I think the reason the mother is interfering so much in her children's lives is because she's lonely. When her husband and children are at work, she's all by herself, that one ep when we see her daily activity it's all cooking and cleaning, i think it was it good idea that mch enrolled her mother in classes so she find things to do by herself and for herself. Wonder what happen to the dancing she was doing before, why she is not going to it anymore?

That's a good point, now that she has established her business, she can go head to head with her husband and fight for custody of her son.

This is a family drama, the mother is just overprotective of her daughter. Not sure why do you think the parents should divorce since they both are in a loving relationship even if the wife nagged alot, the dad doesn't seems to mind and use to let her have her way, the mother is the head of household, she does the cooking and cleaning so her family appreciates her contribution. The dad works as a driver so he wouldn't be able to be home much so if they're with him, they would be eating out instead of getting home cook fook, as the mother does most of the cooking. The mother is overbearing but she has good intention, as the ep i'm watching both mother and daughter have finally settle their differences and mother is finally understand she needs to leave her daughter some space. Fl has a strong and stubborn personality like her mother, but she also love her mother and understands she only has her best intention.

She's in the service industry, in this business being agreeable and reasonable is a must. However i hope she will also learn to be more like yzm when it comes to hire the right people and not let them step all over her like one of the staff has been doing.

No she's not aware at first but she's learning. This drama at it core is about a mother daughter relationship, if we looks at the ending theme song we can tell how important this bond is to both mother and daughter, the mother needs to learn to let go and the daughter has to find the courage to break out from her mother's overprotection.

What do you mean as of ep 28 the main leads are in a relationship and have lots of screen times together. The side couple on the other hand is starting to have some conflict due to mao wanting custody of her son.

After ep 28, i think she will change for the better as she said she will be a better mother and not worry mch anymore.

Ep 28 got me so emotional when mch and her mother talked to each other, i'm glad they finally confront each other and let out all their grievances. When mch yelled at her mom and showed her anger to her mom, we can see how much conflict with work and her mom's overprotection is making her feel like her mom is not respecting her boundary or trust her to do a good job. This talk between mother and daughter has been due for quite some times, now both understand where the others comes from, in the mother generation girls are not value as boys so the overprotection from the mother is based on her own experience growing up not being value by her own father. However in showing love to her daughter, the mother neglected her son in the process, however we can see there is a generation gap in thinking because the mother thinks the son can takes care of himself as this is a culture thing how males and females are seen, where the girl is consider weaker than the boy. It's interesting when the mother said if mch was a boy she wouldn't be as worried for her, just showing how chinese society values of gender in the past generation. As for modern day things are finally change and females are starting to have a place in the workplace, so their thinking also change and doesn't think marriage and family as a necessity like in the past generation.

I feel for mao, she gave up custody of her son, and now the father is trying to take full custody and not giving her visitation right, what a bad grandmother to tell a kid his mother doesn't want him.

I'm liking the new girl, she's not pushy when finding out yzm has a girlfriend, she and yzm both like mch's mother because both of them were neglected by their own mothers. Yzm is the perfect boyfriend, running interference for mch and her mother, finally mch has someone she can trust and who will let her be herself without changing her ^^

Yes from the trailer, it will be a happy ending. The mother will learn to let go and becomes better as of ep 28 she finally has a heart to heart talk with her daughter and promises to be a better mom for her.

I got emotional at the beginning of ep 27, mcz finally let it all out. He was able to let out all his frustration over the years having bottling it up for so long, this is a good development for him, he was a model son up to now and always gives in to his mother pressure and being the neglected child. Now his mother can see his pov and understand what he went through as a child living with relatives who didn't treat him well. That uncle and his son are a piece of work, they came to visit and didn't have to pay for their stay, but they acting like they were owed their dues just because they took care of mcz when he was a kid. The father was a bully and taught his son to be a bully and now his grandson is spoiled and bully other kid. The aunt doesn't have much say in the family and are disrespected by her husband and son, the husband yelled at his sister in law when she has been hosting their family and treat them well. I feel sorry for mch's aunt, her husband does not listen to her and disrespect her sister and yelled at her until she cried. It's a good thing yzm came in at the right moment, otherwise her uncle would make trouble for them. I'm glad to see mch drawing a boundary between herself and her mom and didn't let her uncle and his son put down her brother and mother. The mother has lots of pride and always take side of her relatives over her family, now both her son and daughter are ignoring her, and her husband finally speaks up and tell her she's wrong. Have to say the mch's mother is luckier in having a loving husband and children who love and listen to her, her sister is not as lucky seeing how the husband, son and grandson behave.

Was wondering about mao's child, so she shares custody of her child with her ex and got visitation right does that means her husband has full custody of the child? that's why she lives by herself and not with her child, been wondering what happens to her child since we keeps hearing about him, so i'm glad to see she spending time with him and mcz finally. Why does the husband has full custody though, what make mao not a good candidate to have full custody of her child?

She didn't give him the hotel because she knew once he got it he will leave it to an outsider to take care and left for his promotion. By leaving him the house and mch the hotel, she's making him stay and giving him a chance to get together with mch because she knows he has feeling for mch. In that letter to yzm she indirectly asking him to help mch protect the hotel in her memory as he said after he read the letter grandma you're leaving me a complex problem.

If he was desperate like you said, he would've take lost you forever as that drama got really popular because of the genre and the multiple mls. Xukai never cares about popularity so why should he be desperate to work with yangzi, xukai has been in many fl centric dramas where he relegated to support characters many times, so this is nothing new, the different is i knew this drama from the beginning was about a mother and daughter relationship so i knew he picked this drama because he likes the character and he must also like working with yangzi.

And what's your point. Xukai got his big break in a support role as story of yangxi palace is still talked about even till today. And all his roles are good, just because you don't like a drama he's in doesn't mean the drama is bad or his role is bad. You can stop watching the drama if you don't like it, just because you like an actor or actress you don't have to watch all their dramas if the dramas are not to your taste.

Rating is subjective, i like most of his dramas and just because a drama has poor rating doesn't mean it's not good, just like a drama has a good rating doesn't mean you will like it.

Yao should consider a little girl who is still rebelling against her mom over someone as capable and mature like mch. Are you serious or you on crack lol.
