But I guess lack of news is common in films because they tend to do a very wide highlighted but short promotional period right before the release to keep the element of surprise and freshness. This Jia Ling's movie this year in which she lost a lot of weight (in fact completely changed her look), her "changed" look was hidden for a year as the film was in production and was only released during the promotional period.

Dramas are different. Some do promotion beforehand and some drop unannounced because there's still a lot of time to do the promo during the episodes airing time.

There is not much pending drama for him because he's focusing on movies right now. The project prior to and after ZHZ are both films, and the one after the one he's about to join is also rumoured to be one. It's quite surprising that you didn't hear about when this drama started or finished because it had multiple leaks that went viral.

It will not drop unannounced, many movies announce 2-3 months prior but there are also some that announce only 15 days prior to keep the promotion fresh in public memory before release. As for this movie, the shooting alone went on for 6 months so it's not surprising that the post production is taking its time.
