He also adds that the shooting is difficult and intricate and the characters are unexpected.

I love Kong Sheng's style of filmmaking, in fact I feel he's more suited to this kind of genre (Minning Town, Like a Flowing River) even tho he's more famous for NIF. I'm so excited for this collaboration.

Not gonna lie, I am glad Xiao Zhan is free from this drama and its fanbase that constantly abuses him with its marketing.

Also, he has better things to do. He's working on prestige projects with award winning directors. No time to play this kind of second fiddle and especially when treated with such unkindness for no reason.

It's a war film. Imperial Japanese army were allied with Hitler and tortured and colonised many Asian countries, those are hard facts, calling their suffering propaganda is honestly offensive. It's always better to be educated about the subject matter than blindly make comments on it. You can just look up Wikipedia, if nothing else, trust it's not written by the CCP ;)
