Everyone has good and bad projects, but half of the toxicity in every comment section is created by your irritating burner accounts that keep copy pasting the same comments over and over.

Why will it get banned? Are any of his works not aired?? Go check up other stars with long list of unaired works stuck for years. Y'all be making imaginary scenarios in your head and then cursing over it. You can love dmbj but don't say weird things.

There's been no other name for male protagonist except XZ from the beginning and the sets have started building already, so it's probably him playing the main role. I don't think he will or should give up interesting roles just because of some online noise, the viewership is usually much bigger than fandom or what happens on weibo.
And secondly, I don't think fans are against shipping fictional characters. They're just against shipping real people.

Starts supporting the sea emperor without thinking about her clan's safety. War is not a child's play. Like Shi Ying said, her words alone could have killed her entire clan. She has no tact and people are rightfully annoyed at her. It's been a while since I watched so these are just a few examples of the top of my head.

PanRou was my fave from beginning to end. That scene in the beginning when Sheng Yang asks her if she knows how to use graphic designing software and she says she knows Meitu 🤣 still cracks me up.

The rest of the casting of the movie still very tight-lipped, but here are some rumours I've heard:

Kara Wai as Guo Jing's mother (most unsure rumour)

I am a fan and I was disappointed with the writing. The writer didn't write a story, she wrote a fantasy for herself. The whole narrative was servicing around Jian Bing too much without Jian Bing putting even half of the effort in the relationship. They didn't even show us where Sheng Yang stayed after getting kicked out of his house (did he stay at the studio they rented? Honestly confused). I literally wanted to throw hands when she received the award by the end like?? What goes on, why is someone who is already mega established receiving another award, what is that doing for the story or their relationship? That was a spot that could have been given to Sheng Yang to shine.
It was torturous to watch him slowly slip into these red flag territories with a woman who never clearly says no or yes. She keeps him hanging, calls their relationship a trial (which is fine if she actually EXPLAINS her situation to him) and the next scene is him nannying her annoying father. All the annoying characters who eat screentime were on her side, always throwing unwarranted comments at Sheng Yang (none of them changed by the end), which she does nothing about.
Okay, maybe I should stop, lol. Maybe I'm not objective enough but the way the story progressed left me infuriated.

What? No. Don't speak like ChatGPT firstly. Secondly, a professional critic has technical skills and critical thinking ability and previously proven competence. A subscribed account cannot make anyone a professional critic. This isn't Elon Musk's Twitter world I'm sorry. All these are fan made fan maintained sites. Professional critic sites are metacritic and rotten tomatoes. These reviews are same as yours and mine, not professional criticism.

Adding that none of the sites mentioned here are professional critics, they're all fan forums.

They picked and chose some scenes to adapt and in essence they are similar stories but while watching they're quite different dramas (this is better). The screenwriter also said that this is not an exact remake so that people don't watch it with expectations of having same-to-same scenes and sequences.

They bought rights for this drama, it's mentioned in the credits.

Oh and another family member has dropped by to trouble Jian Bing. Give her a break, writer 😑. Because of her family arcs we cannot even properly watch her explore and realise her feelings.

I didn't expect the parent talk to go so well. Sheng Yang's parents' concerns are pretty valid.

Probably just social scrutiny and gossip. Which is odd to me because personally I don't find the age gap scandalous in any way. SY will be 30 in four years and anyone gossiping about two above-thirties just has way too much free time in their life.

You can still give a go with the next eps because there's really nice development with the leads. Just skip through those extra characters.
