeremy will keep his original voice! It may be a small guest role, but definitely worth watching!
First 1.5 episodes were good, but it went a downhill the next 3.5 episodes. Nothing really bad but nothing good…
It sounded rather boring just reading the synopsis⦠How many more female rebirth (or near death experience) followed by revenge plots will we have to endure before the scriptwriters come up with a new idea? When can MLs go back to driving their own stories instead of being reduced to enablers for the FL?

Well, I meant āspare usā regarding the pretend couples. I donāt mind a couple of guys hanging out in a variety show. This being China, any bromance vibe that goes beyond normal male banter will only exist in the heads of some viewers who absolutely want to see it everywhere.

Well, there are a lot of crazy people in C-entertainment. Watching from the sides I can only shake my head at some of these excesses. The worst of it is the need for so-called CP promotion. It is like telling the actors that they are unbelievable as a couple on screen if they donāt pretend to be a couple during drama promotion. ššš I am therefore very happy that SLY will spare us this BS.
People should stop linking the novel to the drama as a lot of changes made in the plot and characters. Why rising…
That is the case for so many novels/dramas, it isnāt an issue particular to SLY, even though some people may use this to create a negative buzz. I am a keen novel reader and there are so many plot lines that wonāt make it through review, from actively toppling the emperor to keeping the FL as a courtesan, so much of it gets toned down beyond recognition. All we can do is live with it and hope that at least the scriptwriters can spare us the usual old tropes.

There will be more scenes in the 8th episode.
