is this show good ? wanted to start. any spoilers ?
I like it a lot, but it depends what you’re looking for… This one starts off very light-hearted and humorous, but gets more serious as it progresses. The ML doesn’t fit the classic idea of powerful male lead, he is more of a wily, funny character, but the acting is absolutely delicious, especially in the funny scenes. The romance develops rather slowly which is fine as it isn’t the dominant element in this drama. Some of the side-character (Mr Yu front and centre!) also impress acting-wise.
Based on all the info here and there, it really seems we will get this drama this month (they are releasing something…
I heard there was going to be some press conference or event in Beijing…I don’t know if it’s today or later. Apparently, Jeremy is already in Beijing so must be soon… It’s good to see things moving in the right direction.
It seems like the situation is solved now. So maybe the Drama will air
Just because the studio said it’s solved, doesn’t mean it’s solved and ZHW’s statement sounded a lot like “the dog ate my homework”. If the police investigate they may dig up all sorts of unsavory stuff. I really want this to air because ZYC has been so unlucky with his dramas not getting aired, however, I also believe that ZHW is the scumbag that he appears to be (it’s not the 1st time this agency is involved in problems with prostitution…) so I have very little hope for this to air any time soon.
Jeremy fans, here’s your opportunity! How would you like to work for the agency that our boy was desperate enough leave to give up his career? Star Media have today posted a job advert looking for a screenwriter and a production assistant on Weibo using Jeremy’s name and picture to show what a fabulous place to work they are. If you would like to apply, or contact them, you can send an email to: [email protected]
I don’t think his retirement from acting is final. He said in the interview that he gave for the promotion of…
That’s the 1-million Dollar question 😄 Nobody seems to know. In March it was said to end “soon”, but that is a very elastic term. We also don’t know if there are any clauses that would prohibit him from working immediately after the contract ends. These agency contracts tend to have some strange rules and his agency will try to milk his work as long as they possibly can. As far as I have seen, he is the only artist they have who gets any decent roles that bring in money.
Yes if this is coming soon so why there is no promotions and didn't even received license.. so may be this is…
What I find peculiar is that there was a bit of promotion with the Qixi pics and a few articles on entertainment websites, but it all has suddenly stopped. Still, I saw another melon yesterday saying that it would air after Love’s Rebellion.
Did he really quit the entertainment industry for good? Imagine my shock when I first heard it..he's so talented…
I don’t think his retirement from acting is final. He said in the interview that he gave for the promotion of Burning Flames that he would like to try his hand at directing or be a producer or an actor again after his break. There will certainly be a change away from the idol dramas that his agency forced him to do, but first he needs to break free from them and right now, nobody seems to know how long that will take. Yes, the dubbing is really a waste of that grand voice, but again, I don’t think that he had much choice in that.
Only provided it will have obtained a broadcasting licence by then. So far I have not seen any news on this…I…
Yeah, what’s the deal with that one? I never saw any news that it had been shelved for one reason or another, they just somehow “forgot” about it. At least with Jeremy’s shelved drama ‘Braveness of the Ming’ we know the reason why it got canned. The sad thing is that every actor/actress who’s been around for a while has at least one drama that never aired. It must be so frustrating to put in all that work and then see nothing come of it.

Yes, there were other rumours (before tHey all started talking about early September) that suggested it would come for 1st October which would be a very good moment because it’s a holiday in China (National Day). So let’s keep praying that everything goes smoothly 🙏

My impression is that they launched the promotion campaign (articles, posts, clips, etc) at the end of July expecting to get the licence soon and then they may have been told stuff needs to be changed. Right now all the buzz has gone really quiet and to me this seems to be the only reasonable explanation. There seem to be no recent updates and September is only a week away. I find this really worrying…

Yeah, looks like this daft bugger is going to ruin it for everyone else. And it’s not just soliciting but suggesting…
Yes, it is very deplorable in my view that people seem no longer able to separate the artist from his work. Many famous artists were not very nice human beings and even the nice ones can make stupid mistakes. As long as there is nothing criminal (of which I’m not sure in this particular case) people should go easy on the moral judgement. If only half of what is alleged about Zhang Haowei is true then he is truly a very unpleasant person, but that is no reason to cancel any of his dramas. Personally, I think him being a mediocre and un charismatic actor is reason enough to stop me watching anything where he is the ML, but some people don’t seem to mind. While China goes to the extreme in applying a sort of collective punishment by cancelling complete dramas because of one person, the West isn’t far behind. Just look at the witch-hunt against Kevin Spacey. We sadly live in an era of shit-storms and cancel-culture.

Both of them can act and both are easy on the eye, I would be curious to see what their chemistry will be…
