The mother can be a bit excessive but wishing her character to die is too much.
To tell the truth a character as colorful as the mother is what bring life to the drama. You might not like her character but that doesn't mean she is a trash mother or it's a trash drama. It just means you're not the intended audience. And saying the family apologizing to her is not exactly true, they understood her personality and overlook her faults because at the end of the day she's still an important part of their lives unless they're going to cut her from their lives completely. This is especially true for family you can tolerate the people in your family when they're out of line, but you wouldn't tolerate those who are not part of your family.
What gave you that impression. You don't know how to judge acting or do you only like watching dramas with only one type of people when there're many types of people in the world. Why do you make a quick judgements not knowing anything about their characters or the synopsis and over a short preview.
I don't see the example of the parents as bad people, i see them as being very caring individuals with some flaws…
Yeah i think asian parents love can be a bit excessive especially when it comes from a mother. It doesn't matter what age you're, they will still treat you like you're still a child. I experienced this in my own mother so i kind of understood the mother actions and her ways of caring for her daughter, saying it's toxic is a bit too much but it just means she doesn't know how to relax and enjoy herself and being too involve in her daughter's life when her daughter already is an adult compare to her treatment with her son whom she neglected since he was a child. In this drama the fl was a model daughter but she also kept lots of secrets from her mom and dad even though she does communicate with them, the grandma is the one whom she confided in the most. I think it comes down to trust, knowing her grandma will not make any demands on her.
So far in this behind-the-scenes video, his acting seems stiff to me and his expressions are repetitive.I hope…
My reaction is totally different from yours, xukai acting keeps getting better and better. I always love introverted characters because the acting is much harder to be convincing, and it involves eyes acting; xukai is so good when it comes to using his eyes. In acting you follow the characters and become them, it seems you only like expressive characters, xukai has play a few expressive characters in the past and also cold and stiff characters according to tĥe scripts that's why people who judge his acting without understanding the characters only has themselves to blame for not enjoying the dramas because they were quick to make judgements.
These days children barely tries to understand their parents and their upbringing. They just want instant freedom…
I don't see the example of the parents as bad people, i see them as being very caring individuals with some flaws like the mother shows her care by cooking for her children, being involved in her daughter's life. I think her being overprotective to her daughter is a common problem in asian family compare to how she treated her son. There's this differential treatments she showed towards her son compare to her daughter, she gave her son much more freedom compare to her daughter whom is older i think it's been like that in the past and still persist to today in society. The daughter is consider weaker so needs to be protected while the son is consider stronger so he can handle things on his own. The mother priority is misplaced since her daughter turns out to be much stronger than her son. The father is understanding but has a weaker personality. Also agree with you, in this drama both the daughter and son hide things from their own parents, so the mother has to find out things from other people, i think this is because she get anxious easily that why her children were hiding things from her rather than confiding in her when they got in trouble. The fl confided in her grandma rather than her own mother.
True i don't think many picked up on that about him. He was always quiet and giving in to his wife, and his reason is he didn't want to have an argument. There are some people like that in real life, they're rather timid and like to avoid conflicts as much as possible.
I think the biggest problem for this drama is the it was labeled as a romance drama, when it really isn't - that…
I comes into this drama expecting a mother and daughter's relationship, it wasn't promoted as romance as far as i know. The novel that this drama adapted from was about a mother and daughter's relationship, i didn't read the novel but someone who did said it was a family drama from the very beginning and the ml has a very small part in the novel. I was hoping they will write more parts for the ml that's why i was really interested in the ml's story rather than just the romance. I think the drama did a good enough job adapting the novel, i heard the relationship between ml and fl was changed from the novel so there was some disatisfaction from novel readers, but i kind of understand why they didn't do it that way since it was aired on tv so it's bound to be censor.
Ratings are subjective. Take it with a grain of salt. To me, giving a drama a 1 feels insincere because it’s…
Just because you don't think this drama deserves a ten doesn't mean this drama doesn't deserve a ten. It just means your criteria for a ten is different from those people who do think this drama deserves a ten. I rated this drama a ten because i like the drama and i didn't find the mother as annoying as most of those people here, and that just means everyone here watches drama for different reason. I come into this drama expecting a drama about a mother and daughter's relationship and that's what i got and having very likable leads so i'm content with my perfect 10 💕
What an annoying mom!!!😠😠Couldn't stand her. The drama is all about her whining and make the family look…
They're just regular people, what do you mean making them look weak and gullible, both the parents are country people and i feel the drama is relatable with how things were depicted about the family and how as parents seeing their grown up children as still needing their present in their lives. From an asian perspective the idea of being respectful to your parents is a big deal in an asian society. The older generation are set in their way and they're very stubborn, this mom is showed to be too protective of her daughter as well as too stubborn to admit she's wrong, but she can still learn and admit her mistakes and willing to improve. Some don't and stay stucked in their toxic ways with the way they treated their own families.
The backflip. It was all from the strength in his legs and his core body. I hope they don't edit out his face.https://twitter.com/i/status/1790944849509908982
