This drama is so ridiculous (in a funny cliche way). For a bunch of smart people, it sure took them a long time…
They looked funny, and those falls (and chest clutches) would make a brilliant drinking game šŸ˜‚but as Jeremy shared in a recent interview, falling flat on his back like that was really painful. Not everything can be faked using padding 😳

For me the worst of all drama emperors was the one in Legend of the Phoenix. He wasn’t only greedy, devious, and disloyal, he was also incompetent and a massive coward! The guy was just screaming to be deposed!

This emperor is so scheming... I am simply speechless
He is devious and manipulative, but unlike many other C-drama emperors he isn’t one-dimensional. The actor Hai Yi Tian s deserves praise for giving us such a nuanced character. He really makes this unlikable character a pleasure to watch!

I don't understand why they took the time to build a reasonable and capable female character and then made her…
It’s a real thing šŸ˜‚
About 80% of all dramas suffer from this syndrome. It always feels like the head scriptwriter has had enough and left it for the trainee to finish, a bit like the head-surgeon leaving the stitching up to one of his subordinates.
I’m only on ep. 32 and am already shaking my head at the fact that while nothing happened in this respect for 30 long episodes, suddenly side-characters that we’ve barely seen around are all getting married.

Finally! I hope he gets some much needed sleep. Also, just caught a glimpse of that devilish smile. So adorable.…
Hehe, yes, that smile is very enchanting. I’m looking forward to hearing him sing opera. Pray they keep his original voice šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™

Matching the character’s personality should be by the casting director, both for looks and voice. Actual actors can modulate their voice as required by the role. If people are only cast based on looks without taking into account voice (or acting capabilities) there is something wrong with the casting.

That’s what I’m saying. If the ā€œactorsā€ aren’t able to speak properly then they should go back to acting school and learn it as it is an integrate part of the profession. In Hollywood, when silent films were gradually replaced by films with dialogue, many actors had to learn proper line delivery or quit. Hopefully the trend of pretty faces moving lips while voice actors are doing the actual acting will end soon in China as well. It would certainly uplift the acting standards.

all actors use their own voices EVERYBODY CHEER
Yey! It’s sad in a way that we are cheering for something that should be the norm.
If they are actors, not idol boys/girls just looking pretty, they should be able to use their voices properly and also master dialects other than their own.
Actors everywhere in the Western World are able to do this, why would actors in China be any less talented?

Xu Zhengxi’s scene is actually from Feng Ying Ran Mei Xiang where he plays the (very dashing) emperor.
Happened to me before. He is confusing everyone with filming two dramas in parallel šŸ˜‚

do you know when lin yun wrap up?
I saw pics that LYX had wrapped today, but Jeremy will only tomorrow. Maybe he’s just catching up on scenes that happen earlier in the drama, I’m still hoping for that Xi vs Xi showdown… šŸ˜
