The love scene was done so beautifully! It compensated for many lakings imo. I keep going back to ep 8. I was finally sold on their love story and chemistry.
When you start to dream about a TV series, then you know you ought to take a break cause it has gone under your skin! Stopped at ep 11 cause I cannot anymore. Need a few days to recuperate and then resume!
Theory 01: The wife is the killer. A bit far fetched. But she could be taking revenge in the stead of her parent or is an obsessive admirer of the Queen Mantis! Though this theory would break our ML to pieces. Theory 02: The grandfather is the killer. He seems more plausible. Yes age is acting against him, but it could be that he knew all along about the murders, may be even helped his daughter. Theory 03: This is absolutely wild and the least likely to happen. The Senior inspector (the ML's guardian) is the killer !!! Yes, I have officially lost my mind!
Why wouldn't the inspector call his wife immediately when he found out that his mother fled? Or maybe it happened in that 4 hours? Also why would the inspector let their friend go alone with a suspected killer?!!! The story is loosing its grip on narration unfortunately. A good thriller is in details imo and here they are sloppy.
After Ep 3, the wife's friend has better common sense than her! Instead of going on a wild goose chase she could simply ask her husband and refer the phone call! And also I really hope shows would stop using these old tropes of giving crucial information on phone without first confirming who the receiver is! No one does that. Not before, not now. Its just lazy writing. The inspector and his mother though, on Fire!
What a complex, doomed and destined romance!! Haven't watched such a strong romance in a while. I mean sure certain things were rushed, budget was an issue, but the love-hate-love tugging was truly brilliant. Shuhe's character was my favorite. His dilemma's hit the hardest.
All the while I was watching the series, I was thinking Japan changed its legal age of consent from 13 to 16 in 2023. This couldn't have been made any later. I was not comfortable watching a 15 year old having an intimate sexual relationship with a 32 year old. But I am not going to judge it for that. I knew the premise. I did not enjoy the overall series because I could understand the boy's infatuation/love/obsession for the FL, but why would the FL fall for a boy half her age in such a short time, beats me. Except it felt like she was using him as a vessel to get out of her mundane/ordinary life. Am I wrong? She was insensitive, selfish and may be a little manipulative. However there are characters like this around us and such relationships happen. I just couldn't cheer for her. The series left it open, the relationship status, I guess even the makers finally didn't want to commit to this relationship 😊. I didn't enjoy it, but to each their own!
the beginning of Episode 7 was so soft and poetic, I had goose bumps! There is not enough talk about this one! I hope this one finds its audience and brings good news for the makers and actors!
